Whenever you are going to to get rewards: raids, CoE, turning in engrams, rank up packages, etc make sure you are the highest light level you can possibly be. Items will the drop up to 5 light levels higher than you are currently with the exception of legendary engrams that drop. If you have a lot of engrams open them slowly and equip or infuse any that are higher than what you have. Power rank factions with notes and such is also a decent way to get gear up to 330.
