Does anyone else agree that the reward system in Destiny needs fixing? (PLEASE READ FIRST)
Alright, since some of you aren't getting it, I'll edit this so it's just the basics, since so many of you are complaining about length.
So I played a round of Iron Banner, happy to see that it came back. I played, got to the top of the game, and stayed there to the end. I was sort of proud of how well I did. So I go to the rewards screen, and I get nothing. Two guys that did an alright job got really powerful gear, and some extras. Aside from the rewards guaranteed to the winners (Marks and Sterling Treasure), I got nothing at all.
Now, I know a lot of people don't get it. "What, were you expecting all the rewards? My god, quit whining, you self-absorbed wanker." No, I never said that, I don't know where you're getting that conclusion from.
My problem was that I got literally nothing. I'd have been happy with even a single Strange Coin or a single Mote of Light, or even an Armor Shader that I'd most likely discard. Believe it or not, I'm actually completely content with getting what most would consider crap. My problem is the fact that I got nothing, that the RNG allows such a thing to be a possibility for any unfortunate soul who plays his best and expects maybe a humble reward.
You see, when I go into a game, I expect to have fun and come back with something that doesn't make it feel like a complete waste of time. It wasn't too much fun, and despite the guaranteed rewards, I came back with nothing.
So many of you don't understand that, and I still don't know why. Instead, I get a few mature comments from a few mature people, but then I get the entire Morton Salt Factory dumped on my thread by some of the most toxic people that have ever existed on a single video game.

Among all these replies, I get the following: - People understanding my point, and humbly agreeing [sort of a minority] - People understanding my point, and humbly disagreeing [sort of a minority] - People understanding my point, and agreeing to the point of being a prick to those of a dissenting opinion [definite minority; thankfully, it was just one guy] - People understanding my point, and disagreeing to the point of being a prick to those of a dissenting opinion [pretty close to being the majority] - People not understanding my point, but not only disagreeing, but being actually quite cringe-worthy [ [b]sweet mother of Christ, this is the majority alright[/b] ] I feel no need to restate my point. At this point, if you can't understand what I have quite clearly stated multiple times now, then your opinion is invalid to me. If you DO understand, then whether you agree or disagree, I find your opinion valid. There are a few people here who agreed and weren't acting like putrid a-holes to everyone, and another few who disagreed and were actually still nice about it (or at the very least, not entirely rude). Those of you that fall under this category, being the vast minority here, I thank you dearly for showing the heathens that compose the majority how a mature discussion works. You people know who you are. Despite this, there are a lot of people who disagreed and were dicks to multiple people for literally no reason (you know, aside from me criticizing one part of their precious little game), and there was one guy who agreed with me and was still a dick to others anyways. Quite cancerous indeed. I thought we were better than this. This is CoD-fan mentality. Anyhow, I'm done here with this thread. It's served its purpose, and judging by the results, an overwhelming amount of people voted in favor of the RNG being fixed. As for the comments, well, I already covered that. Those of you that behaved like adults, good on you. Those of you that behaved like children, grow up.

Update... I just got my boots back (ib ones which didnt credit to me after a big lag crash thing) after 2 hours of play this morning! And i even got multiple (for me, thats more than 2) kills. I got 8 kills in one match!!!! A personal best and NOTHING... Then, i was on a team where we were WAY outclassed... Died alot in ever more spectacular ways and... My boots showed! It may or may not be broken but it IS drunk! Hilarious! Now, sniper rifle hunting... Granted, good point made yesterday suggests that we who complain are disappointed by what we WANT n dont get rather than excited for what our teammates, and sometimes ourselves, DO get... Its a thought...

1 ReplyIt's sad to see all these people with soccer mom mentalities on this forum. I bet some of you think every kids deserves a trophy when Tee ball ends don't you. You play crucible to win, but not every body's a winner. If you come in first on your team you deserve a decent reward. If you come in last you deserve nothing at all, even if your team destroy the other team, you were the worst on your team. If you're somewhere in the middle, then RNG can figure that out.

