Reach looks cool

I agree. Halo can do alot better than COD, mind you COD is a great game. Although i'm Halo to the heart. One thing atleast on legendary difficulty make the Elites really elite! In the books(Which Bungie had to read over and approve as canon)Chief struggled against all kinds of Elites in hand to hand, when it was with weapons anything above a major was also difficult and he kept on getting lucky (Not to downplay Chief and the Spartan's skill). Make them jump over grenades, hijack vehicles, have some sort of last stand resilience, just the kind of things you'd expect from an Elite! And also i think the elites faces should be changed to how they were in halo 3/wars. Cause the one in the Reach trailer doesn't look cool with it's mandibles extended. But one thing i need to know is if we'll see Thel Vadam'ee(Arbiter)as he was during reach as Supreme Commander Thel Vadam'ee, it'd be amazing to see him in the wicked purple armour maybe killing some odsts by himself or maybe a spartan! =P

i heard this game is gunna be like cod mw2, with like perks and stuff. speaking of cod i love halo 3 and odst but bungie you have got to make reach kicka$$ because cod sucks and you haven't done anything to compete with them like no one is online anymore, bungie you have to do more get halo back on the map!that my two cents
-
I thought that Halo Reach was supposed to follow the book Fall of Reach?
-
make me love Halo again Bungie!
-
soo everyone in the team are spartans? or are they ODST?
-
Ok this video is an epic fail by Bungie. (1) All the SPARTAN II's are in orbit when the battle for Reach begins and so this scene can not happen. (2) The female SPARTAN in the baby blue armor is complete BS because every SPARTAN's armor is more of an olive tint after so much use. (3) Even if this female SPARTAN has a prosthetic arm, it would be incased inside the armor anyway to make it react even faster like the rest of the armor does with the human body and it would protect the arm with the shield emitter that are incased in the armor as well. (4) No SPARTAN knew about Peguasy because it was a top secret op and was completed with SPARTAN III's that nobody knew about except ONI brass and the only ones to survive were Tom and Lucy. (5) No one can ever just join up with the SPARTAN's because they were raised from birth and know everybody and even if some one wanted to join the SPARTAN program, they wouldn't be able to because of the specific criteria required in order to get the augmentations so that a person could become a "SPARTAN" and so that they could survive what the MJONIER armor would do to them. In conclusion, Bungie needs to fix their story line cause it is an epic fail at the moment. Otherwise the graphics were great and setting aside the story line, looks pretty good.

It looks ok I guess, but I'm not 10 any more, and all that "OOH GAWD, THE GRAFFIX" was never really my bag anyways (which is the only reason I halfway like MW2 is because of the story...which isn't about WWII), and all the pretty cinimatics in the world don't tell us about the game. I know you lads have to make an impression-and it looks very nice, but to someone who's read the books and all, it's sorta confusing. I mean, I'm confused as hell as to what the story is supposed to be about. It's yet another prequel? I'm a little confused as to where the excess of SPARTANs came from, whats the deal with them, or is that another one of those ambiguous "You'll find out later". Bottom line: Will this game be significantly different from the current expectations of Halo? I'm not going to keep as much on top of this as I would have a few years ago, I'm into Warhammer 40,000 now.

have no idea where to reply to the whole post thing so im going to use this as a test subject ;).. ive watch the halo reach video and it freaking rocked.. has me so psyched.. odst had me psyched but not as bad as this one.. i hope in the next game after reach we meet and get to destroy this new covernant ;) mmmmmm death.. any one know how to apply to test halo reach out? i never wanted to apply to try it out and test any halo game out before as i want to this one.. i mean damn if i play halo3 for days on end =) i can just imagine wat lack of sleep imma get with reach hahaha god humans need to make devices that allows you to control games even in your sleep =) i would so get so much more gaming in on halo 3 and odst hahahaha..mmm to think reach..
-
Same here, I want it to be the entire story that took place there. John as kid, and his whole story until they go into slipspace. Then I could play the whole series and start where it left off.... like playing all the star wars movies in order. ( BTW: First post...)
-
Hopefully its not just halo ghost recon because i really don't want that. A more team oriented halo can be cool but I'm really hoping for the story from the beginning with John as a kid and you exploring the Reach story as him learning and doing the missions from the book.
Posted by: Woody 543
Posted by: Urmomidopulus I think I've actually figured out how one of them has the service tag "256"; There were 300 total spartan candidates, out of those 300, 150 were chosen. So, if he was candidate 256, he would then be Spartan 256? That's what I'm making of it anyway... And I understand the need to expand and be free with the game, but fighting alongside Kelly, Fred, and Linda would have been awesome! But Im glad that idea of the 300 candidates popped into my mind, now i can rest easy and wait for the game! ha
There were 150 candidates 75 were chosen
hmm... this is a mystery... I say we post this in the forums for further discussion and insight from other ppl!!!

