If a player has been reported for inactivity he or she should be removed if game detects he is inactive ... No motion for 3 minutes ....
Too often I find some players let others do the hard work and take the loot at the end.
If simply afk ...then auto remove if not in motion for 3 min
-
Seriously, what's the point of reporting for this if nothing is done at that time.
-
If you are too busy to play the game, then DON'T PLAY THE GAME, see simple fix. If you are not moving or just sitting in one spot you should be reported and kicked, who cares what the reason is, your ruining the game for other people
-
Just want to point out that AFKers in strike playlists weren't as bad as they have been since this strike combo thing started. Now people just go AFK to take a slash whereas before, they had no problem leaving. Now, they don't want to lose the combo.
-
3 mins is too long. Make it like 1 min. If you are too busy to play the first.min of a game you should just wait to enter matchmaking until you are no longer to busy.
-
So basically you are going to control how I play the game now? Buddy I -blam!-ing paid 120$ I'll do anything I want to do
-
I think you should be able to send an "are you there message" to inactive players that doesn't disrupt game play or anything so spamming active players dont get affected but if they don't use the controller in like 30 seconds after you get the message you get booted.

Edited by Inb4ban: 7/29/2016 8:41:06 PMLots of people have busy lives. Just because someone goes afk for a few minutes does not mean they are squatting Edit: no hate plz I is fragile
-
Bump but make that 2 mins instead and a 1 minute timer if reported and sensed as inactive.
-
I don't need a 3rd player on strikes but the fact a person goes AFK for the match, or stays in a patrol area while I kill a boss annoys the hell outta me. If someone gets reported for inactivity and stays in a neutral area of the map for 3 mins, they should be kicked and replaced. I report those who are AFK more than 2-3 mins and everyone should too. If there are too many reports in a short timeframe then the player should be suspended from strikes for a day or two. If you can't commit to the strike activity, leave.
-
There should be a system in place that if a player didn't put any damage on the boss, that player does not receive credit or rewards from doing the strike. That way the people who rubber band their controllers are literally just wasting time and won't get shit for doing nothing. Just an idea. Add to it if you think of something better or something that would make more sense.

Edited by More Cowbell: 7/28/2016 7:22:17 PMAfk players should be banned for cheating. If you disagree, I will happily debate.
-
There's sometimes when I need to go afk. Long story short: my family comes first. So walking away from the game is necessary from time to time. And I agree. The kick from game time should be shortened. I hate not being a contributing factor in a game. It's also annoying getting hate mail because the other players don't know the situation.
-
Too generous. Boot if no activity for ONE minute. I hate inactive players. It's disrespectful as hell and they shouldn't be allowed to play.
-
Edited by optismo: 7/29/2016 9:57:26 AMYes, maybe if 2 out of 3 players vote them inactive and they have been inactive 3 minutes they get booted.
-
Problem is these squatters have set their controllers so it moves just enough so they do not get kicked does piss me off as well even more when I get them in pvp.
-
*Takes a nice comfy seat on a rock.* AFK!
-
disagree...stuff happens...I had a bumblebee fly thru my window once...that was at least 3 minutes of inactivity...lol
-
Agree! Send them back from where they come from!
-
It's lame when this happens, but the amount of times this occurs is often blown out of proportion. It may feel like it occurs often because of how frustrating it is, but if there was any empirical data (not anecdotal) we would all realize this isn't that big of a problem. Then again, what the hell do I know. Just my opinion based on personal experience (totally anecdotal).

I agree, and disagree at the same time. Inactive mofos are the same as dorks that shoot the mines to dismantle 'em. Lord knows I'm like Atlas walking through strike after strike carrying these inept mofos. Can we boot those yokels too? At the same time tho, I disagree with the 3 minutes. Sometimes life happens. Maybe he's afk because he had to take a dump and didn't want to lose the strike bonus. Maybe she's got a grown man at home that can't change a diaper. In which case I totally understand. I don't understand tho, how after all this time these twits dunno how to handle the dang mines. And Varicks agrees with me.
-
It's too easy to set your controller so you move enough to remain "active"...they need to make it so if you don't shoot anything(not cause DoT off any kind) you get the boot.
-
You get no loot if you don't put enough/any damage on the boss. There's your crybaby justice.
-
This is mainly the reason why I farm strikes in a Fireteam of my friends nowadays
-
Sorry, but I like to casually play a strike while talking to my girlfriend. If bungie let me solo que into strikes then that's what I would do.
-
I send them a message to play or leave. If they don't, then I leave. Unfortunately that is about all one can do.
-
I just had a match on shores of time where someone on my team purposely sat on control point A the whole time.