I think it should be based on your kd in pve and Kd and how many points you earned in crucible

Dude I completely agree..I was at the top spot with 19-25 kills and over 4900 points yet I get nothing and the guy who killed 1 guardian got a legendary pulse rifle and a shader, I want everyone who tries to get something but when you get shafted it sucks

1 ReplyLol...tons of games with PvP don't give guaranteed rewards. Many give points or currency that you spend on gear. This currency is pretty similar to crucible rep, faction rep, and motes of light from xp... Raiding in many games gives nothing to the top players... Hell, you can do dungeons in some games and ALL the loot goes to one person... Life doesn't hand out too many participant ribbons....those are so overly sensitive children don't cry on the way home and mom and dad don't have to teach them the hard truths....sometimes you do the best you ever have and still lose or get nothing for it. Sometimes you do the best you ever have and someone else gets a bigger reward. Life isn't always fair kid....

3 Repliesthink of pvp rewards the same as the nfl draft: the worst teams from the previous season gets the first picks to help elevate them on the next season so they can be better. if the super bowl champs got the first picks, they would always be on top. so the rewards in pvp can be viewed the same way: reward the top player for doing great? or.... give the bottom players better drops to bring them up? but sadly the only thing bungie will do about it is nerf the fusion rifles 😭

2 RepliesPeople need to read before posting. TC is saying that there shouldn't be a "No Reward" reward at the end screen. Everyone should get an item, but that item is random. Hes not saying to change the damn RNG, hes saying that you should get something for your time even if its a green or blue that ends up as weapon parts. How is that even a problem with any of you? You play and get a random item! That's all hes saying! Cheese and crackers people.

I understand the tier rewards POV, but then what incentive would below average players have to play crucible? I can abide by raising the percentage on drop rates for better players though, but some players need a bone thrown at them.

I would agree with you if lag didn't exist and if matchmaking made it a fair match. Who would want to get stomped because of these things knowing they would get nothing.

I am probably one of the unluckiest Destiny players ever, started the game the same time as a few of my friends and they have already got quite a few good exotics and light levels hovering around 320. Me on the other hand, I have only got 3 Exotics and they are all from Xûr and my light level is 307. Even when I play Crucible and get to the top of the leaderboard I get nothing! #FixTheRnG

Rank 5 package is a joke considering how long it takes to get there. I can beat challenge Oryx in 10 minutes or less and get lootpalosion of rewards. Iron Banner, I usually get a useless ghost and item I don't need or want.

It definitely needs fixing, I got first by a Longshot in mayhem rumble and didn't get anything while everyone else got legendaries

Right now there is the live drops you get in the world, then the ones at the end of the activity that is random. Add onto that two more, one that rewards the entire team and one for the individual. Rewarding based on performance, and of course the team one being more rewarding. Still don't agree with bungie's stance on rewarding players. Which I'm only drawing a conclusion from how little rewards we get in the game and how it's barely changed.

If you were truly that humble you'd also note you improved your grimoire score , for any respective gear etc. You also gained xp for any gear you used. Plus crucible rep, IB rep and faction rep. So not a complete waist of time. Or you could also be an ahole be all about your kd. Oh and you can use three of coins to farm.

Random - proceeding, made or occurring without definite aim, reason or pattern. If only the top players got gear, then the better players would be op with gear, while weak players would be further disadvantaged with little or no good gear. It's a balanced, but not results based award system, its random. Also while you don't have your profile linked I managed to find your stats on destiny tracker, i would imagine the vast majority of your rewards from crucible happen when you are not the top player. [/spoiler] in most rpgs loot isnt guaranteed for anything. most FPS dont even have a loot system;those that do are usually rng scams hidden behind crates and keys that drop every so often. destiny gives you the same RNG as everyone else. Rewarding the best players only makes the strong stronger, and the weak weaker. balance doesnt mean fair.

1 ReplyDoing well when compared to the rest of the team shouldn't be rewarded. If anything, everyone on the winning team should have a guarenteed reward even if it's a couple motes of light.
