The sniper rifle damage nerf was completely unnecessary and only screws over PvE players...
Do we seriously not matter at all...?
Edit: I'm only talking about the damage nerf. I have no issues with the flinch and aim assist nerf.

Aoife from the Gunsmith is unchanged. Cracking rifle, even outshines my Longbow. Just expand your horizons a bit.
-
Pve? You mean that super easy game mode where you could use any gun and be successful? I think you'll live.
-
Honestly, snipers nearly trivialize PvE encounters. All I needed to do was find a good place with cover, equip black spindle, and unload into a bosses face. Pop a synth and repeat. I welcome a little more difficulty in PvE.
-
It brings diversity to pve. All you ever see is 1000yd stare type snipers and the occasional black spindle in pve.

Bungie tries to make destiny a competitive PvP game, because let's be honest: PvP-Streamers/ Youtubers are what keeps Destiny alive during the content drought. They made a MLG-Stream a few days ago, even paid all expenses for the streamers/youtubers to come and play their game. In my opinion, unless they seperate pve and pvp, this game will never be balanced weapon wise. Watch them nerf the ornaments a few weeks after RoI releases because some will be too dominant ... Bungie (Luke stiff and jon noobnoobski) have a very strange philosophy regarging the weapon and class rebalancing and they don't care about pve. Pve is to attract more people with cool ideas like "become legend" or "become an iron lord" but in the end if you don't pvp, the pve content is pretty shallow. With RoI we will probably have one relevant raid again. People have been begging bungie to update the old ones, even if drops were only shaders/emblems. But bungie refuses to update the old content because pve is not where the money lies ...
-
They're still the strongest option.

Edited by PuRe Messoric: 9/16/2016 1:07:57 AMa whole new expansion, including, but not limited to; * new PVE based storyline *new PVE enemies *new PVE raid * new PVE strikes a whole bunch of other things added, such as more PVE content yeah, I think bungie hates its PVE players, Im over here playing on my new pvp based expansions, oh wait, there are none. oh, i'll just play on the new pvp gametyp- oh wait, wrong again, well theres private matches, and about 3-4 new maps coming out, as apposed to all of that new pve content that just shows how much bungie hates pve players, its not like every single expansion for destiny revolves around PvE, am I right?

Completed King's Fall with no probs or anyone whining on my fireteam this week. OP is mad cuz bad...

PVE Lives Matter

Higher light levels kinda countered it, wish pvp didn't affect pve again but let's be real a full team using snipers on bosses did make it kinda easy, at first we needed it but now we really don't and I welcome change. For pvp tho stillpiecer still ends super'd guardians under 9 armour just an FYI

People with sniper rifles are killing Warpriest in 1 aura. People with sniper rifles are killing Golgoroth in 60 seconds. Do you seriously think that Ammo nerf and damage nerf hurt PvE? Or maybe you just want to have an infinite ammo and guns that oneshot oryx? Stop complaining, there is no problem. If those nerfs hurt you, that mean that you are really bad in PvE. It is not bungie's fault that you can't handle it.

Roses are red Violets are blue I have 5 fingers, and the middle one is for you.
-
Use spindle
-
The nerf is obviously due to pve fallen enemy types like sevitors and bosses like sepiks....... Front facing bosses and majors with huge hit boxes that have slow fire rate that don't flinch you........ Of any thing the nerf to damage was because of this, the same reason they took out ice breaker the same reason they killed the black hammer
-
I know right! They even added a whole DLC including artifacts that have amazing special features!! But you know, F*** the PvE players

That or they simply don't understand what it is they are doing or what we would like. When in reality they considered the effects of the changes to both play spaces. Then went ahead with it because they thought it was all right. To everybody, their ideas for how things play are the issue. The two spaces are already separate. Even if you believe they aren't what do you think is going to happen should they fit your arbitrary criteria for that? You think they are all the sudden going to make the best game known to mankind? I'll tell you right now that won't happen, because fundamentally PvE is the way it is because that's how they want it. Get real guys. Which by the way I don't like how either of the spaces play.

Yep. I was surprised how much sniper ammo I burnt through on this week's nightfall. I've found myself having to use a lot more synth lately.
-
Edited by AlamoCity: 9/14/2016 5:57:34 PMI'm still one shoting enemies with snipers in PvE.
-
Edited by residentweasel7: 9/15/2016 1:30:10 PMI'm not, snipers didn't need ANY nerfs at all. I get it, your secretly trying to turn destiny into another Call of Duty, and say a big screw you to PVE players. I know you hate to hear this, but there will be NO balance till PVE and PVP are separate.
-
Nope. PvE hasn't mattered one little bit since Bungie adopted the philosophy that PvP changes will work equally well in PvE. Never mind that each PvP-centric update eviscerates the way the game plays in PvE. Nope; in their minds, PvP is the only thing that matters, and PvE is just going to have to deal with what ever they flush down the shitter... I've never seen a developer shit on a majority of their player base like Bungie does. SMH
-
Bump. For once, JUST ONCE, I wish Bungie would lay down the hammer and say "this time, PVP players can suck it." Just so PVP players know the anguish PVE players deal with every time a tool is taken out of our toolbox.
-
this is a "choosing favorites" effect. bungie will see what is most popular. in this case crucible. so bungie will always want to keep crucible alive and well so no one gets mad. but it effects pve sadly. so im confused why they are not spreading their attention.

-
only screws over PvE players...
Well I mean it's not like us PvPers asked for it either... We can't kill people out of certain supers now... So...
-
It did not impact the spindle.
-
We are in a lame duck period of content. The weapons patch might take in to consideration that 37-impact legendary sniper rifles may be making an appearance in Destiny during Rise of Iron. That is my hope, at any rate. If they do, then the damage nerf is irrelevant. Not only that, but the increased light level would mitigate the damage reduction for activities like King's Fall. When we are at 400 light, 1k stare should one shot Knights. That they took that away two weeks prior to Rise of Iron is very questionable and makes the raid more tedious than it already was. I mean, we already dealt with having to double tap knights at Oryx as 320 light level guardians, why do it at 335? It's frustrating.
