SGA: Secret Round Perk changed Behaviour

Super good advice Pulse Rifle perk, Secret Round Has been patched and works Differently Now OldRound: had the behaviour burst always fires 3 shots, if all 3 hit target, only 2 removed from magazine (note, this is contrary to the perk description), but is Useful for ammo savings, it rewards accuracy NewRound: new behaviour if any shot in burst misses, an additional shot is fired for a 4 round burst (this behaviour matches the description) however, this new behaviour is actually a liability if you miss a shot, the bonus shot will Always also miss, it is useless this also reduces your fire rate, since the extra shot wastes time also adds additional recoil, meaning overall accuracy goes down Essentially, the perk has changed to Punish you for missing shots while previously it Rewarded you for landing shots A perk that only has downsides That's not a Perk, its a Liability Punish vs Reward Might want to rework that one, Bungie

    I am not 100% sure I agree with you on how bad the "secret round" perk is. I have used it and yes, if you miss one round or more in a burst of 3 it will fire a 4th round. But, I can say for sure that there have been times where, for whatever reason, one round from the burst was off and missed and that secret/4th round hit. The idea that if you missed one or more shots from you burst that you are automatically going to also miss the secret round is just not accurate... Something along these lines is happening with the Apple of Discord (AoD) Hakke Pulse Rifle. It automatically fires a 4 round burst instead of a 3 round normal pulse rifle burst. When I use it, sometimes my first round in the burst might be off but I correct my aim and connect with the next 2 or 3 rounds in the burst - strafing tends to do this. This is particularly noticeable when trying to get headshots - a smaller target than the body. So the AoD is like having a "secret round" all the time. It takes some getting used to but once you get used to the 4 round burst, you can use it to your advantage... :) Having said all of that, secret round is not a perk I'd choose if I had a choice - I'd much rather prefer 3rd eye or headseeker or glass half full or counter balance. But if you have this perk on a weapon another one or two good perks, the weapon might not be quite that bad... {shrug}
