For me personally, I would say to a certain extent. They definetly need to make exotics harder to get though, they no longer feel special.
Thanks for leaving an answer, feel free to discuss in the comment section I will try to reply to the best of my ability.
See you starside Guardians...
Edit: after reading some replies, maybe removing RnG isn't the best idea, maybe they should even make it more plentiful. I realize the game practically relies on RnG to keep players playing. And look at Destinys current state, they removed some RnG aspects with TTK and AU and the game has hit a stale state. I'm not sure what they should do. What are your opinions on this? comment down below to discuss.

This game has too much rng as it is so there's no need to add more of it.
-
From Bungie's view, they got many people to grind literal days for a weapon or armor piece. That's obviously a success, they got people addicted to their game. Changing RNG means people will be rewarded way more often, thus leading to them leaving. For some people, it's about the chase, not the reward.
-
What they should do is structure destiny like an MMORPG and randomize weapon and armor stats.
-
Take out three of coins, implement a system where the more strikes or crucible games you finish in a row (similar to vanguard streaks) the more likely it is an exotic will drop, NOT AN EXOTIC ENGRAM an actually exotic, because you are more likely to remember, hey I got so and so exotic from so and so instead of just deciding an ENGRAM in front of the cryptarch. Rng quests would be good, similar to the exotic bounties
-
Its not that the exotics are easy to get that makes them terrible, they just are all weak and useless to begin with.
-
Noooo dont remove me!!

Rewards from PvP and PvE activities should be full RNG. But I believe Exotics should all have questlines to create that "I can't believe what they went through for that" moment.
-
I voted to an extent. Then again, if you were in charge of that at bungie, would you change it? No. It's why this game is more, far more, addictive than fun. Keeps people logged on, keeps us on here posting shit. I just would like to see new leadership in the sandbox team for d2. Pve wouldn't be wrecked by pvp adjustments and we'd have a better experience in both. In my opinion.

Is the patch live over

They should keep rng for a lot of it. But add more things like black spindle quest. You do a certain quest and you're guaranteed the item you're trying for. Not just exotics.
-
I like the idea of certain things being deterministic. Guns and armor needed for a certain purpose and such. Though I'd like to see an RNG with a more balanced approach to actually handing out rewards based on in game performance and feats within an instance rather than k/d or overall DPS. If treated like medals in crucible then I believe the goal would be to complete instances in new and inventive ways over just trying to rush and kill everything. It would be hard but it would reward more inventive gameplay over meta players, and provide a more friendly competitive atmosphere because there is no reason to be angry just because someone else managed a better feat or medal that time when more than likely you'll try and do it yourself next match.

RNG for everything, even all quest items. And require you to build those items with harvested materials before you can use it. Push the grind to the limits.
-
Mostly. They Need A System Like Warframe. Very rewarding
-
They removed RNG?? Exotic armor is now more RNG, exotic gun levels are RNG, special legendaries are heavily RNG, they added way more trash perks to pollute the loot pool even further and further increase the grind to get anything decent.
-
RNG is the reason I'm not putting a penny into Destiny 2
-
Like it or not, RNG keeps us playing the game.
-
If they do that then locking some items from your loot table will be impossible!
-
What's an RPG without RNG? (Destiny isn't a true RPG, but shares some of the aspects of one.)
-
rng is what makes this game what it is, you take that out and you will have another linear story game where as soon as you're done with campaign and the raid theres nothing left to play for.
-
Remember that RNG is just Random Number Generator. People will get confused. Whether you get a boot engram or a chest engram, or even getting an engram at all is RNG. RNG ties into many parts of the game.
-
Have an rng set of weapons from engrams/nightfall drops, keep faction gear exclusive to Factions, and have quests give story based armor and weapons. Problem solved.
-
Yes. Especially in handcannon bullets
-
Noone should afk a strike and get a legendary.
-
They need a "fake" rng system like wow
