Not sure if this will work for anyone or not but my wife and I play on the same network and have not had a single problem like I see so many complaining about. I know there is an issue with Bungie's net code but if you can make some tweaks and get it to work then it's worth it.
My setup.
I have a linksys e3500 router.
Both xboxes are hardwired to the router.
Both xboxes have been renamed from their default names and have static IPs with DNS set to match what my router is pulling from the modem and default gateway set to the router's IP 192.168.1.1. (Cox Cable ISP)
mine and my wife's Xbox static IPs are 192.168.1.10 and .11
DHCP is enabled and addresses start at 192.168.1.50 and I only have it set to allow 15 devices at the moment. ( this should be irrelevant as the consoles are set to static IPs)
Mac address clone is disabled
IPSec, PPTP and L2TP passthrough options all enabled(this should irrelevant as it relates to VPNs but it is what I have set for VPN purposes for my job)
UPNP is enabled
DMZ disabled.
SPI Firewall protection is enabled
Filter Anonymous Internet Request is enabled
Filtetr Multicast is disabled
Filter internet Nat redirection is disabled
Filter IDENT (Port 113) is enabled
No web filters are enabled.
CTF (cut through frowarding) is enabled
QoS not in use.
Up/down: 7.1/74.2
latency: 42
Packet loss: 0
Like I said this is the setup I have running and we have not had any problems. This may or may not help some people. I hope it does. Good Luck.
