I picked up as many blues and greens as I could. I even had to discard a few blues to make room to pick up and dismantle greens. I purposely tried not to leave anything on the ground that would fill the postmaster and push out that awesome Fusion. Well, it didn't work. Although I do appreciate the increased drop rates, it's also a hassle. I think Bungie should take another look at how the postmaster works. Come on Bungie, don't push my "End Game" rewards out of the postmaster for a couple rare engrams. I'm surprised at the "clean your sh*t out" mentality. I go into the Forge with a couple slots per item open, and postmaster empty. But if you get lucky and stumble across a bunch of people it's really easy and convenient to stick around and burn through SIVA offerings. To go back to the tower for a cleanup and return to an empty Forge would suck. Even when trashing greens & blues, it's very easy to fill up, and as happened to you, unknowingly have stuff on the floor that go to the postmaster when returning to orbit, and have some good things pushed out. My vault is basically full because there are multiple new sets of armour, across 3 different character classes. Really isn't sufficient room for everything now. I'm also a day 1 player that has held on to the "important" stuff from year 1 and 2 so my Vault space is pretty limited. The truth is, the postmaster system is broken and I for one am pretty tired of Bungie spending their "limited resources" on all these new "vanity" items when there are legitimate issues that STILL aren't fixed. I think as a community, we'd be a lot better off if we stopped complaining about Ornaments, Shaders and Silver Dust and focused on matters that actually affect how we play this game. For those that are a little slow, or don't know, end of encounter rewards from Archon's Forge go directly to your character unless your character doesn't have an empty slot for said item (then it goes to the postmaster). Like if you are running around killing ads during an encounter and you pick up 4 green shotguns, because you know.... what else does a 385 light level Guardian need but 220 light special weapons. Anyway, say you don't have time to dismantle those green items because you're trying to complete the activity and when you kill the Perfected Servitor your special weapons are full of greens. Unbeknownst to you, you get a Forge Special weapon as a reward but because your inventory is full of useless greens you picked up during the activity, your reward goes to the postmaster..... it doesn't even show on screen that you received it. No big deal, right? It's there and you'll get it next time you go to the Tower/Iron Temple/Reef. You stay and run a couple more offerings and the greens and blues are piling up on the floor as usual and you think "maybe I should refresh my app and make sure I don't have anything good in the postmaster that is going to get pushed out by all this stuff on the ground". To your surprise.... because remember it didn't even show up on screen, there is a fusion rifle, a couple legendary engrams and you guessed it... a whole bunch of blue engrams. You think to yourself "damn, I have to get rid of all this crap on the ground or when I go to orbit, it's all going to end up in the postmaster and push out that fusion rifle and maybe some other legendaries. So you get to it, dismantling and discarding for what seems like 20 mins. You head to orbit and then to the Tower confident that you took enough steps to ensure your reward will still be there, but guess what.... you were wrong. You must have left enough useless rare engrams in a corner or more likely they were trapped by the closing dome at the end of the encounter to push your reward back into the loot pool. I wasn't using the postmaster as vault space, and I was actively trying to prevent it from happening and it still did. I honestly wonder how much this happens to people and they don't even know it has. Edit: while you're working on postmaster please also change the following : * Green warlock bonds currently go to the postmaster but should not (bug) * Add ability to dismantle directly from the postmaster * Add ability to decrypt engrams directly from the postmaster * Make a bigger postmaster

  • Yes, 100 times yes. I went through the raid on my Warlock for the first time yesterday (only third time beating raid overall). I opened every chest, cache key chests included as I had a ton saved up. We spent a long time at aksis phase 2 so I had green and blue engrams EVERYWHERE. Get done, get to the postmaster and all that's in there is a ton of greens and blues and the genesis chain. Every piece of gear I earned up to that point was gone as I could not pick anything up. It is so unrewarding and absolutely ridiculous. STOP DROPPING GREENS AND BLUES FOR ANYONE OVER 365. It is SO pointless!

  • I found a 378 impossible machines from the raid (sent to the postmaster). I return to the tower to decrypt TONS of engrams so I can grab my exotic gauntlets. I rank up with the cryptarch and accept the package. I find blue -blam!-ing gauntlets and that. Deleted. My. Exotic. Thanks.

100% agree this needs a fix. Even though I've gotten exotics from blue engrams before we need some sort of fix for archon's forge. You run more than 3 offerings and your full. This happened to me also , lost 3 nice guns legendaries because of these blue engrams. You should be able to auto-decrypt blues without going to tower. maybe if the blues just gave you rewards on the spot then you could keep rolling on the fly and turf them all. No clear answer but man does it suck to lose legendaries. Suggestion larger Postmaster or Vault, I'm a loot whore.

