"House of Nobles" Story Mission idea; Fallen allies! Drive a Walker!

I like these ideas!

I don't like these ideas...

Variks is one of my favorite characters in Destiny. He is the inspiration behind this idea; "All that are Fallen are not lost, yesss?" The idea is that there would be another Fallen House- called the House of Nobles- that seeks to ally itself with the City. They are led by Proksis, Kell of Nobles- he's like Skolas, only 1. He's not crazy, and 2. He wants to help us, not kill us. Proksis believes that the Fallen House of Nobles can redeem itself in the eyes of the Great Machine by joining with the Guardians in their battle against the Darkness. To that end, he would aid the Vanguard in hunting down the disgraced lost Fallen of House Kings, House Devils, House Winter, and House Exile. This would be the start of that. Bear with me; I have 2 mission ideas here, but these would be just be the tip of the iceberg for a House of Wolves-style expansion: House of Nobles -The Fallen House of Nobles wish to ally themselves with the city. As a token of their goodwill, they have offered the Vanguard intel on the hidden lair of the House of Kings. Meet the Noble Kell- Proksis- in the European Dead Zone, and see what he has to offer. Objectives: X. Speak with Proksis, Noble Kell. X. Locate a disabled Fallen Walker. X. Defend the Walker while your Ghost repairs it. X. Use the Walker to drive back the Fallen Kings. This mission starts you off in the ruined streets of a city in the European Dead Zone. Follow the waypoints to the old fallout bunker where Proksis is waiting.
"*gurgle* Greetings to you, Guardian. You speak to Proksis- Kell. Of. Noblesss. *long gurgle* I have... a proposal. A... deal to offer, to your Vanguards. One that I believe may be of benefit to both of us..." - Proksis, Kell of Nobles
When you meet Proksis, he is surrounded by non-hostile Fallen of the House of Nobles. He offers you a deal; if the House of Nobles may take refuge within the Last City, then he will provide the information and the tools needed to bring down the other Fallen Houses- starting with the enigmatic House of Kings. Accept his deal, and he will give you the access codes to a disable Fallen Walker located nearby.
"*gurgle* For your Ghost, I will provide location of lost Fallen Walker. Kings would not expect Guardians to turn their own weapons against them, yesss? Find it, restore it... and you and I, we will show Kings what Guardians and Eliksni may accomplish together... *amused gurgling*" - Proksis, Kell of Nobles
Interact with Proksis to accept his deal, the venture pack out into the city. It's a long way to the courtyard where the damaged Walker lies, but there are Pikes in the area for you to drive. Just watch out for Fallen patrols, including enemy Pikes, as you make your way through the city ruins. When you find the downed Walker, clear out all enemies in the area, then deploy your Ghost near the Walker so he can repair it. It will only take him 3 minutes to repair- in that time, you must hold the line against an assault by the House of Kings. During this battle, Proksis will send a Noble Skiff with reinforcements- including a Noble Captain and several Vandals- to help you. Once the Walker is repaired, your final objective will be to board it and use it's weapons to wipe out the remaining Kings and destroy the incoming Skiffs. The Walker's controls are as follows:
