For a raid weapon that does a little less than expected, you could at least think this would have been easier. The one thing that holds you back from doing this quest is having the proper fireteam, which messes things up.
You can have a ton of friends who get the engine and all that, but when they finish the engine there's nothing you can do but wait...... it begins with the fact that you need a fireteam, with all 3 classes, meaning you can't do it with 3 of the same class. When you are finally done with that, you have to go sync it and when you have no one to do it with, you're stuck right then and there. You need a Warlock, Titan, and Hunter (or just the other 2 since you'll have yourself included) and you have to do the engine together. You begin by typing in your part of it, but if you don't have your fireteam at that point, you're stuck until you DO get a fireteam that not only has the engine, but has different classes. Those are hard by themselves. When you finally get through it you continue going on about it and doing the exact same thing, only to realize that if your team finishes without you, you can't complete the quest. It's less than likely anyone else will be able to get to your part, and when they do, they'll have to go through it too.
I'll say it again, but differently - One of the things that ruins this quest is the fact that you need a fireteam. You can't get the weapon (which by the way, does less than expected) if your fireteam leaves you. And really, it's not like its flawless raider.
Note: If you have the weapon and think I'm butthurt, think again, as this quest is still hard to complete in every way and something has to be done about that. It should be like the sleeper, finding codes and all that. It should be able to be done by yourself. It should be able to have all that, because the weapon actually looks similar to the sleeper simulant. Not everyone is available at a time and not everyone will be able to complete the quest if this is the case.
Please, change this.

Since I now have 2 of the outbreak guns and used lfg to get teams for both of them.... I will disagree with you.

Still seems easier than the necrocasm as that was sheer luck in the sense. For some it was x2 on the luck. The monitors are relatively easy to find once you know where they are. The 4th you really just need a team willing to take the 5 mins it takes to open it. I'm sure there will be a weird sweet zone to be able to get this. Now most are rushing to get it or get through the raid to prepare for hard mode. Once most have it and the mechanics become solid I believe many will be ok with doing them during the run. Eventually once it's old news many will go back to rushing through the raid and getting the fourth monitor will be too time consuming. I just hope I can get one before than. I plan on trying later this week.

What a cry baby. There's no part of the game that requires you to have or use the OP. If the quest is too difficult for you that's your problem, don't do it.
-
I did it yesterday (minus the last 2 steps of the quest) and it really wasn't that bad. After we got the quest in the raid I just ran most of the quest with 2 people I raided with. I think this is actually easier to obtain than Sleeper Stimulant was. That quest line was possibility. Waiting on those @$%#@! Warsats

LOL. Find new friends man.
-
One more thing. This quest was made for the community to figure out and enjoy. Not some loaner spoiled brat who grew up with everything handed to him. The community figured it out and the community is working together to complete the steps. Some of us want nice things that are not just handed to all the lazy gimme gimme types. Bungie did this right and I'm proud to be part of the community working together to get this gun.
-
Best time to get it is now while everyone is working on it. If you miss out then it is only your fault. The community has put out excellent guides and even an easy to use calculator for the last step. Don't miss out. Otherwise don't complain about it one damn bit.
-
Stop whining. I'm a casual player and I got Outbreak Prime in just one day. Easy with destinylfg.
-
And the gun itself is very underwhelming, all the nano tech perks have a cool down (imagine firefly with a cool down lol), and even when active, it just tickles the enemies, even with small arms active....
-
I honestly enjoyed the journey to get the weapon more than the weapon itself that being said I still love the weapon I just think of the whole thing as a unique experience to be enjoyed kind of like climbing Felwinters peak.
-
I won't get it. I'm not very good at raiding and I doubt I'd be able to put together a good team of titans, warlocks and hunters. Oh well, plenty of other stuff to keep me going.
-
Everyone can do it, but not for another 3-6 months when they are 385+ light.
-
This is why I'll never obtain Outbreak Prime.
-
I didn't know Donald Trump played Destiny.

"For a raid weapon that does a little less than expected" How are people missing that this primary does more dps to raid bosses than snipers and even ghorn? This weapon can only be acquired via raid and quest so it's fitting that it's a boss a$$ raid weapon. As far as the quest goes. If your group breaks up and you only finished part of it, just get to the point where you need to input a code with the fireteam and post lfg or ask your friends that have the weapon already for help. They can reacquire the fragment to input the code with you. The quest is really quite easy, it's just finding the fireteam for codes that can be a bit of a bottleneck. Fortunately OP owners can hop in quick and assist.
-
It is an irritating part since it will inevitably be impossible for someone to do because there isn't an equal number of each class playing. You need your 3 set from the very start.
-
Not everyone will be able to do it, but it's an exotic quest, it should be difficult. Imo, the gjally quest should have been just as difficult.
-
My only problem is that you do all that work for an average gun.
-
Like all other weapons in Destiny, it really doesn't matter. If they made it right, it must be nerfd. If they made it wrong, try will nerf everything else until it shines, then Boom! As I said, it really doesn't matter!
-
You can pick up the engine parts again once you've finished the quest to help other groups through the puzzle part, so I don't see what the problem is. Its good that not everyone will get it.
-
Still better than the "Wait until next armsday" step that was in nearly every exotic quest in TTK. I'd much rather deal with binary coding than wait a week lol.
-
People complained that Sleeper didn't live up the the hype and was too easy and the quest was too dull. Destiny gives Outbreak Prime an incredible quest with incredible community involvement to figure out, but it's too hard. Yall mofos are crazy.

Edited by anacreon: 10/1/2016 6:18:37 PMSo Necrochasm? So ToM? The raid exotics have been underwhelming. You are lieing if you think ToM wasn't underwhelming.
-
Apparently, no one on ps4 plays as a titan in PvE. Lfg is full of "need a titan for Siva engine" and it's pretty annoying not being able to find a titan. Now, I have to run the raid even more times now just to get a titan from a friend to be able to continue the quest. Everything up to the Siva engine was awesome and need more of. Needing one of each class sucks. No more of that.
-
Nope. This is one quest that is worthy of the title "Exotic".
-
Not at all, and I hope that more quests are like this.
