Seriously, who at Bungie thought that putting defense on class items was a good idea?
I want to be able to wear any class item that I choose. The ghost angel cloak, shattered vault cloak, and kellhunter's hood all are amazing cloaks. They were perfectly fine without defense, Stat boosts, or anything like that.
Same goes for any y1 content. Why would you make y1 content irrelevant when your game is desperately needing more content.
Edit: Let's get this trending so that hopefully someone at Bungie will see this.
Edit: Woke up to over 200 notifications! Outstanding to see how many people feel the same way. And we're trending! To quote someone we all know and love "This is amazing!"

THIS BRING BACK Y1 WITH INFUSION BUNGIE!!!! STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR LEAVING IT BEHIND AND LET US MAKE OUR GUARDIANS THE WAY WE WANT INSTEAD OF THE WAY YOU SAY WE CAN!!! I left a lot of favorites to rot in my vault that need to be made Infusible to current power levels!!!

I remembered the day when we moaned and bitched to death when class items never had any defense and were deemed 'useless'
-
And all of us suddenly forgot that we complained a year ago how class items were so useless because the didn't have any value in them other than they were badass looking (Hey Fragment of the Prime)
-
Bungie probably did this to make it harder to reach max light.
-
Was expecting "Pepperidge Farm remembers" Left disappointed
-
I happen to remember back then everyone asking for class items to have stats
-
Imagine a 335 Khvostov 7G-02!
-
Agreed. Still have my y1 cloaks but can't use them
-
Yea they should let you infuse ANY item. If you like how it looks and its special abilities are of use to you, we should be allowed to continue to wear that item.
-
Cloak of Gheleon and Cloak of the Shadowsmiths. Luckily light level doesn't matter in PvP/Patrol/Lower strikes.
-
I wish they'd let you infuse any class item (even from Y1).
-
Yep! Man... It's a class item! You wear it as a butt cape, arm band or a hood not armor! Take away defense on them
-
People really care about what cloak they're wearing that much?
-
I remember when they didn't have defense. Still, I don't miss class items without defense. Back then, it felt like they had no purpose at all. But now they do, and I love it. You can say what you want. But I, personally, want my class items to have some usefulness, and not be there just for show. Then again, I main a warlock (mostly), so my bonds doesn't really stand out too much, lol.
-
Yess! I miss that soo much like hunters used to have variety like vog and crota cloaks Now hunters all they wear are just the same 5 cloaks
-
All they need to do is put in transmog
-
Yeah I still remembered that along with my fave Ghost Angel cloak. XD
-
I miss wearing the year 1 iron banner warlock bond, the glowing green vines and the flames :(
-
I like that they have perks but I don't think they should have defense.
-
I was so bummed when I found out that my favorite warlock band was was useless now, so sad, but I'll probably wear it anyway
-
It was a bad day indeed I miss my favorite Hunter cloak I had to dismantle it because it was trash and I still regret that action I made

For my Warlock, and even my Titan, class items were never much of a big deal. As long as my Warlock had something that wasn't too stupid-looking (like basically everything the Speaker has ever offered) and my Titan had a belt knife (a need which is thankfully filled by Variks' Titan Marks) I'm fine. But my Hunter on the other hand.... Most of the cloaks I liked were "low level" and thus by Year 2 Standards absolutely worthless, even detrimental to wear. Hunters are scouts, rangers, wilderness wanderers. A giant, flowing cape is by and large the most impractical choice someone in that position could possibly wear. You'd get caught, snagged, and hung up on absolutely everything. So far the SRL "cloak" and maybe 1 or 2 others are the only infuseable cloaks that don't look like they'd trip you up if you actually attempted half of what you do in the game while wearing them. For the longest time in Year 1 I was wearing the starter scarf (can't even call it a "cloak" really). And I completely agree. All in all Destiny NEEDS the Year 1 gear to be relevant again, for a number of reasons. For one, there are all the unique perks, especially with the Raid gear. Two, elemental primaries need to be a thing again. I am so, so, SO freaking sick of the Zhalo being the only option. The fact that the one and ONLY elemental primary in Year 2 is both an exotic AND a damn auto rifle (hate those things with a passion) burns me up beyond words. I want my Vision of Confluence. I want my Fang of Ir Yut. I want to wear my Year 1 Iron Regalia Vestments and Cowl of the Hezen Lords without losing 30+ light. If Bungie had provided similarly styled replacement options for Year 2, I'm sure we could work with that. Would suck to lose the Year 1 perk selections that made it possible to boost reserve ammo on EVERY weapon you carried, but at least we'd have the style we wanted. For all the BS and hype Bungie fed us about crafting, shaping, and customizing our Guardians, they've been doing a wonderful job of LIMITING our options at every turn.
-
We ised to have a clan uniform of sorts where all Titans would only wear the starter belt as their class item.
-
Make all class items, common through exotic, infusable.
-
What?!?! Class items didn't have light levels. That's crazy.
-
What they could do is make year 1 raids relevant again 4 months after the rise of iron raid has released
