Can we get an option to melee without using the ability?
So, let's say some thralls or something got close to you, but you didn't want to use your energy drain until embrace the void was finished, or you wanted to save your disintegrate/scorch/blink strike for an emergency. Your only options there would be to either use your melee charge, or shoot at them (which can be awkward for some weapons).
That's why I think we should get a choice whether or not we want to use the melee charge. It could be something like tap the melee button for a normal melee, and hold for a charged one.

Thanks for posting, see you got reply with some hopes of it being passed up... i posted same thing way back in first month and got a lots of people agreeing, no Bungie people though, just couldn't understand why wasting a charged mellee on a lvl3 thrall or whoever.. though back then also asked for direction buttons to actually be relevant, ie load/use a synth.. now can see why that wasn't already included :)

Yeah, something like an option to be able to Toggle on or off the ability to hold the button in to activate said Melee Charge, instead of just pressing like normal. Nothing wrong with such a feature. I approve.

Yeah, I'll second the right thumb click changed to melee and melee charge staying default. That's what me and my clan mates have been bitching for since forever.

yes, warlocks should do a normal hit like a titan ... and the aoe melee needs to hold the button for 0.3 seconds... and only be able to do it with a charge

Yes, please. Nothing worse than tossing a smoke when you want to stab something in the face.

This ^^ especially as a hunter when you try and melee and accidentally throw your smoke or knife. And now you have to wait for the cooldown. And it can be as simple as hold the melee button to use your melee ability as the OP said in their post.

This... This x1000. I hate how I have to be so careful as a Titan about who I punch, lest I accidentally use it on a Captain or another enemy (with regards to the ability that gives you a melee charge back if the enemy dies).
