On my free time (while pooping mostly) i was thinking about an idea for a "horde" mode.
Not like the PoE at all really just you and 5 of your friends surviving waves of enemies who will get stronger and in greater number based on how much waves you've survived.
The loot on this game mode will be determined by how many rounds you've completed for example:
Round 7: fusion rifle or arm piece
Round 10 (1st boss battle): sniper rifle or shotgun or sidearm or chestpiece
Round 15: rocket launcher or LMG or leg piece or class item
Round 20 (2nd boss battle): pulse rifle or hand cannon or auto rifle or scout rifle
Round 25 (3rd boss battle): helmet and shader
Final round 30 (final boss): Exotic sword or exotic engrams and emblem
*note* each round completion will give glimmer, some materials and 1 mote of light (3 for each boss round completed).
The challenge of this playlist is that if everyone dies, you will get a "loss" kind of trial of osiris, with 10 wipes you have to start all over to the last checkpoint. There will be checkpoints at the end of round 10 and 20.
The first few rounds could be really easy like you're only facing a big number of thralls and that's it, then maybe add a few cursed one and a few major ones as each round goes, and then add sone kights and so on.
Also, there could be some modifiers added to it like for example: "hunger" increase movement speed of thralls by 30% idk let's be creative!
**thanks to rickylumic 77 here are his ideas for some modifiers
Some ideas for the modifiers?
Long Night - Taking damage slowly drains your super bar.
Exponential - Orbs of Light recharge grenade and melee charges to full.
Entropy - Enemies have their shields randomly reassigned.
Dance of Death - Agility and movement speed increase massively when enemies are in close proximity.
Triumphant - All headshot kills produce explosions.
Reasons Unknown - Guardians spontaneously teleport to a random location when critically injured.
For the drops i don't have names for the armors yet but i got some ideas for the weapons:

Special moves:
-blocking
-Ground pound "hit the floor with a devastating blast pushing back any enemies around you" (consume 15 heavy ammo energy out of 60 max)
**this sword will have some hive-ish look on it and will be very massive. It will require two hands to swing it**
Thanks again to the nice feedback of rickylumic 77 i now have name for each classes armor sets :
Titan Armour:
Helm of the Pitiless
Arms of the Godless
Bones of the Helpless
Boots of the Merciless
Warlock Armour:
Fury of the Ogre
Grasp of the Knight
Heart of the Acolyte
Legs of the Thrall
Hunter Armour:
Skull of Rot
Gauntlet of Decay
Chest of Wither
Greaves of Infestation
For the bosses i got some idea but they may be modified with time idk x)
First boss: Irsh hunak, the stalker
-its basicly a fast ultra thrall that goes invisible and do sneak attacks. To damage him you and your fireteam will have to stand on the "circle of lights" that will spawn randomly giving you the "bane of the undead" buff that allows you to do damage him for a short time (~5sec).
Second boss battle: Zakree, the unforgiving
-its gigantic oger that can only be damage if one member of the fireteam is pointing the "light turret" directly at its weak spot which is a small portion of its head. Doing so will also stagger him for as long as the light of the turret is pointing at his weak spot. Thing is, you have to protect the member of your fireteam who is using the turret because he will get the "scent of decay" debuff that will attract a lot of thralls directly on him.
Third boss: Hemgar, Spawn of Decay
-its a big greenish knight covered with decay and green smoke coming out of his body. With the right arm he hold a big rotten sword that uppon hitting a guardian will leave him with the "Mark of decay" debuff that will kill him in the next 20 seconds and be transfered to any guardians that get in a 2 meter radius of the infected one. The only way to get rid of the "mark of decay" is to step on the only "circle of light" that will spawn randomly around the map and respawn somewhere random after a short period of time. And with his left hand, Hemgar, will randomly supress one member of the fireteam (exactly like the templar in VoG does. This boss can be damage at any time during the fight there is no other mecanics to him.
