Destiny goes through periods of high and low traffic, a lot of content and little content. It is currently going through the latter, as is expected for this time in the cycle.
To remedy this lull, Bungie could revamp the three remaining strikes from year one (Nexus, Summoning Pits, Devils' Lair), adding in the new Taken version and perhaps changing a few of the encounters during each strike (kind of like Winter's Run). Give the bosses some new mechanics and special loot rewards and release them during the summer (every 2-3 weeks).
I can't imagine it would take oodles and oodles of time to refine and update these strikes. It seems a rather simple task; however, I am no video game designer.
This definitely wouldn't be enough for the entire summer, but it would be nice to see some new stuff come our way. What do you think?

I don't mean to sound rude, but if we had everything relevant, all 3 raids, PoE; every strike, I'd think that would last a fairly long while. Not long enough for a year or anything that big, but it's sad to see that out of the 4 PVE endgame activities, only 2 are actually relevant. Assuming I counted right.
-
Agree there should be more ongoing things. Rotate SRL and bring us some new side missions every once in a while. Also maybe matchmake old raids so one can just go trough them. Tweak the mechanics to be a bit more forgiving....or just update old raids to drop new versions of the old arsenal.

Y3 should have all the original content and weapons. Would make it last much longer and leave destiny with a great feel for when destiny 2 comes out.
-
Maybe it'll happen in Y3 since they don't have to cater to scrubs using 10-year-old consoles. It would take too much time to do this on four systems right now.
-
A huge issue is that they simply can't make content fast enough, especially with people like Goth and ProBro who play 8 hours a day.
-
Uh no they are making people pay money for those strikes (again), you get 1 strike with RoI and that's not enough for me
-
Yeah that would be nice, but: -Legacy consoles could be holding that back -Bungie might be waiting until RoI to bring forward any strikes, as that would make sense in the story
-
I don't think it gets implemented just by clicking a button.... I'd rather they put more time into roi than spend time on old strikes. Cheers
-
Or they could make new content which is what they are trying to do and then later in activities
-
Needs more than that...I'm sure in the expansion they will have some of them strikes updated plus the new one. Sucks we only getting one new one.
