Why exactly is there no matchmaking for the lvl 42 PoE Challenge Mode? Please give the community an actual reason. I saw nothing that required an extreme amount of teamwork and communication like the raids. This was probably the easiest thing that could have had optional matchmaking added to it ever. All that needed to be done was add a separate version of the challenge PoE that has matchmaking. Then people who want to play with friends or use LFG can use the standard version. This was a huge mistake. Seriously, answer this question as well please, who is making these horrible decisions?

the community did not buy enough silver last month. we are being punished accordingly.

He may not be at liberty to say

The only response you can expect is to tow that company philosophy line. The one where accessing their game is supposed to be part the challenge.
-
You sound like an entitled kid that asks his parents the same question over and over again. I'd give you a damn good spanking. Sit back and go find some friends to play with.
-
He said he'd pass it on. Lol.
-
They've never had matchmaking for raids or Skolas. I think it should be an option but you know it would just be a complete shit show most of the time.
-
Your barking up the wrong tree...only community managers look at this site. The devs themselves admitted they only look at fanboy sites, streams etc. like Reddit. Your better off posting there if you want devs to see it.

Let me just say... we aren't asking for this because we want to play with randoms, but more so that those of us that still play are typically the last remnants of our old fireteams. I literally can't get any of my old crew to come back to destiny, and forging new fireteams for recycled content seems like a wasted effort, considering how far bungie has let this game decay; we all know that this is just a last-ditch effort to preserve what player base you have left. This was (and kind of is) one of the best shooters ever, period. I really hate being laughed off for ecen suggesting that we do an old-school raid or even just run some strikes. You've had stiff competition these past few months, and little more than micro transactions to hold our attention in the interim. I'm no pro, but I'd say it's high time our opinions were worth heeding.

Ah, a simple question that can be answered easily. No way in hell you're getting a reply.

Edited by gallp13: 3/24/2016 11:15:47 PMI wish there was OMM as it would be a great time saver for people with limited gaming time. Notwithstanding, Bungie has answered this many times and in many places since launch. There are two core reasons behind no OMM decision; 1) OMM results in too much poor behaviour that ultimately defeats it's purpose - eg AFK and griefing ; and 2) OMM undermines Clan formation weakening Community fabric and lowering participation rates as folks have less and less clan mates with which to complete team based end game content. While it hasn't specifically been disclosed, you gain a clear understanding from a number of interviews that Bungie execs harken back to the sense of Community that grew during the LAN party days of the pre-networked console era. They are clearly trying to reignite this dynamic but don't understand the best way to do so. Unfortunately despite the fact that; 3) both reasons have been proven wrong; and 4) Over 80% of the Community wants OMM (see numerous surveys here, podcasts, stream, Twitter etc) Bungie are doggedly listening to their well meaning but misguided advisors and not their loyal and knowledgable customers. It's quite strange really ....... PS : as to who is making these decisions Bungie won't tell as to do so would almost certainly lead to a public "lynching". However it's most likely to be the supported by the lead PvE dev and his boss Jason Jones.

Odd... It worked fine in Halo Reach Firefight... POE reminds me of Firefight..... Low level POE has matchmaking....Why again would it not work for all of POE?
-
He did: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/197575613/0/0

Two possible explanations: 1. Luke Smith doesn’t want to play Prison of Elders that way. 2. With no matchmaking it takes people longer to find two other people every single time. Therefore it will take you longer to reach endgame light level and therefore it will give an illusion there is more content.
-
They will never give us proper matchmaking. At this point, they would look like idiots if they gave us endgame matchmaking, and it worked just fine......exactly like the other parts of the game with matchmaking. What people cant seem to grasp, is that optional matchmaking wouldn't introduce anything or anyone new at all........the players we would connect to through matchmaking would be exactly....100% the same people we are matching with on lfg right now. I mean how many people on a certain console want to do the exact same activity at the exact same time as you? All we want is to be able to find & connect with those other players more easily. Absolutely no reason at all not to give us OPTIONAL matchmaking........well, except for stubborn assholery that is.
-
Show your displeasure by not playing the update. If you play, you're telling them it's ok as it is. It's the only way you'll see change.
-
Endgame has never had matchmaking. Why are people still surprised at this.
-
There's no checkpoints either, RIP Destiny ever becoming good again, let alone great.
-
It's very simple: let us prove ourselves wrong. But as good will create algorithms that prepare teams adequately with tried leaders, light levels and microphones detected. Allow players to sift through potentials at a kiosk if they so wish. Allow players the opportunity to give feedback on other fireteam members. Let the recurring negativity remove unsavory players from partaking in the process as they are exploiting and obstructive to its intent. You all are smart. Act like it or tell the truth why it can't happen.

Keep dreaming. And you still play this game? Are you a -blam!-ing fanboyant?

MEGA bump! And while we're at it... CO-CO-CO-COMBO BREAKER!!!

They already answered this for endgame content. Because players have griefed and not pulled their own weight while others are expected to coordinate what they need to do in order to get a quality match. If you need proof of that, go do a lfg raid on HM with a bunch of first timers or people who are simply their for the rewards, but don't put up the damage numbers needed...

It will be refreshing to have content that doesn't require a team to complete. I just wish they would have brought up other Y1 content.
-
You'll probably just get the same two. It's too difficult of content (bullshit) and not bungies philosophy (aka we make more money off third party and use it as a form of forced advertising by the players)