Ya I've got some questions as well. First off, who are these Spartans? Secondly, what kind of game will this be? Obviously It will probably be an fps, as I don't really see you guys doing a third person game because I assume the people working on this weren't around Bungie when ONI was made, so they wouldn't want to revisit those roots. Is it going to be like a battlefield game with choppers and pelicans and wide expanses? Is it just going to be another piece of the story? Because if so, I already payed for the novel version of this, and I am hoping this doesn't come out and ruin the book for me, as I enjoyed it very much. I just don't see why if things look relatively the same, you can't just make all this stuff DLC or 15 dollar games that you can get at gamestop. Why should I go out and buy your new $60 game with only a few hours of story, and no new multiplayer? I did it for ODST because finally there was a survival-esque mode like Marathon had, and I am enjoying Firefight very much. But as your consumer, I must ask, What will be so special about this particular installment?

would this game be compatible for project natal when it came out or are you guys still working on that. how many missons are there in reach and are there any new weapons, enemys', vehicles, or ect. i heard that you/ bungie is selling the halo title and all games by halo to microsoft. if so why, cause you guys are the favorite game makers of billions of poeple and you guys have inspired me to become a game animator and graphic designer from halo. the whole story of master chief is so amazing and brutal how he is so lucky. and if you dont sell halo to microsoft what game will you make after halo, and will it be a whole lot better or suck like call of duty modern warfare? plz reply [Edited on 12.15.2009 1:39 PM PST]

who is Gee-off Keighley?

Ditto... the Truth and Reconciliation in terms of cinematography was the best thing that has ever happened in gaming...period. One thing i really hope they bring back to the table is plasma deflecting off the Hunters' shields because when you come up to the grav lift, dispense with the horde and then Hunters drop down cue the best scene in Halo gaming. Peppering them with plasma and watching it reflect off them and being barraged with green fusion coils is the scene that every other game has to live up to until now as far as i'm concerned. I loved the video too, kind of glad they left a bit to the imagination, i'm just wondering how you encounter MCPO John in the proceedings. I've been looking forward to fighting alongside Master Chief for some time now, I imagine that the cinematic that introduces him will be the pinnacle of all Halo cinematics. Your team in distress, about to be killed and then an irridescent green armoured soldier, sunset in the background sees fit to save your ass. Make it so Bungie

What I see: Vaster environments and more detailed models. YET! Bungie still cannot make a game that looks good. Same terrible textures, terrible specular mapping, and washed-out textures.... Is there even any detail bumping?! Looks like this game will be just for the money and suck, just like ODST and Halo Wars. I sure hope I am wrong though.

um gotta say it. Halo 1 pistol?!?!?!?!
-
perfecttt!=) i hope there is a night level like The Truth and Reconciliation level in halo 1.=) and we will use the sniper with night vision! bungie dont forget a level with sniper and night vision!!thats will be fantasticcc:) The Truth and Reconciliation is my favorite campaing level ever...i hope there is something similar in Halo Reach.
Posted by: Woody 543 We know that the initial spartan program was kept a secret, as was the spartan-III program. Who's to say there could not have been another spartan-II program that was kept secret, and because there are no characters from the novel, it in no way whatsoever goes against the novel, as it is seperate and builds upon the story of reach. If however bungie do not explain this discrepency then that does create a problem, if explained then it will be fine. epic video, amazing, can't wait for the game!

So, uh... I'm REALLY hoping I'm being blind or something, but, uh... Can Spartans teleport? Jorge(? Heavy weapons guy, as it were), is standing by the table as the commander and the FNG leave, yet in the next shot, is ahead of the group, with the other Spartans. I had to watch it a few times, in case I was wrong, but I can't see what else it could be. Sorry if it's been seen before/been explained, but I read the whole thread. Anyways, other than that, the vid was AWESOME. Really hyped for Reach now, (Not that I wasn't anyway!), and cannot wait until we get to see more! Thanks guys.
