Titan Story Chp 27 (Collaboration Chapter!): Court is Now in Session
All characters that are not mine pertain to Paradox1055's storyline just so ya know.
Alan looked over at Laurentine. "Oh! Thanks! I was afraid I was going to have all the fun." He gave a small laugh and twirled one of his throwing knives between his fingers. Laurentine gave a nod in his direction. "Looked like you could use an extra knife." He drew his knife and looked at the Knight charging for them. It roared in anger as it barreled down the steps. "Someone just said YOU need an extra knife? Ironic..." Colt spun his shell with emphasis. "Not helping...." Alan readied his stance. Kate jumped up and down as everyone gathered around the shield to watch the fight progress. "Yay!! A fight! Go get em guys!!" She looked up at Rex and gave a death glance at Natasha who was getting closer to him. Blake nudged James slightly in the side and whispered. "10 Glimmer says Alan dies first." "Blake, I hope you know we are on a team channel..." Alan turned slightly to look back at him briefly. "I heard that..." Blake tapped his helmet. His comm link shut off and only those around him could hear. "10 Glimmer says Alan dies first." He held his hand out slightly. James simply shook his hand and watched silently. Alan made a snark remark as he jumped to the left while Laurentine quickly moved right to avoid the swift crushing blow of the Knight's first attack. As they avoided blows, a sickly green portal opened up, allowing a large Hive tombship to spawn over the battle. It's underbelly glowed green as packs of Thralls and Acolytes flooded forth. "Laurentine! Arc shields! Do what you can, I'll cover us!" Alan yelled as he tossed several knives into the screaming Thrall. "Alright!" Laurentine crouched and stayed still for several seconds. The Knight roared angrily and swung at the crouched Hunter. Before the blade connected, Laurentine vanished from sight and the blade crashed into empty ground. The Knight paused and looked around in slight confusion while Laurentine appeared on top of the rock above with a sniper rifle. He pulled off four shots and brought down the Knight's shields before dissapearing. The Knight grunted in pain and looked upward to find him. Laurentine reappeared again on the stage and put four more shots into the Knights hide before vanishing. Alan paused and mumbled as he looked at his knives again. He shrugged and stabbed an Acoltye in the chest. "Gunslingers for the win!" The Knight growled in frustration at not finding Laurentine and charged for Alan instead. As the Hunter pulled his knife free, he turned and looked as the Knight swung. "S***!" Alan divebombed to the ground to avoid the decapitating blow. The Knight roared in frustration as its body glowed a fiery red briefly. Laurentine appeared across the arena and launched another volley of shots at the Knight, but it's shields pulsed red and absorbed the bullets. The Knight shrugged the damage off and looked at Alan angrily. "Alan it's shield type changed! I don't have a solar sniper on me." Laurentine said as he chucked a grenade at some Thrall before vanishing. "Uh... Huh..?" Alan paused and looked up as the Knight brought it's sword up to swing downward. He yelped and widened his legs to avoid the blow. Blake and James made a groan-like noise and shifted slightly in their places out of discomfort. "That was a cheap shot..." mumbled James. Alan paused briefly before hopping up. "Too close buddy!" His body cascaded in fire as he summoned a Golden Gun. The first bullet tore through it's shields and the other two damaged the Knight directly. It roared in pain and stumbled back slightly. The Hive ship pulsed green again and began to drop more Thralls and Acolytes. The sheer amount of them began to crowd the arena around the two Hunters. Everyone waited quietly to see what would happen. Alan pulled out his hand cannon and jumped slightly as Laurentine appeared beside of him. He clasped Alan's shoulder. "Take care of the Knight." He held his knife in his hand and summoned his Arc Blade. He spun on his foot and vanished, only to appear near enemies and tear them apart before spinning to vanish yet again. He began to thin out the crowd in a stunning dance of arc energy, dropping orbs as he went along. "Thanks, bud!" Alan yelled as he quickly gathered up the orbs of light. The Knight pulsed a light blue and roared charging at Alan. Before he could get near, Laurentine spun into existence and used his last bit of energy to bring the Knights shield down and vanish out of the way. The Knight stumbled slightly as Alan's body burned once more before