  • I'd say Brotherhood or Institute. Brotherhood is bad because they're basically huge d**ks that give you cool stuff to play with so long as you kill literally anything that isn't normal (which is technically racist towards ghouls and synths). I also say Institute because out of the 4 main faction endings, the Institute explodes in 3/4 of the endings. To me, that implies villainy (of course the bad guy is supposed to die).

  • I vote the Minutemen because Preston Garvey won't let me sit down for 5 minutes without telling me that Abernathy Farms is under attack for the 1000th time. Can't a man just sit down and enjoy his Mirelurk meat?

  • The prewar us government. Seriously read some of the computers. The experiments they were doing on us citizens were atrocious.

I would definitely say the Brotherhood. The entire game is dealt just black and white, tbh. The Brotherhood is cast in an antagonistic light through missions requiring you to force wasteland settlers to give up most of their crops and other detrimental goods. It is really an allusion to when the British soldiers were allowed to occupy people's homes way back in time. It also is helps this view that the game takes place in the Commonwealth, and anyone who paid attention in middle school history will know why. Aside from that, Maxon simply thinks he knows better than everyone in the Commonwealth (and everywhere) and is 100% a blatant ass about it. The soldiers aboard the ship (fck spelling it tbh) basically grovel to him as their standard dialogue when you interact with him. He is hoarding power, and Proctor Teagan is basically a version of him with less power. The Institute attempted to work alongside the people, but were denied because of their morally lacking story. What they needed to do to get their work done could be argued to be the most terrible moral act of all Fallout games (aside from that bomb in Megaton *wink*). As scientists they have sworn off morality to attempt to "play god" (again, this is the moral bs speaking), and truly make the human race better. Methods are underhanded and sneaky, but only because nobody wanted to try initially. I convinced my Minutemen to have peace. My agents have deployed to Diamond City and spoken their true intentions again for the second time in Fallout history. The Prydwen has fallen, and the rest of the BoS is slaughtered by Liberty Prime itself. The Institute, however morally flawed, truly wants to help. We only started kidnapping you fcks because my kid was desperate at the time, and he was depressed because he had recently learned the true story behind his mother's death. *BP owner voice* "We're sorry."

          • >Brotherhood - they are a passive good for the wasteland. Areas where the Brotherhood has a presence tend to be more stable. They exterminate ferals and super mutants only because it suits their agenda. >Institute - they are best suited for carrying humanity forward. Too detached for my taste, that and it's a matter of time until the creation defies the creator. >Railroad - Too idealistic, their agenda begins and ends at synth freedom. Like the Institute, they don't think about the consequences of their actions. I was behind the railroad 100% until I found out that one of their freed synths tuened raider and murdered dozens of innocents. >Minutemen - Commonwealth police essentially. They'd be better if they had a professional army like the brotherhood. Farmers in plainclothes packing one-shot laser muskets don't stand a chance against a feral swarm or armored up raiders sporting assault rifles. I would day the institute is the bad guy simply because they have the means to make a lasting difference yet choose to remain underground.

                • I never understood why people say the institute is bad. The "enslavement" of robots is hardly a reason to make them the bad guy . You don't tell your friend he is a bad guy because he has one of those robot vacuum cleaners. It's a ROBOT. It's designed to be helpful to mankind. The only flaw in the institutes approach is that he robots have "feelings." That a design flaw, not an institute flaw. And don't try that to say that it's unfair they leave all the other people on the surface while they are in a cozy lab. Sometimes, you have to cut off a limb to save the body. Do you think if the earth suddenly becomes inhabitable they are going to take first come first serve or citizens who could actually aid the survival of mankind?

                  • You the player. Why because you show up and all of a sudden your going around killing all these creatures in the wildlife, murdering anyone you choose to all in the pursuit to "find your son". Noone can stand against you if you choose to kill them. If you would have remained frozen soo many people would still be alive.
