Seriously, Bungie, you can't ignore these posts any longer.

A large portion of the posts in the feedback section are asking for optional matchmaking on all activities, in particular for raids. I did notice that Cosmo has recently responded to one of these posts acknowledging that it is the most requested change by the community. How can you continue to ignore this? Cosmo responding to posts is not a response, it's an acknowledgement. Your reasoning in this past about how the experience would not be great is no longer valid. Everyone would be aware of the pitfalls when selecting to matchmake for a raid and if they weren't then they would soon find out. I have always hated having to advertise on forums like some kind of lonely heart for people to play with. I end up with randoms who may or may not conform to the things I have asked for, pretty much what would happen if I used in game matchmaking. Or even worse, not conforming the the requirements of those who are higher level with better weapons. Your response to this in the past (remember 'must have gally'?) nerf the damn gally! You now have a community that has built up around your game comprising of players, websites, forums, and potential 3rd party apps, it is there and willing to play but your failure to address certain requests is damaging. I understand that optional matchmaking will have a detrimental effect of the LFG sites that have grown over the past 18 months but they are not, and should not, be central to the experience. I do not understand why I should have to be taken away from the game world to find people to play with. I really only play content that offers matchmaking now. I get sick of running trials bounties because every time someone leaves it's back to the forums. It is tedious so I don't do it. No reason to log in on a weekend anymore. And raids, I just don't bother. It's not worth the time or effort. So that is two major pieces of endgame content that I don't play in a game I have sunk a lot of time and money into (£125 and 600+ hours). If there was matchmaking on raids and trials then that would be a hell of a lot more hours. Really, at this point, it just looks like you are trying to put more barriers in the way of players to get the gear that will get them to the level cap. In the next update you have matchmaking on one PoE mode to help players get to level 320 so they can then go on to forums to find people to play a harder version to hit max level. This is a joke. I think you do your community a disservice by assuming all of them would be AFK, without mic, unable to work together just because they were matched by choice through an in game system. My experience of forums is that people there can be all of those things too. So it is no better or worse just tedious and frustrating. This is more an issue of will than skill. You know how to implements it. You will have had the discussions and theorised how it would be done. You may even have a test version of it running. You can talk about the ongoing conversation between you and the community all day but unless you act on this all that talk will be just that; talk. Listen to your community and act on the voice as it shouts loudly into the forum void: OPTIONAL MATCHMAKING ON ALL ACTIVITIES! Edit: this has been top trending for a while no and shows little sign of slowing. I just wanted to recap what has been said so far as there is a lot! As a rough calculation around 80% commenting agree with the idea of OMM and the rest disagree. There have been some very constructive comments and views made by both. The most prominent argument against is that it would have a detrimental affect on players ability to find teams on lfg as more people would be using OMM instead of lfg. A solid argument really that I acknowledged in the original post but does highlight that OMM would be well used. The second most common argument against is the quality of the players you would be matched with, I.e. Going AFK, no mic, etc. The counter to this has been that not every player is like that and for the most part would want to complete at least a portion of the content. The truth is that any implementation of OMM would not be perfect and would require work but it is better than not having it at all. I want to thank everyone, regardless of stand point, for commenting on this post and adding to the argument. Even the guy who thinks my view does not carry weight because I have only been playing for over 600 hours :)
