Back in SRL, I moved a sparrow from my main to an alt character through the Destiny Android app. I didn't just put it in his inventory, but also equipped it. Ever since, the button with the down arrow to go to the bottom inventory screen has that shine you get when you have new stuff in your inventory and it never goes away. I've tried moving my sparrows back to the vault and back both through the app and the game but the shine is still there.
