• Its wonderful really, I have paid for and downloaded all the halo 2 dlc, it turns out Microsoft sold me a faulty 360 with RROD, they admit this and replace it, but now it says my halo 2 DLC is corrupt and I cant download it again. wonderful. value for money that.

 • You don't see the Halo 2 maps in your history because it's for 360 content only. I found Xbox Support on Twitter and this is what I got out of them. ------------------------ @xboxsupport So when are you guys putting the Halo 2 DLC back up so we can play it before it goes away? @vots56 We are currently unsure about DLC and if/when it will be avail again. Keep watching us for updates.^JC @xboxsupport OK, but u can't play H2 online unless u have the DLC. And if you have a new Xbox or deleted them, you need to redownload (cont) @xboxsupport and I'd say the majority of H2 players fall into that category and need to redownload. So a lot of people won't be (cont) @xboxsupport won't be playing in Bungie's farewell day. (cont) @xboxsupport You guys need to do the right thing and put the DLC back up since you took it off without warning. Let us play our game again! @Vots56 We understand your frustration. We will pass on your suggestion to the powers that control that DLC.^JC ---------------- Looks like Xbox Support did indeed lie to me and said the DLC was going back online. I suggest ALL OF YOU TO TWITTER THESE GUYS AND COMPLAIN. I got this issue on Kotaku but we all need to voice our opinions on this. Let's continue the movement of bring back the Halo 2 DLC!

 • I just talked to Xbox Support. My problem is the following. Although my xbox hard drive can fully recognize (by name) all four Halo 2 DLC map packs (Bonus Map Pack, Killtacular Pack, Maptacular Pack, Blastacular Pack), my Halo 2 game cannot recognize the downloaded content. A paraphrasing of the error message that I received:
File Damaged Your downloaded content is corrupted or damaged. Please try downloading it again.
After over an hour of unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem, the issue was ultimately escalated to some "upper management"/"problem resolution" team. Their plan is to call me back with info in the next 24-48 hours. For me, I'm 90% sure it's a DRM issue caused by my recent replacement 360 console. Transferring licenses using the online tool at xbox.com did not fix the problem, and I suspect that this is because the content was written before the license transfer tool... The problem is compounded by the issue that folks have noticed already, which is that the Halo 2 DLC servers no longer have the map packs available for download. One interesting thought that my support guy had was that you could try downloading the map packs again (presuming that you had done so previously) by using the Download History page, available under Account Management. For me this didn't solve the problem, because after checking three times, I determined that there was no Halo 2-related content recorded in my history. Supposing that you did manage to find the map packs in your download history, I don't even know whether you'd be able to download them again, because as mentioned above, the servers don't have the maps on them. So you still wouldn't necessarily have any place to "download again" from...

 •
Posted by: urk On it. Not sure what, if any, solution we can work out, but we definitely can't adjust the playlists over the weekend. Sit tight.
If the requirements could be lifted at the very least it would be great. Going back to the grass roots of BTB will be a blast.

 •
Posted by: WickedCobra03 Well, I do have the map pack disc, but this has much more severe implications. The about $100 or so I have spent on Xbox Live content for the Xbox and Xbox360 combined will no longer be available to me one day...so does that mean microsoft is going to mail me that money back? This is kind of BS once you think about it. So much for an all digital future... I AM NO LONGER PART OF IT!
They better give us a refund or something. We bought those dlc's to play the games we loved and now they are removing them. They should still keep the dlc's up and running, people still play original xbox games.

 • I just got my xbox back from repairs Friday and I had to redownload my halo 2 dlc since it was "corrupted," but of course I couldn't. That sucks majorly... :( Just curious though, what stops Microsoft from just putting the stuff on the marketplace? All it requires is a local license and the actual file, right? Even if they couldn't do that, couldn't they make an app thing like they've done with waypoint, facebook, etc. to allow downloads of original xbox dlc through an emulation of the content download feature or something like that? I'm just saying it can't be that hard to allow us to get the dlc.

 • Wow, you are kidding me, I decided to play Halo 2 again today, and than i was not able to play hardcore due to not having the available maps, than i check here, see this. and that XBL is removing support for original xbox games? looks like im going back to XBC and canceling an XBL account i had open since the release of halo 2. EDIT: just adding to the post, im able to play Halo 2 by using my old HDD for the 360 got 2 360's because my first 360 is unusable RROD. (my original xbox (with replaced HDD) and original Nintendo still work) ive had to replace my 360. i regret paying for a second 360 (voided warranty when i replaced fans (which increased its lifetime by a couple years) and I am very sad to see what has happened to Microsoft support of original xbox games (especially after them SELLING HALO2 ON THE XBL MARKETPLACE) This is not the kind of service i will support, and although there are many things i have enjoyed playing on XBL, and single player games i have bought (geometry wars being by far the best.) I will not spend another cent on anything related to a Microsoft gaming console. EDIT#2: disregard what i said about it working on my old HDD, it does not work on it. (i lied and assumed it would work earlier.) I am going to leave my account closed, I love bungie and personally love the entire halo franchise, but i cannot handle what how Microsoft treats Bungie and any other company that devoloped games for the orignal xbox, I will not support the inferior 360 getting support over the superior original xbox. • I just checked and all my maps are there. Problem is my xbox has been freezing lately when playing H3 and tech support told me I have to format my hard drive. Which would delete all my DLC. The only advice they had was to purchase a memory card ($20-$30) to save the maps which were originally free. If they are going to kill H2 the least they could do is leave the maps available for download so it could live on in LAN. I'm looking forward to the H2 deal of the week map pack thats probably coming soon with a 800 ms point price tag [Edited on 02.07.2010 4:22 AM PST]

 •
Posted by: Vots33 GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I just got off the phone with Microsoft and they said they're going to make an exception with Halo 2, and put the DLC back up on the servers! He told me keep an eye out within the next week or two, and there will be an announcement made that the maps will be available on Xbox.com.
• ahhh i see what ur saying that used to happened to me, i figured out it was my disc(which i noticed was horrible scratched when i looked hard enough, i think it is the dust that was collected on the disk that scratched it) so i just borrow 1 from my friend which is not scratched at all

 • @gwarrior like i said before when i erased all data off my hd and then got in h2 all the maps on the DISC worked including MP..but then if i signed and downloaded that update then pretty much it makes my SP and the MP maps on the DISC not work at all...so i don't know the issue behind that..
