One thing I've never seen mentioned is: if we over-balance all the classes/subclasses, what will differentiate them from one another?
Just coming over from another thread, where someone brought up the "double hunter grenade" (i.e. the "wombo combo") and the keen scout perk which allows Hunters to track their targets.
I have to admit, I don't play my Hunter much any more, but both of those perks strike me as very "Hunter-like". If we take that away, wouldn't the Hunter become a little less unique among the classes?
Not that I'm advocating one class over another. I play all three (my Titan a little more than the other two) and I feel like the "Class Wars" are a little childish and silly. Granted, there have been some needed changes. (I supported a Sunbreaker "nerf", though I think Bungie took it a little too far. However, that's beside the point.)
A penny for your thoughts, Guardians, but please keep it polite. Rude, derogatory, snide (etc) comments will be ignored or outright muted. :)

The only Class nerf I felt was ever needed was when Titans were able to spam hammers. I have been ok with everything else, even if I did find them personally annoying to get killed by in the Crucible. I never took it as a reason for any sub-class to be nerfed though. As for Class Wars, I guess it is silly. I'm ok with Class Pride, taking pride in being that Hunter, Titan or Warlock; which is why I completely agree each class should be unique. I also find a little bickering to be ok and fun, but people have taken it way too far. Especially when sub-classes are getting nerfed and the classes are becoming too much alike.

The whole point of the balancing is to finally root out the good and bad players in banner, trials and regular pap

Formulating a thought here.... Is it possible Bungie likes nerfs more than anyone? Keeps players grinding for that next shiny thing. Nerfing allows Bungie to kill the best guns/gear to keep the grind going. Does Bungie ever disagree with a nerf - explain why a nerf isn't necessary?
