Light's Tricon: Part 4: Takanome Ridge

Takanome ridge: Fireteam Spitfire got in their ships and made their way to Takanome ridge, just outside the city walls. They landed near what appeared to be an old base. Though small, it seemed efficient and had plenty of battle scars. The fireteam went in to inspect the base. Yuri: So, any idea what we’re looking for or are we just gonna wander aimlessly? Taravax-7: A sword. We’re looking for a sword. Yuri: Lead on then. The team came across an odd arrangement of rocks with a fallen marking on it. Yuri: Bad? Taravax-7: I’ve only ever seem this marking a few times out in the wild. It means something along the lines of “dead kin” or “fallen brother”. Iris: When did they put a grave here? Taravax-7 pulled out his auto-rifle and surveyed the area. He noticed something invisible and aimed at it. Taravax-7: Ask them yourself. A fallen captain came out of his cloak with his hands held above his head and his swords on the ground. It said something and after a moment, Taravax-7 lowered his weapon. Yuri: Hey, uh. What’s happening? Taravax-7: He said he won’t fight over his brother’s grave. Yuri: Oh, great idea, let’s trust a king captain. Yeah, no, I think I’m putting a bullet in him. Yuri made a grab for his hand cannon but was stopped by Taravax-7 who grabbed the cannon and tossed it off to the side. Taravax-7: There’s one thing I’ve learned about the Kings. They’re true to their word. They sometimes call themselves the last of the honorable houses because they’ll go to the grave for their honor if they must. Let him pay his respects. Yuri: ….Fine. But if he looks at me funny, expect his head to pop like an ether filled balloon. Taravax-7 motioned to the captain that they wouldn’t fight. The captain moved to his brother’s grave and knelt before it. He quietly spoke something while Taravax-7 knelt next to him. Iris: Is he praying? Taravax-7: No. Well, not exactly. He’s talking about his brother’s honor. Something about a “Stone house sword”. Maybe House Stone, House of Stone? A sword from the House of Stone. Seems important to him. The captain finished and stood up, staring the grave. After a few moments the captain turned to Taravax-7 and said something and waited for a response. Taravax-7 slowly replied in the fallen’s langue. Yuri: So, we’re just talking to each other like friends now? We gonna bring him back to the tower with us? Have a drink? Hell, let’s just bring all his buddies too! Taravax-7: He asked why we’re here. I want to know about that sword. Yuri: You-.........You’re kidding me right? Iris you’re not buying this right? Iris: Well, my fluency in the Eliksni language is a little broken but I know I heard something about a sword. Taravax-7 and the captain continued their conversation. After a while, Taravax-7 bowed to the captain. It bowed back. It walked over and picked up it’s swords before disappearing again. Taravax-7 turned to Iris. Taravax-7: You said you could reserve a time for us to go to twilight gap? Iris: Yes, but might I ask why? Taravax-7: His brother had a sword which came from an old lost fallen house called the House of Stone. His brother lost it at Twilight Gap. Just so happens that blade had marks that, from his description, match the vision. Iris: I’ve heard of that house a few times in the descriptions of relics recovered from Oryx’s dreadnought. Thinking about it now, if we don’t find what we’re looking for at Twilight Gap, maybe we should check the Dungeons. Yuri: If I might say, feel very unsatisfied about not taking that captain’s head off. Seriously, That guy probably killed a good few of us before this chat. Tarvax-7: Are we so different? How many of his kind have you killed before now? Yuri: Hey, they hit first. Taravax-7: I don’t really care who stuck first. I care about putting an end to the fighting. Can you say the same? Yuri and Taravax-7 stood silent for a while. Iris: Taravax two, Yuri zero. Gotta step up your game champ. Anyway, I checked with Shaxx. There’s a match that’s just about to end. He’ll delay the next match for us. Yuri: Let’s get going then. Oh, wait, let me do somethin’ real quick. Yuri ran over to the Ranger outpost and jammed a knife with an ace of spades engraved on it into the door. Taravax-7: Why’d you do that? Yuri: Doing Cayde a favor. Taravax-7 chuckled. The team got in their ships and set course for Twilight gap.