      • This happened to me last night. I got a sorely needed 385 armor chestplate from WoTM RAID and and saw it at the postmaster via Ishtar Commander. When I finished the last boss, I finally had time to clear out some greens in my weapon slots (which is what caused most of all my loot to have to go to the postmaster), enough to pick up a the raid auto rifle, and thought everything else would be waiting for me at the Tower. When I got there, the postmaster was filled with all rare engrams and a few legendary, but my RAID gear and exotics were gone. I did the entire raid for almost nothing. I can't tell you how infuriating this is. As a result, BUNGIE really needs to devise a better way for us to interact with the postmaster. Specifically, we should be able to delete/transfer items out of postmaster remotely. Also, we should be able to prioritize what items are pushed out. Giving us options to give priority to exotics or set light level thresholds. Meaning items that meet and/or exceed whatever light level threshold you set, will NEVER be pushed out of your vault for blue engrams... Also, to add insult to injury, I was in the middle of the raid, and decided to infuse the new Nemesis Star machine gun (381 LL) into my Harrowed Q's Terminus (368LL) and nothing happened. I swapped out the HQT to another weapon, then switched it back, and the light jumped up to 381. However, when I quit the inventory screen to return back to the game screen, I saw my that my overall LL dropped back down, and when I went back to look at my HQT, it dropped back down to its original 368LL and my Nemesis Star was nowhere to be found. Thanks Bungie...

      • It seriously interferes with the length of time I can spend in the forge....blues pushing legendary/exotics out of the PM.

      • Well... Technically it's your own fault for not clearing out your inventory and postmaster. If you notice your inventory fills up, delete stuff. If there's a lot of blues on the ground transfer gear to collect blues so that they don't go to your postmaster and overfill it

      • Would it be possible to view the postmaster as a vendor on the app and transfer weapons and armor directly to character or vault. I think that would help a little. Still need to fix the over all issue

      • I agree there should be a system to prioritize items. But then again we can't even organize our vault so I'm not surprised

      • Lost two exotics last night because of this. Nobody wants to leave in the middle of the raid to perform housekeeping. This is something the app should be able to handle at the VERY LEAST. Other wise they need to increase postmaster holdings to triple its original size.

      • The simple facts are that Destiny is running past it's used by date, and that 95% of the limitations we're seeing now are due Bungie having to make it playable on previous generation consoles. The base game is from 2014 and designed around the limitations of the 360 and PS3, because all platforms used the same servers and base architecture. Now we're 2 years in....with 2 massive expansions built upon that 2014 base....it's just starting to show its age and the stresses that all the new content is placing on the various systems. Blue Engrams should auto-decrypt at post 365 now....because all their good for is Cryptarch rep, and he gives you trash anyway, so once you make the blues auto-decrypt you can then introduce the biggest feature that would solve this: Auto-Dismantle. Putting that in solves alot of problems and streamlines the endgame. Give settings for 340, 365, 385 and maybe 395, and make it so that everything that hits your inventory gets auto-dismantled if it is at or under the light level you've selected. It will stop your postmaster getting filled with trash, and with free up inventory space so you can stay out for longer. Also increas all Material stacks to 999 or more. Sadly, Destiny wasn't supposed to be getting new content past Sept 2016....and the foundations are starting to show their limitations.

      • How hard is it to just check the postmaster and keep your inventory clear of blues? If you lose legendaries and exotics because of negligence, its your fault. They don't need to change the way the postmaster has worked, since vanilla, to overcome your lack of foresight.

        • The problem is two-fold: 1) The drop rates seem to have increased substantially, at least for some activities. Even if you ignore the greens. 2) The leveling system makes much of the drops largely irrelevant once you're past certain points. Plus the bonus effect that many people have their vaults completely choked with old and new stuff while trying to decide which one they like more. Archon's forge is really fast-paced activity that creates drops at an alarming rate. Also, a two-hour strike run can also easily fill up your postmaster. This is just plain bad design: The streak bonus and the timed rep boosters encourage you to stay on the playlist, but the postmaster penalizes you for not stopping to organize your drops.

          • I feel like i need to defend this guy. I have done Archons forge for 30 mins straight cause there was a few of us there. By the time we were done the floor looked like xmas lights all over the area. So yes ur postmaster gets full pretty quick. And yes i have lost out on legendary engrams and rewards to see the blue engrams taking up all the space. So to all those people that know it all. You dont.

          • Unpopular opinion but you are genuinly bad at the game if your post master is full. If you are too lazy to clean it than that is bad item managment on your part. Get your shit together i have never had this problem

            • This is not only a quality of life issue this current expansion suffers from, it can have ramifications on actual gameplay as well. In particular during phase two where more than one wipe may occur. Now to be fair, no team should be wiping to the point where there are fifty thousand green and blue engrams laying on the ground in the first place. But it can happen, especially with the revolving door of lfg randoms popping in and out and leaving when they see a speed run cannot be accomplished. It would not surprise me at all if players at Archons forge and the raid spent as much time dismantling engrams as they do shooting at enemies. It's a catch 22, Bungie said ok, you want loot, well we are going to give it to you, problem is, as is usually the case with them, they went a little overboard.

                • Greens should stop dropping at 40 PERIOD. In General the Postmaster and Vault must be expanded. Following that either make an option to set retention hierarchy, Have gear go to another character with space or auto delete low light gear from inventory.

Fully agree and very well put. Same situation here: Not enough vault space for all the new gear (I didn't even claim one reward from my record book yet because of that). Already lost several archon's forge rewards exactly like described in the post. Also , you often don't have time to collect and dismantle everything, if the next encounter is started immediately. What's supposed to be a funny monster bashing forces you out to clear your postmaster after a few runs and upon return, the forge is empty again. This is simply annoying.