Fallen Walker Controls (Xbox & PlayStation) Left Thumbstick - Steer Right Thumbstick - Look/Aim RT/R2 - Fire Chaingun LT/L2 - Fire Shock Cannon RB/R1 - Fire Shockwave LB/L1 - Launch Shock Mines RB + LB/R2 + L2 - Charge Main Cannon (use RT/R2 to fire Main Cannon)
The last Skiff will drop off another Fallen Walker for you to destroy. Take it out, and Proksis will praise you for your combat prowess. Now the time has come to put your newly-acquired firepower to good use. Noble Cause -The Kingship Morniks-Fel is hovering over the European Dead Zone, and serves as the King's main base of operations in the European Dead Zone. Using the captured Fallen Walker, ascend the Castle steps and blast that Ketch out of the sky. Objectives: X. Commandeer the Noble Walker. X. Proceed to the Castle Gates. X. Ascend to the Castle's peak. X. Destroy the Ketch before it escapes. You begin this mission in the same Courtyard where the previous mission ended. Ahead of you is an ruined skyscraper known as the Castle, which is controlled by the House of Kings. High above the European Dead Zone is a Kings Ketch, the Kingship Morniks-Fel, which you could destroy using the Walker's weapons. The top of the Castle will provide the ideal vantage point to fire on the Ketch.
*amused gurgle* Noble Walker is functional, Guardian. Kings will not be able to stop you. Wipe. Them. Out. *angry gurgle* All of them..." - Proksis, Kell of Nobles
Board the Walker just like before, and start heading down the street towards the Castle perimeter. The Kings have set up a barrier that the Walker's weapons can destroy- but first, there are a hundred Fallen Kings and enemy Pikes standing in your way. Mow them down as you approach the gate- when your in range, use the main cannon (RB + LB/R2 +L2) to destroy the gate. Keep going inside- the collapsed floors of the skyscraper provide a ramp that leads to a cargo elevator that can take you to the top of the Castle. Once at the Castle Peak, there will be more Kings for you to kill- including an Archon Priest called Xukaas, King Archon. He's armed with a Scorch Cannon, and can deal serious damage to your Noble Walker if you don't take him down quick. There are also several King Captains armed with Scorch Cannons as well. Once you've dealt with the Archon and his servants, more Skiffs will arrive with reinforcements; don't wait for them to land. Use the Noble Walker's weapons to shoot them down if you can, but if the do land, be wary of more Scorch Captains dropping from the Skiffs. After the first wave of Skiffs, Proksis will warn you that the enemy Ketch is on approach. The Ketch is only vulnerable to your main cannon- let it charge up, and make sure the targeting laser is placed over the Ketch before firing. After it first takes damage, two more Skiffs will descend on the rooftop. Take them out, along with any ground troops they may drop. Each shot you take at the Ketch will drain one-quarter of it's health. Each time it's hit, two more Skiffs will arrive with more enemy reinforcements. Once the Ketch is down to it's last quarter of health, it will begin to flee- when this happens, ignore the Skiffs and focus on the Ketch. Take your shot, and blast it out of the sky. If you fail to destroy it in time, the Ketch will engage it's warp drive- the resulting shockwave will destroy the Walker and wipe out your Fireteam, causing you to be Consumed by the Darkness... so don't miss. * * * That's all I have, for now. Tell me what you think!

