How to Farm for Imago Loop for this Nightfall
Friend of mine jumped in the party yesterday and asked what we were doing and I told him we were farming for Imago Loops. His reply, "why?" Imago Loop has the potential to be one of the best pvp handcannons given its default range stat. If your like me and love the fatebringer you'll feel right at home.
So lets talk strat.
(A) Things you'll need for this to be most effective
1.) 2 Titans(rocking wol with illuminated)
2.) 1 Hunter(rocking nightstalker with vanishing smoke)
3.) Three Snipers within the same Archetype as Thousand Yard Star, Longbow, Stillpiercer, etc.
4.) 1 Dragon's Breath
(B) Taking down the boss
1.) Pop bubble in back on Ledge(you can pop on ground we just found it easier to strafe side to side in and out of bubble to get wol effect.)
2.) Pump a cumulative of 16 precision shots into the Undying Mind (we found 5-5-6 split amongst us to be the best)
3.) 2 people preferably the titans go kill themseleves, the last guy should be the hunter, use vanishing smoke and exploding himself with Dragon's Breath at the feet of the Undying Mind.
Results
You kill the Undying mind with Dragon's Breath with 2-1 seconds left on the counter or even after. Loot drops, but you spawn up as if you failed the boss. Rinse and repeat.

*checked in on Legend, they tend to hit 15 head shots, 2 body shots. Check it out and see what works for you but like I said, 16 precision shots worked for us.

Confirmed that three 335 can still pump 16 precision shots and not kill the Undying Mind. The damage differences between the 334 to 335 is negligible.

If you are using stillpiercer make sure to use only smooth ballistics as to not accidentally increase impact.

Point out in all videos weapons of light seems to be active when going in for the Dragon's Breath Kill. Will make a difference in receiving the kill. Again, make sure to shoot the ground and not him.

I did it yesterday, My first nightfall EVER, I was a 324 warlock with a 310 hunter and a 320 warlock..we all used void snipers on the mind and was able to take it down in no time and got my first 328 Imago loop. [spoiler]got no exotics[/spoiler]

4 RepliesI can confirm this strat works. Once you get it down you can repeat over and over. The dragons breath is the best tool for DOT. I ended getting about 20-25 in total last time. BTW, At the beginning of the strike you can run to the far wall and jump on the ledge wth the vines on it. This is a protected spot but you can still shoot. Don't use grenades or rockets though, you'll blow yourself up. Also, When you climb the stairs, only one person has to make it to the top. Once there everyone can wipe and it'll respawn everyone at the top. The next interior section of stairs is easy with the tether. Tether the wizard and take out with a raze lighter and all of the enemies will despawn. You have to do it fast. The whole strike can be run in about 7-8min if I'm remembering correctly.

Alternative method for people who don't have illuminated on defender unlocked: Use weapons of light and place bubble in same place. However, with illuminated you do 58000 per sniper crit. Without you do 54000 per crit, and 21000 (slightly more but less than 22000) per body shot. As a result, the missing 64000 damage from 16 sniper crits is negated. As a result, you can have the 6-5-5 format for crit shots then each do one body shot. This worked consistently for me, provided I wasn't terrible.

If people can't hit a Omnigul with a Celestial Nighthawk Golden Gun shot how do you expect them to hit TUM with 5-6 crits using a sniper? The strategy is so dependent on perfection, that wasted rounds are highly likely. At least with Omnigul all three should have had Raze Lighter and Solar Snipers/Shotguns to finish her off should a Golden Gun shot miss. You also don't pump out enough orbs to make every round "THE" round, so you will have to have a few wipe rounds before your ready. It would be as quick to constantly replay the strike blasting through all of the enemies with Telesto until the final boss. Best way to farm for Fatebringer 2.0 - Wait until Rise of Iron releases - Hoard [u]all[/u] of your Skeleton Keys for Imago Loop specifically - Load up low level version of [b]The Undying Mind[/b] or [b]Echo Chamber[/b], the latter preferably as you can litterally run all the way to the boss room and cheese the Restorative Mind and kill him in seconds. Reason being, most of the Strike rewards in the game are only wanted for collection purposes rather than utility, so its only a matter of when a certain Strike is a Nightfall for a given week to have the highest chance of getting something for the sake of having it. Imago Loop is way too specific... Its Outlaw+Firefly or bust. Yes you can get other great Handcannon rolls for Imago Loop but they are the same perks other Handcannons can get. Grasp of Malok had the benefit of not being bound by two specific perks, leaving room for surprising combinations and the fact that Omnigul is too exploitable. You would be somewhat foolish to use Skeleton Keys for other Strike rewards. Just wait until the new/revamped Strikes are Nightfalls and keep your Skeleton Keys for The Undying Mind/Echo Chamber. 11 RepliesLast time it was solar burn did this method and ended up with one with firefly, rifled barrel and range finder. If using gunslinger the slower reload isn't a thing, I love it. Worth during the farm if you like HCs in pve

14 RepliesI just want to point out that threads like this make me sick to my stomach that reforging got removed. I have absolutely no interest in playing the same strike 100 times for a viable PvP drop and Bungie should recognize that pushing players to find the most efficient way to break their game to get the drops is -blam!-ing stupid.