finishing off the Knight. It exploded into ash as the other enemies crumbled to nothingness. The tombship silently faded back to the Ascendent realm and the portal faded to a close. Laurentine appeared by Alan and they turned towards each other. "Well, that was fun. Nice work Laurentine." Alan said as he held his hand up for a high five. Laurentine happily high five him back. "You did very well yourself." The two laughed together. Dakota took a deep breath and let out a simple sigh. "Hmm, Hunters work well together... Almost instinctively." He crossed his arms and watched as the two gathered up the loot and headed back to meet the others. "I could have told you that." I said with a smile. "Hunters are a valuable asset to a team, regardless of who they are." Blake motioned at me and quickly shook his hand along his neck, signifying me to shut up. James socked him gently in the arm. "What?..." James held out his hand. Blake grumbled and handed over 10 Glimmer. "This is why I don't bet..." Dakota gave a simple grunt and walked away, back to the last statue in the hallway. "Just for a heads up, Dakota was a member of The Scholars, if that rings a bell. He's still getting used to Hunters." said James as he pocketed his rewards. "The Scholars?..." I cocked my head slightly. "I don't think he was alive, much less had the Light for that story to be relevant to him." Blake sighed. "Either way, he doesn't like Hunters." "What's wrong with Hunters?" Kate asked, looking back at Dakota. "I don't know. He doesn't talk about it, but I bet it is in Warlock archives." Alan hopped back up to the group as he spoke, making sure Dakota didn't notice. "Dakota's team was wiped out in the Vault. The Hunter was the cause... that's all we know." James turned his attention to Kate. Angelica flinched slightly and looked at Dakota. "That's horrible..." "Goes to show what a poor team member or Ghost can do in a big fight." Natasha said as she leaned against a wall. "Ghost?" I asked puzzled. "Hey, uh, Josiah? Where is your ghost? More importantly, WHERE IS MY GHOST?!" Alan asked, looking around in panic. I paled and looked around. "Charles?" "You sure this will work?" Me and Alan turned to see Doc, Charles and Colt hovering by the second statue. Doc was holding a strange coin shaped object and handing it to Charles. "This is elementary, my dear Watson. You stick the thing in the thing and it should work." Charles took it and turned to study the statue. "I'll remember that line when I do my next experiment." Doc said with a rather bleak sinister tone. "Doc what are you doing?!" Blake barked as he stepped forward. "Funding research projects." Doc spun around and looked at him. "Out of my pocket?!" "Of course, these two didn't have it." "Charles don't!" I said. "Relax! It's fine." Charles dropped the relic and it hissed from existence. The statue glowed green and made a very strange hiss noise. "Approach the portal, Charles." "Say what?" Alan asked as he looked at the glowing statue. The three Ghosts looked at each other. "What did y'all say?" Colt looked between them in confusion. The loud crash brought our attention to the portal reopening. "Uh..." Charles floated still, dumbfounded. "Oh no... I swear Charles... I am not going in there!" I said, pointing at the arena. "I don't see why.. NOT!!" Charles screamed a little as both Charles and I were dragged into the arena and the shield went up, blocking our path. "What?! This is ridiculous!!" Charles floated back up to the shield and rammed it. "I want no part of this!! Let the Guardians get killed, I'm too funny to die!!" "I hate you so much..." I slowly sat up to look at the portal. Alan looked to James. "Okay, one of them helped me. We need to help him..." James stood quietly for a moment, then grabbed Blake's arm and dragged him through the membrane, while he was arguing with Doc. "What did i tell you about experimenting! I specif... Hey where are we going?..." Blake squirmed a bit. "Oh no... No D***it!... He has a team for a reason!" James pushed him to the ground and pulled out his rocket launcher, obviously unhappy. Blake stood up and dusted his armor off. "Ah whatever... This should be fun. Just like the Gap all over again..." "Hey, Blake! Piece of cake, right?" Alan said, waving. Blake shut off his team link. "Josiah, Remind me to... heal Alan and his Ghost when we get out of this..." "Sure..." I said as I pulled out my scout rifle, waiting for the battle to begin. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/185150918/0/0 link to chapter 26.9 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/187018837/0/0 link to chapter 27.4