  • Probably already mentioned but Fallen Walkers are not piloted. They are completely autonomous robots like Shanks and Servitors.

    • Awesome idea. Bungie hire this guy right now if you're listening. Really though pretty epic stuff. The only thing i might suggest is reaching a point where you must disembark. But that kinda rings the spot down the ketch idea. On the whole I love and I would 10/10 play it.

      • One problem with that... Fallen Walkers are completley automated. They are basically shanks with bigger guns and legs.

      • I really like this idea but instead of a mission for going to the ketch, there should be a Raid. Raid Name: The Challange. Description: He's heard of your deeds... prove him that your a Kingslayer. The Kell of Kings challanges the best Guardians that the city has to offer. (Obviously six Guardians). You make your journey up to the King's Ketch with your fellow Guardians. The Kell has threatened to wipe out the City with weapons at his disposal as well as the House of Nobles, so The Kell of the Nobles, (Sorry I can't remember his name), Leaves to protect his house. The Challange is a fight to the death. So if the King's Kell wins then he probably blows up the City. If you win then the House of Kings goes into exile and can never threaten the city again. When you get to the Ketch, you arrive on a platform, there is a small army of Fallen Kings who part a path for you when you approach the door. Then the Kell of Kings comes on the speaker and speaks in Fallen and then the small army starts attacking you. Once you defeat the Fallen, Variks calls in and tells you, "Kell of Kings has tricked you, guardian. He is attacking the City and the Great Machine.... stop him" You move to the weapons room where you encounter the first boss. Drosis, Slayer of Light. Drosis has three platforms which he stands on and as you damage him. He then teleports to the next platform and then the last one, once he teleports to all three and he isn't dead then the raid team is killed and wiped. You have to damage the reactors that are under Drosis by aiming a Lightning Chain Cannon at them, (Stormcallers, Strikers, and Bladedancers who go near them get bonus Super Energy). However the Lightning Chain Cannons are pointed in the opposite direction and must be pointed forward by killing Vandals who are renamed as Weapon Masters. On killing the Weapon Masters, ( There are two per cannon) you pick up a gear and a lever which you bring to the Cannon. When the Cannon fires at the reactor below Drosis, he can be DPS'd for a short duration and he will then proceed to teleport to the next platform. Meanwhile this is happening, waves of enemies will spawn and try to kill you. When Drosis is dead Variks will return on the comm and tell you where to go next. "Proceed to engine room, Guardian." Since the way to the engine room has been blocked off, you find your way outside of the ship and starting up some good old fashioned parkour. Platforms are moving back and forth and there are a few huge circular platforms where they spin at different paces. Once you finish parkouring, you re-enter the ship and find yourself in the Engine room. (Like in Fallen S.A.B.E.R, there is a huge Shank but its like 3 times bigger than the Fallen Saber. Grecko, The Engineer, is the boss in this room and he can kill you by sucking you up in a vacuum like fashion and throwing Void bombs at you. In order to kill him you must make him suck up Solarified Pieces of Junk to break some Circuits. These items can spawn once you make him get over exhausted from chasing you and he vents out fire, (Solar Subclasses gain a slight super increase but if you get too close then the fire will kill you) After killing Grecko you move into a Dark room then you move forward and realize that you're in a maze, (Not like Golgoroth's maze. This maze is hard to navigate and has thin lanes) Once reaching the exit, you find a lift leading to the bridge. Once up you realize that you are in a type of arena area. Then steam rises from the floor and it opens and reveals.... Zakese, Kell of King's. Variks - Beware Guardians, he is stronger than you think... Zakese has his own modified Scorch Cannon which can shoot burst shots. In order to make Guardians move, he deploys his Void Burners (Shanks) ,(Void Subclasses recieve extra super energy but take more void damage). However his Scorch Cannon is Magnatized so a big magnet should do the job. In the ceiling is a Solar Magnet that can only be activated by its Arc generaters which are offline. Luckily there are Lightning Chain Cannons in the room. Zakese only has three Scorch Cannons so like with Drosis, you only have three chances to kill him, or overload all three generators and gain extra time in killing him, (Which is most likely harder). Weapon Masters spawn for the Chain Cannons and the Chain Cannons activate the Generators which activate the magnet which rips Zakese's Gun out of his hands and lowers his shield. When he is dead, Variks comes back on. - Well done Guardian now come back to the reef with you're new Fallen friends. Endgame Screen: Reward.... 420 Gjallahorn.

        • This would be great but the likelihood of bungo listening to ANY of our ideas is lower than the likelihood of jet fuel melting steel beams

        • I was quite disappointed with Destiny's game design because, while TTK brought great improvements, interaction with our environment is still not very developped. Sure, we can occasionally drive pikes use turrets, but that's really not enough because we always scan stuff and shoot ennemies! I always thought it'd be great to have Fallen allies that fought with us on Patrol and such. Imagine a battle between Judgement House and Wolf House or something. Also, a Fallen raid! What I envisionned was like at the end of Halo 3 with the 3 Scarab Tanks, that'd be great with 3 Fallen Walkers that you'd have to destroy with 6 people in total.

        • You really put time into this and I applaud you. I wish Destiny was this awesome. Special quests like this would be awesome. Even getting a nobel fallen vendor in the tower Mabye? Down where the speaker and emote thing are?

        • Good Fallen are cool, but I desperately want Variks to turn evil. I can't shake the feeling that the description on Does Not Bow refers to him...
