There it was. The artifact, right within my grasp. Do you ever have the sensation to hesitate, just to think of what will happen next? A possible mix of exitement, nervousness, and confidence. But whatever it was, I was frozen in it. A horn blared somewhere in the ship and broke the spell, I reached out and took what what I now know caused our fate. I was young, foolish some might say, not my favorite way to describe myself, more confident, or self-respect than foolish. The artifact was no bigger than say, a human fist, and glowed a dark green light, easily hideable in a pocket of sufficient size. I could have simply left it there and let the Adrodicus army from planet Halifax destroy themselves through civil warfare and lack of natural resources. Yet, I was not one to disobey an order, not with promise of ritches or fame ahead of this very skirmish. I, FrigginLazer007 was to infiltrate one of their flagships, The First Daylight, and steal the artifact to ransom it back, their leader, Halifax the great, was roumored to highly value the artifact, so much that if one of the common soldiers even touched it, he would be either sent to be executed, or to become a slave. I grabbed the artifact and headed for the nearest exit, I could hear my men fighting the small Adrodicus militia on board, From the sound of things, I imagined that my men had already secured several rooms on the flagship. As confident as I was, I was still careful, the Ardodicus weaponry could put several rounds of highly-radioactive ammunition into a soldier with a well-aimed shot. I turned to see a dying adrodicus trying to stangle a soldier until the soldier kicked him in the stomach...well, adrodicii were humanoid in comparison to humans, so the soldier couldv'e kicked his brain, or his intestines, or quite frankly, his testicles, with the way the adrodicus let go and screamed in pain, I'm guessing either choice 1 or 3. So whataya think?
