Year 3 Thorn
Does anybody have this weapon yet? i'm trying to get all the Rise of Iron exotic quests done.

I have it. Finished the quest yesterday. Got the start of the quest from turning in the iron bounties.

No penalties for deaths in the crucible phase and just open up the chest after the redone phogoth strike. Not even an epic modifier This is a joke Bungie. And an affront to all year 1 players who earned this gun the hard way By the way, my first Thorn was attained on my hunter, and also before I started raiding (Struggle was real) The hardest part is getting a skeleton key to drop

3 RepliesI did all last weeks bounties even went as far as to reset my main (which is a hunter) and redid this weeks for a total of 28 bounties from shiro (aiming for iron book completion) and nothing but a legendary yet I have a friend who barely plays this game, turns in one bounty and boom, thorn quest for him. Now Imma be honest I'm salty really really salty at the fact that I grinded the bounties especially the siva offerings not to use the thorn but to get it for the "a life exotic" milestone and he gets just like that. I get the feelin that that's gonna be the last thing in my book to get completed.

I would have had it last night, but it was late and I had to work this morning. The first step in the quest dropped when I turned in a random Iron bounty to the scout at the temple. Then I had to kill a crap-ton of fallen, which isn't hard. Then the void kills in the crucible (which I was worried about getting done before Trials this weekend) didn't take as long as I expected. I went in with a Atheon's Epilogue, a void Conspiracy theory, a void rocket launcher, and running Nightstalker. I'm sure more than one guardian I killed was annoyed that a year 1 primary took them down. But it only took running Supremecy for about 3 hours to get all the kills. At least you don't lose points for dying (like you did in year one). Now I just have to run the Phogoth strike with a skeleton key (which I have from doing the Sepkis strike on my 3rd character). I will have it tonight.

I got mine yesterday, I got the quest from turning in a Shiro-6 bounty, it was pretty easy all 3 void weapons, and void walker. Hardest part would have been the skeleton key bit, but I was keeping one in hopes to use it in the nightfall, glad I did not.

Easy quest, just time consuming and slightly grindy. Performs wonderfully in the Crucible, the DoT is a joke now with its many nerfs and the artifact that negates it but it's still a very good hand cannon. If nothing else it instills fear into people in the crucible, hit them once and watch how they flee the fight or frantically pull out a shotty and try and bum-rush you.

2 RepliesJust dropped for me yesterday, bounty from Shiro. Took about 2.5 hours to complete the whole thing. Void crucible kills still part of it, longest part. Didn't seem like deaths slowed progress at all this time around.

2 RepliesI've got it. Quest for it is simple not much of a grind like yr1. You need 125 crucible kills using void damage ( I used word of crota, shotgun and rocket launcher) so I had all 3 guns with void and ran defender, then final step is summoning pits strike on moon set at 320 light. I did it in a couple of hours. Oh and private matches do not count, but death in crucible does not reset it.

So don't worry about it being abused its balanced but I think it feels a tad weak. Overnerfed in my opinion. The quest line was a joke compared to Year 1. Year 1's Thorn Quest was WAY more intense and difficult.
