Destiny 2 Character Transfer Solution (Please Read Bungie)
If my level resets and I lose all my weapons in Destiny 2 that is ok. However, you must provide worthwhile rewards to Destiny 1 players. To make the transfer for D1 to D2 player palatable I think 4 things should happen:
1. You should provide an infusible LEGENDARY armor set to all Destiny account holders. This armor will be in the same fashion Iron Lord armor works, only you will just get the armor packages given in your postmaster and not have to unlock it.
2. Give out a Destiny 1 player exclusive shader and emblem. If you're feeling really squirrely also a ship and sparrow.
3. Generate a quest for Destiny 1 players to get a rebalanced Vex Mythocast to further the nostalgia. Make sure to make it good but not OP. It will be overused at first because of ease of access but after a few months it should be leveled out with other usable primaries.
4. Most importantly DO NOT make us rank up our skill tree for old subclasses except for new skills you may add to them. We don't want to have to go through the grind of re-ranking our earned subclass perks.
I think implementing these things will keep the community happy and allow you guys to reset all Light Levels and gear without too much pushback. An emblem for Destiny 1 players just isn't going to cut it this time. The rewards have to be unique and worthwhile.

Don't care for some emblem or ship, but I do care about our weps etc being rendered useless, AGAIN! I say give us our 3 characters with what armor we have equipped at time of drop(UN worked up) as far as weps? Put all weps we have still got on us/ in bank, put those things in a kiosk, and let each character pick 1 of each slot to keep, after all three have their choices, poof on the kiosk. All saying it's a new game etc. I get that, but, D2 is set in future, and guardians live a long time apparently, I see no reason why our characters can't be brought along and stack with the 3 new classes/ characters of D2 for a total of 6, and b able to bring weps. (this will ensure for bungie that the grind is substantial for all that want) non D1 players only get the 3 new classes( and freaking announce it and might get some biters on grabbing D1 before launch and pad your already fatass pockets some more) It wasn't fair to the faithful to fuuk us out of yr 1 gear, I personally feel we need payback! Give the faithful what they deserve, stop the fooking nerfs,fix the servers, no more damage ref/ sbmm in banner( got plenty of the kiddie compensation in the kiddie crucible), and I think it could be the biggest and best game in decades...... AGAIN!!!! Til we meet on the bannerfield guardians. / bow

1 ReplyI was really hoping Destiny was going to be modeled after the standard MMO in that you can build your character and your legend over the course of many years. I'm pretty bummed that everything I've earned or RNG'd my way into is about to go poof into the ether, only to have to start from scratch all over again.

3 RepliesI think that's too much, a shader and/or an emblem are enough. I've seen people talking a lot about character transferring and no other game lets you take your stuff with you into the sequel, you can transfer your character but everything else should stay behind.

15 RepliesThe only thing I REALLY want is to play as the same guardian as in d1, I have created a bond with my guardian that have killed aetheon, crota, skolas, oryx and aksis. I'll be so dissapointed if we are some random new guardian instead of our old badasses.

If you think about it, Bungee pulled a similar thing in year 2 when they made us re earn everything and still got away with it.

3 RepliesMay I ask why you want end level gear at the beginning of the game? I'm not attempting to be negative. The cosmetic make sense and do enough to have destiny veterans stand out. Honestly all I care about is that it comes out on PC.

If I lose all I've worked for over these past 2 years I'm done. I'm still waiting for an etheric light redo so I can use my original iron banner gear that took months to earn.

Reminds me of when my son was little and started crying in a store like a wimp when he tried on a hat he found. "If we bought this I would maybe get bullied cause it's so ugly, boohoooo". 5 RepliesAt the end of the day, resetting our characters has to make sense. We've just become Iron Lords. That's lore, that's where we should begin. We should begin as Iron Lords, as our own characters ready to tackle the next thing on the agenda. Some time needs to pass between the Siva crisis and the next base game. If we're going to use new classes and subclasses, it needs to be a complete rework of the already existing classes and subclasses. We still need to be Warlocks, Titans and Hunters but from a lore standpoint, we can't throw away what we were. We need to evolve what we currently are. It would make sense for the classes to find new ways to apply their light as a weapon. The current gearing system is perfect, Infusion is awesome. We get to cherry pick our favorite gear. We need to start with low level purple basic infusable Iron Lord armor and weapons as our same old characters and their newly developed tricks. Armor shaders, emblems and exotic blueprints should be the only things that carry forward. Through the entirety of Destiny, our exotics should still be available, but re-released through different seasons. They are part of our legacy. Exotics should evolve to benefit our new abilities if the abilities they bolster are removed or completely reworked. As for new gear, it's Bungie's job to design appealing pieces of gear we will want to use. I'm sure they'll be able to do it because they have done so time and again. We CANNOT scrap our guardians and pretend they never existed.

1 ReplyThey should build on the ornaments and have a set of D1 legacy armor that has an ornament for every major activity in Y1-3, and it should be infuseable but provide no initial advantage. All raid exotics should also be brought forward as well and have a quest to get them that's easier for D1 players, but still possible for D2 players with extra work. Finally, all shaders, emblems, sparrows, ships, etc. should be brought forward since they're all cosmetic anyway.

I hope I'm wrong but we'll see. Look at all the salty people replying to this with anger as if the OP screw their mothers in front of them. You kids relying with butthurt comments are the "self entitled whiners" because you all think your opinions matter more than the OP's. But in reality none of your opinions matter. The truth hurts doesn't it?
