What do you guys think is the most lore friendly class for the story?

Pretty self explanatory. You may explain why this question is stupid too :/. But I'm just curious... Seeing as in Destiny lore warlocks seem to be the most powerful... Idk I'll let you guys chat.

  • It's set up so that all three work.. Though I can't reply to this thread without endorsing my favorite class, Warlock.

  • All are interesting but I like Titans the best. Titan lore fits perfectly into what makes a Titan a Titan. We are the wall that protects this city from the darkness. We held the battle of six fronts without a single loss. We surrender ourselves to the cause entirely, that's why zavala is so damn serious. A good example is Kabr the legion less getting stuck in the vault of glass and sacrificing his very being to create the aegis of light. A Titans duty is never finished, Saladin kept his watch in solitude for centuries. I dunno, Titan lore just completely personifies the essence of Titans.

  • Here's how I see it. Warlocks can do neat space magic. But they are all scholars and when you think about it they are basically the nerds and college professors of destiny. Titans are battle tacticians and are the commanders and the "lets get stuff done" type of people. What they stand for is cool but they aren't very interesting themselves. Hunters aren't SUPER important and don't have lots of interesting background or ideologies. But in my opinion are the "coolest" type of guardians. I mean come on, they have cloaks, gas masks, use throwing knives, and roam the wilderness. They are basically Han Solo, Indiana Jones, and Bear Grills combined to form one cool motherf****r.

    • Hunters have some of the most interesting characters in both the history and present day. You have Dredgen Yor and his corruption by Thorn, his killing of Jaren Ward and Shin Malphur who's story builds to avenging Ward's death. Then you have Cayde-6 who both has an interesting back story, being one of the humans involved with the research at both the Ishtar Collective where he had a crush on Maya Sundaresh (who many believe is the Stranger, another Hunter or somebody who has a hunter appearance at least as she is not a guardian) as well as Clovis Bray where he was turned into an Exo, a place we now know is tied to all sorts of dirty practices and was the birthplace of SIVA, and his more recent exploits including how he became the hunter vanguard with the bet and the dare. Eris is also a hunter and her story is one that has not only been important to the game thus far but with her tie to the queen is an unfinished one. Lastly we have Efrideet, long believed dead, has returned to take up the mantle of the Iron Banner and who tells us stories of a settlement of peaceful guardians somewhere out there in the stars.

      • Well dear, since the story is MMO in style any and all classes fit. Just like in other MMO stories a Mage or a warrior can be the main class.

      • As a Hunter myself, I'd say that hunters are cursed. We ALWAYS die whenever we do something. Titans built the wall, so they are basically Donald Trump and now the Fallen have to pay for the wall. Warlocks are the weird ones. Toland was basically obsessed with the Hive and there secrets.

      • Hunters have interesting lore and flavor texts on their armor. It has been pointed out many times how they are ruthless and efficient killers. They're not just scouts. One of the RoI cloaks states that the bloody culls performed by hunters were instrumental in Saint-14's crusade against the Fallen. Pretty badass.

      • I think the lore needs all three classes. Yes, even... (shudders) warschlocks.

Hunters are the lore b1+€#es. We are always, always, killed. Jaren Ward, Pahanin Errata, Dredgen Yor, even the HUNTER -blam!-ING VANGUARD Andal Brask! If there's a Hunter going anywhere, we die. Titans (and less so Warlocks) get the Golden treatment, they either go down killing everything (Kabr, Jolder, Saint-14), or they help other guardians to fight a larger threat (Praedyth, Toland).

          • Titans were the first guardians. Built the wall of the last city. Pretty important.

          • Lore wise, Warlocks are the most interesting as they are always wanting to expand their knowledge and understanding of the worlds they explore and the beings they encounter. Hunters are very much outcasts and explorers and are mainly used for scouting and recon missions. Titans, in my opinion, are the least interesting. They're just muscle and are used for their brute force and high defense value. There's my two cents.

Warlocks were the "first" to use light as a weapon. They are arguably the premise of all of the supers in this game. Hunters in lore have more of a... Questionable background in terms of personality. Titans probably have the most "friendly" background. (Added note: prior to RoI) the idea of Titans in Destiny seems to be how most people would believe a Guardian would be.
