The Venusian swamp grew dense with ozone as lasers arced through the marsh and bullets flew. He gave almost all he had into his last super. His void split in the air and fell all around us. The Vex disintegrated into nothingness, but not all of them. A Minotaur, half destroyed, lunged out nowhere and speared his chest. With a flick his palm he sent it back to oblivion, but the damage was done. I rushed to his side. His light was fading fast. In his palm a flicker of purple fire remained. He held it up, clasping my hand. "Before it...winks out" He never breathed again. I cradled him in my arms. My friend, my heart, my companion, had slipped away. But his light was still there. It was a spark, but a spark is enough. The Vex were still coming. I took his void with my hands. I was its master now. Now I could see what I had been missing, the beauty of the void I could not capture with fire or arc. I pulled back from the nothingness. A lance of violet came out nothingness. I took aim at the Vex. Their remnants cackled and sparked with electricity. With the memory of Kalos behind me, I let loose the power of the void for the first time.
