Here's the thing, and I've looked into this topic a lot: How can you buff Red Death and not make it overwhelmingly OP? I agree, right now it sits with the other high impact pulses as generally outclassed and niche, owning to the 3-burst kills, but slower fire rate than the PDX-45 archetype. But if you make it 2-burst capable, it becomes the obvious go-to choice for every situation. Fastest pulse rifle TTK and a heal / reload / this fight never happened perk means it is the only real choice. So, what should be done? Increasing the base stability would be a nice touch, so landing all shots on the head would be more realistic. That makes the 3-burst kills a bit slower, but more realistic and consistent, and the perks make up for it. Maybe the Red Death perk could heal and increase the fire rate to that of a PDX-45 type until reload, and causes a Spray and Play or Outlaw speed reload on an empty mag. That put's it in the same category as TFC, which can be great fun in the right hands. other than options like that, I don't see how there is room on one side or another to affect it and not keep it as junk or make it extremely OP. Hawkmoon is fine and it's generally doing fine, except for one thing: the damage fall-off for hand cannons. Generally I feel like this kind of locked most of the exotic HCs out of being top tier, with Ace of Spades being the best choice, due to having a good range option (which pushes the damage fall-off back a bit). Remove or modify that factor, and the Hawk will fly high again. It doesn't need to be Y1 caliber to be great.

Hawkmoon can 2 shot a low armour guardian with luck in the chamber... Yeh let's make it one shot
-
Agree with red death. It was pretty hard to two shot even in the previous meta.
-
Red Death was awesome and rewarding last year. No reason it shouldn't go back to that
-
I think that they are both good at were they are. Balanced and special.

-
Fabian Strategy as well!!!!
Return these weapons to back to year 1 performance.
Ya, hawk moon does not need a buff, but Read Death "was" my favorite weapon. But now it is one of the worst weapons in the game.
-
They should switch Unflinching on Red Death with Head Seeker.
-
Red death was op in year one so I understand the nerf but hawkmoon needed skill it was a great weapon I used it most of the time. I haven't used a hand cannon other than eysluna in Pvp since the April update
-
Goddamn everything needs to be buffed back to year one.
-
Red death needs its high impact archetype back not the mid raise of fire
-
No. Red Death needs some love, but playing against it when it was a two-burst kill was annoying, and would be OP in the current meta. Loved HM, but any further buffs would make it OP as well.

Edited by Codair9634: 7/18/2016 4:51:33 PMBro the hawkmoon is still perfect I went into PVP matches yesterday using it you just have to know how to use just wait for the gun to go back down after you shoot it you know how hand-cannons buck up in the air when you fire it for the hawkmoon wait for it to go back down problem solved
-
Fix the lag first
-
What's wrong with Hawkmoon?
-
I agree that low ROF high impact PR like Red death should be able to two burst kill but all Pulse rifles need a buff ( except the High ROF PR like grasp of Malok ) and Noooo ! Hawkmoon only needs a stability buff and slight range increase but in year 1 it could 1 shot head kill lol
-
Hawkmoon is fine after the last patch, but Red Death definitely could use some love.
-
agreed
-
Agreed.
-
CBMM first.
-
Red death really needs some love!
-
i agree with reddeath needing some work but hawkmoon is broken as hell and does not need any buffs at all.. reddeath takes around 3 bursts to kill someone hawkmoon on average is a 2 shot kill...
-
Hawkmoon is still deadly... but Red Death, well its got foam bullets
