Eververse should not be RNG

If it means charging more for what you actually want, then charge more but the RNG element is and has been bullshit since you launched it.

  • I agree. I might would actually consider buying a emote if it was guaranteed.

  • This wouldn't be so bad if they made ornaments permanent. But if you delete gear with an ornament, the ornament itself is gone too, until you get another. I feel like there should have been some sort of kiosk system for the ornaments you've already unlocked, for both weapons and armor sets. I got the ornament for my hunter days of iron chest piece, thinking the int/disc/str stats were set in stone from the first time you pull them, but then read afterwords that you can get different variations. Max int. and str. is pretty key for my play style. So I essentially blew money, thankfully not much, on a piece I wasn't happy with. I wouldn't be quite as irritated had the ornaments been a permanent thing you can keep upon unlocking.

  • Couldn't it essentially be classified as gambling, considering you're using real money for a chance at rewards? I didn't think a "teen" rated game would allow such a thing.

    • While I'm not opposed to it being changed to be more consistent, I'm okay with the way Eververse works now. Battlefield and Mass Effect 3 did the same thing, and it never bothered me Hell, I'm just happy that most Eververse items have a chance to drop in other places

    • To me it's no different then buying a lottery ticket. And you're agreeing to their terms when you do so. If you don't like it then don't buy it. Simple. Or better yet play a different game that does give you exactly what you pay for like "Warframe".

      • You are so right and I agree with you. But if you could buy only what you wanted than I would have only bought three iron ornaments instead of buying 5 radiant treasure boxes and getting three repeats for a truth skin, two other gun skins and some silver dust. Thus prompting me to buy more to hope to get the iron ornaments but I said -blam!- this and -blam!- Bungievision. Same reason we only get one free radiant box a week now instead of the previous three. All they care about is money. That's why we don't really have new interesting perks, and reskinned vendor arms and gear. Still piss poor matchmaking, no in game lfg. Because why spend money making the game better when you can spend very little money nerfing everything and paying those two clowns to say something on these forums every now and then. That's why the taken armor set was a rng box instead of a shader. So they could get the fans to spend money on these boxes for an rng chance at getting if they are lucky a piece of taken gear.

People could also stop paying to participate in the RNG. That'd go further than anything that could be said on the forums.

            • I agree. Since I will not be using many of the ornaments offered, for example, I should be able to pick which ones I want. The Emotes work that way, why not the ornaments?

              • The gimmick works the same way as every other game. It starts with RNG vanity items, then it moves to RNG Pay2Win. The reason they keep it RNG is so that you have to spend more than 60 bucks to become really good Standard strategy

I agree, should not be RNG at all... but Bungie continues to bet on people throwing money at the screen. If it weren't RNG, then the people who are obsessed could get what they want for a set price. Since RNG is involved, they could spend everything they have, and still not get what they want. For whatever odd reason, Sony sent me a $10 PSN code in my email last week, so I used it at Eververse (why not? free money.) I got the $9.99 silver package, bought 5 Radiant Treasures & 1 pack of Vanguard Rep. Received 1 of the Iron Ornament, got 2 for Truth, 1 for Nemesis Star, and 1 for Zhalo (the black one). So, either getting the random Xbox or PS cards as a gift, or whenever I receive those codes, that will be the only time I buy these things.

                  • Yes I have to agree with this. At least give us a choice to purchase the item like emotes or with a lower cost option of an RNG box. I would also like an option to gift items to friends in my clan. If I get a skin for a weapon that I don't have or don't like I should be able to give it to someone that does. I seems a waste of silver or should I say money to have to keep scrapping items I pay real money for simply because I get multiples or don't want it.

                  • Totally agree. RNG on s purchased item sucks. If you're spending money on something in game you should be able to get what you want, not having to keep trying to get it.

                  • Said this since Eververse launched: I will NEVER make an in-game purchase via microtransaction if RNG is involved. I will however, heavily consider "throwing money at the screen" if I can choose EXACTLY which item I wish to purchase.

                    • I'd be fine with something like, 50 silver = RNG, 200 silver= pick your ornament (or whatever). The gambling point brought up by others is interesting though, by definition I suppose it's true.
