A Vexing Question to Bungie:

I've written a couple of short reviews of the game since RoI launch with an attempt at being fair as I could be. My bias is I'm a solo PvE player, so it's fair to state this up front. While I'm enjoying the new scenery and many of the new weapons, something is really beginning to mar the experience in a major way, and we aren't even a week into play - the further entrenching of RNG into areas that should not be RNG. The use of hard-to-find skeleton keys for strike chests guarantees that most runs through strikes we've done thousands of times will be wasted efforts where progression goes. If you want to level your characters, strikes won't help. You could farm patrols more efficiently. I might run three per week for the marks, but that's it. Archon Forge? That's even worse! I would love to have been in the design meeting when it was suggested that what the game needed was a mode where players had an RNG chance to enter, an RNG chance to get the activity they needed for the weekly bounty, and the absolute certainty that death meant getting kicked completely out - AND LOCKED OUT OF - the activity. OH! and let's make it so you can only carry one entry pass at a time. What you have here, ladies and gentlemen, is a game mode Bungie apparently wanted no one to play. They've RNG'd entry! I don't know about the rest of you, but I reject that concept in its entirety. What's next? RNG to enter raids? Strikes? Nightfalls? Not this player. I don't care what it gives. I don't care about the weekly bounties, I don't care about the rewards, to me this issue is bigger than all of that. I will not support Bungie actually gating their events for one very obvious reason - to slow progression. That I'm a solo player has nothing to do with this at all. This is to the core stupid game design, and it wouldn't matter if I had a fire team of three or six, it would be exactly the same. It doesn't matter to me whether or not I am successful when I go in, it is the principle of the matter. Entry to such an event shouldn't require RNG, period. Bad move, Bungie. Very bad move.

TBH this is probably the best time to be a solo player because all you have to do that is Lv up packages. I've done the raid the light Lv increase you get from it is really bad ((but good quality loot)) our friend was 347 light when we started raiding after we finished he was 353 light. Packages are the way to go.
