They have recently been heading towards the futuristic pathway, but in that category of sci-fi shooters, there are a bunch of big competitors (i.e. Borderlands, Destiny, Overwatch, etc).
Should they continue along that path of futuristic shooters? Or stick to what they have done since the start pretty much?
Only problem with it not being set in the past is the creative opportunity, there's barely any of it. I've seen someone mention getting put into alternate reality wars, but that would get old fast.
If you were the head of Activision, what would you do with the Call Of Duty series and why?
get creative with your answers and don't just say get rid of the game
Wait for WW3 to end
-
I'd honestly let it go. They've run out of ideas and can't think of any more. If they won't bother to be original, then they should just stop.
-
The setting is fine, just no exo movements please.
-
The setting isn't the issue, it's the gameplay. They can make they game set in whatever time period they want, but they need to return the gameplay to its core. Its gotten too far from the originals.
-
Id scrap it entirely. It was just not mind blowing after black ops one. It's usually "a terrorist or country rises to try and take over the U.S.". Let's face it. It's been a drying franchise. Id rather have entirely new games than the same old story line repeating over and over again. Plus the Cod games aren't even connected. I say work in something entirely new. Maybe a moba or something like destiny?
-
Slowly let it die, it's become something like an incurable disease
-
Do cod players in general, hate the multiplayer for being in the future, or single player ???
-
CoD can do whatever it wants. They just need to remove the supply drops, then I'll be interested.
-
Stop after black ops because that's when cod died
-
Finally bury it after its death from 3 years ago.
-
Force the three devs to produce 1 solid game every 2-3 years. Dev 1. Zombies Dev 2. Campaign Dev 3. Multiplayer
-
ADD MORE SUPPLY CRATES TO BAIT PEOPLE TO PUT MONEY INTO THE GAME. AND THEN GIVE FREE SUPPLY DROPS WITH HIGH LUCK OF GOOD STUFF TO YOUTUBERS TO BAIT PLAYERS MORE.
-
Stop it. Then maybe wait 10 or so years to reboot it.
-
Activision's should do what Ubisoft is doing with Assasin's Creed right now. Wait a few years for the next one.
-
Take it out behind the barn and shoot it
-
I'm not sure. I want to see the IW campaign to see how successful some of the things they are implementing there are. What I want to see is thinking outside the box. People get waaaaay to hung up on the Call of Duty brand. If one of the COD developers makes what is basically a new IP and slaps the COD name on as insurance for an experimental title then I am all for it.
-
Look at bop2 and backwards to make better cods. Stop experimenting
-
They should stop COD and make a whole new game franchise
-
Die? More seriously, I'd try to go back to the call of duty roots back when it was fun and the multiplayer was (somewhat) balanced. For the campaign, if probably do a Vietnam era setting with NO double jumps/exo-suits and possible having the storyline go between local Vietnam militia and US soldiers storming hills through the jungle. Also we could have a jet bombing mission and maybe a helicopter attack mission. I'd keep the weapons simple and maybe add a few experimental weapons of that era just for some extra fun. Also NO supply drops or anything like that unless the only way to earn them is through playing the game. Like BO3 was supposed to be.

The head of Activision doesn't care as long as he is raking in money.
-
They should and will continue to pump the cods out every year for as long as they make money. Duh
-
Edited by Lord Headass: 10/25/2016 12:27:46 AMScrap it. COD died many years ago and is just being dragged along for more money. Sadly it wont be dying anytime soon, well, because Activi$ion is making their money. Expect the same copy-paste bullshit ever year. Activision could care less.

Edited by Aldrich: 10/24/2016 1:43:52 PMShut It DOWN! Because the shit is stale. It's time to move on. Maybe an over the shoulder game. MW2(?) had an over the shoulder game mode for a while. The gameplay was on point. I usually don't go for 3rd person shooters, but MW2 felt good. Edit Alt-history wars could be cool. Imagine a game set after Hitler won the war... The possibilities... But chances are the story would drag out and get stale as well.

Delete all evidence, they could ask Hillary for tips

Edited by x Silver cRoW x: 10/24/2016 10:37:21 PMStop making them! The COD franchise has oversaturated itself in the market. Give people a chance to miss it a little and give the development teams some time off first, then time to actually improve the game in meaningful ways. Like a long overdue game engine overhaul!

Call of duty hasn't been good since 2003 I think they should call it and move on to something else
