The Last City is NOT In Old Russia
*A Wild Gringo has appeared*
So I thought that the Last City's placement was common knowledge at this point, but I guess not. So let me clarify for those of you confused. Firstly let me tell you the name of this thread is somewhat misleading. While the position of the Last City has been seemingly narrowed down through evidence, nobody is certain. That being said, what I truly mean by the name is simply that the Last City isn't next to the Cosmodrome. It may very well be in Old Russia, it just isn't next to the Cosmodrome where many believe it to be. This belief is based on the simple (wrong) assumption that the same wall that surrounds the Cosmodrome is in fact the wall that surrounds the City. Why it isn't next to The Cosmodrome Now let me point out a few flaws in that assumption: 1. You say the Cosmodrome is on the inside of the wall, but you were resurrected outside the Wall. You go there in a mission for HoW. Neither time do you see the City. If you say the Cosmodrome is outside the wall, when you cross over to the inside, should you not be inside the City? 2. In the mission, Cayde's Stash, you go on one of the colony ships. This is very high up, and you can the the entire Cosmodrome and beyond. From this view, you can see no large city in the distance, let alone a huge white ball the size of a small moon. 3. The Cosmodrome wall was build long before the Collapse. There is plenty of evidence of this, most notably the large POGA signs plastered around. Wouldn't it be strange for the Titans who build the wall (years after the Collapse) to plaster signs of pre collapse organizations. It also is blatantly stated that the wall was build around the Cosmodrome to protect the colony ships during the collapse. 4. The last and most simple point is: there can be more than one wall existing at a time. Just because we see a wall in Old Russia doesn't mean it is the same one we see surrounding the City. Where the Last City may be
This is pure speculation. Past this point nothing is certain
Now Bungie has never come out and said where the Last City is. Every time you go to a place in or around the City, it just says the location is "The Last City" or "City Perimeter". This hasn't kept the community from speculating. Based on evidence, we have pinpointed where the Last City may be. Here's the evidence: 1. Guardians have tracked the sun over the Tower and come to realize that the City is somewhere 28.3' North. 2. So at this point we have it narrowed down to a country at 28.3' N. The final nail in the coffin is the Last City's topography and climate. It appears that the City is in a cold, temperate area, shown by the often snow. It is also in a very mountainous region. The best place that fits this description is... Pokhara, Nepal So there you go, the City is most likely in Nepal. This would also add some irony to Bungie's involvement in the recent Nepal earthquake. Tl;Dr?
While the Last City's location is still unconfirmed, the most likely spot of it is in Nepal. That being said we know for sure the Last City isn't next to the Cosmodrome. Some other options are Nepal and some other part of Russia
