Levelling up past 365? Seems completely impossible.
Was doing heroic strikes, getting barely above my light level, maybe a point higher on the rarest of times. Archon's Forge? SIVA Offerings seem to never drop often. Also, 3 man only able to patrol and do that seems to be near pointless. Only carrying one at a time is also really ridiculous.
Only getting 365 gear from raid, even though I am 365.
Crucible? Great if you get Legendaries, but hardly great for much else.
Nightfall, RNG dependant at most of the time.
Exotics? Yeah, great, when they drop.
What are you actually wanting me to do? You want me to play your activities, as much as I enjoy them already, this grind is pretty damn severe and is slowly draining away the hype I had for what is a pretty great expansion.
Loving RoI, but this is just really tough, I would appreciate a few pointers.

I hate to say, its called a grind for a reason. I thought I would hit a wall at 365, so I popped faction rep for packages and then edged them all to the point just before a package, saved exotic engrams in the vault. Once I hit the "wall" I used one character to open the packages then dropped some motes and got more packages and then did exotics. Of course always putting the highest light level on before I opened anything. And I have had no problem climbing that 365 wall. It just sounds like you do not want to put the effort or time to do what it takes. Mind you to get every faction on all 3 guardians with a package waiting and then edge then just before a package, save exotics in the vault before this expansion dropped meant that I put in a good amount of effort and time. Participation trophies really aren't a thing in Destiny for the most part.

Nope, just a grind...Faction packages, strike rewards/chests, exotic engrams, raid, etc. You'll get there eventually.

Uhh.. I'm now 384, have not touched the raid, nor PvP weekly bounties. Typically it's artifacts or ghost shells that hold people back, due to rarity of said items. You can't progress if one your items is lagging behind by 5 points, because the rest will basically drop at your average light level. My brother is suffering this issue because the game refuses to give him an artifact from a 365+ source.

Here's what I'd did: Played about 50 strikes saving exotic engrams and skeleton keys (got 5). I saved my legendary engrams until I was 355, then turned them in. Once I hit 365, I leveled my factions about 9-10 times with donations, went back to strikes, used keys strategically on missions where I needed specific armor pieces (helm, gauntlets, primary). I then made donations, then turned in my exotics after. I hit 372 on Sunday and ran the raid on Monday. I ended up taking surplus gear and leveling an alt to 370 before even running the story and hopped into a raid. Again, I played the game, both figuratively and literally.

The grind is REAL..... My Titan is now 386, (without doing the ROI Raid as of yet) yes 386. The light level is not currently capped at 385 as we were all told. It was suppose to be raised to 400 with the release of the Hard Mode of the ROI Raid, but it apparently it is active NOW. Note: I started saving up Exotic Engrams about two months ago and had 85 of them in my vault to assist me with this task.

Play crucible it drops 369s all the time for me

Do strikes and opening the chests at the end can give you better gear, factions drop things above your light level, and on strikes you can used 3oC which can drop exotic engrams that then decrypt higher than your light.

It's made to be that way, I farm packages and rank up that way.

1 ReplyMy friend is 385 and hasn't finished a raid yet. It takes a lot of packages, being creative in your activities to maximize packages and using motes/materials etc. to rank up factions

How did I make it to 370 by time the raid opened?

Strike blues and legendary engrams cap at 365. You need to pop exotic engrams or open the chest at the end of strikes to progress. Crucible also drops up to 385 legendaries so that's an option for guns and class items. Other then that there's the raid. Keep in mind this all drops relative to your current light level. I've also noticed that once you hit a 5 light level increment (340-345-350 etc) that all of your year needs to be at that minimum to continue to progress.

I'm doing fine gaining 1-2 light a day after 365. Just chill and stuff. Wait for the raid and that bumps u a a lot

1 ReplyNot at all impossible. Skeleton Keys Exotic engrams Faction package Crucible package Vanguard package Nightfall Archon Forge Raid Those are all the ways to keep going past 365 that I can think of.