Final boss: Gharok-Hul, Harbinger of Despair
Now this is Allak-hul's big brother, you know the one you killed in the sunless cell? Okay so Gharok looks really similar to him but here's the catch: he is freaking huge like, its a goddamn abomination! So basicly what he does is: after a short period of time in the fight you will see "Purging ritual" in the down left corner of your screen with a 5 seconds timer. This means that after those 5 seconds, he's going to purge the ground with a wave of corrupted and decaying light. In order not to get one shot kill by this wave, you will have to jump in the air to avoid getting touched. There will be thralls and knights every where around the map chasing you so be careful! You have to be aware of the moment Gharok will strike but at the same time, you will have to clean mobs to get some air.
Then, after a certain amount of time, 2 shriekers will spawn over Gharok's head. You have to kill them quickly, because if you don't you will get the "wrath of the abomination" debuff that will...well wipe the shit out of your team. Don't forget! This wipe will count! You have a total of 10 wipes max before having to start all over from the last checkpoint
So, if you manage to kill the shriekers in time, Gharok will be staggered for 35 seconds. Then, there will be a "circle of light" that will spawn at the exact same position every time. 5 members of your fireteam will have to stand on it in order to spawn platforms (like in oryx fight) the remaining member of the fireteam will then have to ascend all the platform (its a jumping puzzle) to get to the very top right above Gharok's head to take a "relic" which is gonna be a sword and have to slam it on the boss's head. Doing so will take away 1/4 of his health bar. When 3/4 of his health bar will be taken away, he will then enrage this will cause him to engage the "Purging Ritual more often and he will swing his axe 35% faster than normal. There will be more ads including majors and one extra shrieker will spawn over his head when the time will come. For the rest, its the same, 5 guardians have to step on the "circle of light" and the other one goes on top to get the relic and deal the final blow.
**bonus round after final boss completion:**
Thanks to Hive_Kight with his feedback, here's his idea for a bonus round after you've completed the final boss battle:
Round 31: Last hope of the light
This round is all about surviving until you can't anymore. Its a death sentence round that will give you an extra chance at getting some of the legendaries and the exotic sword.
This round will be ranked across the world based on how long your fireteam have survived. The round will be timed and will get increasingly harder until the last light of your fireteam faints away. Best fireteams could be on bungie's record tracker and they could get some sweet exclusive "cosmetic" loot like emotes shaders and emblems.
the actual map: hive figured (see what i did there ;)) since its called "chamber of decay" well the map will be a big wide-opened cave with some rocks here and there to provide cover and some other hive-ish stuff.
Well there you go!, Looking foward to some feedback guys! If you made it this far, thank you very much! I appreciate it! :)
*edit: really good feedback so far! And also, i certainly did not wrote all of this while pooping that was just the thinking part x)
**edit: I've slightly altered Gharok's fighting mecanic to give it more "sense" since i also provided a description of the map, making his previous "360 ground slash" mecanic incorrect.
reached caracter's limit x)
Bump again

Interesting material and would like to see some form of a horde mode.
-
there should be a hard version were you get a "loss" and a normal mode were you have less chance of high end loot but you dont receive a "loss"
-
Time for weapons perks! Fusion rifle: readying this weapon grants a brief period increased charge rate; double arc coils: this weapon charges even faster after a kill, stacks 3 times Sniper rifle: luck in the chamber; next perk: if the last kill of the magazine is a precision kill, this weapon will deal bonus damage with the first round of the next magazine(this round will never be luck in the chamber) Shotgun: close and/or personal; cascade Sidearm: triple tap, crowd control, explosive rounds Rocket launcher: leaves a wizards poison sphere on impact; or; a dumbed down twist on wolf pack rounds but instead, tracking shrieker death blasts LMG: has firefly Auto rifle: bullets have the effect of hive shredders Pulse rifle: I can't think of anything Hand cannon: bullets do splash damage(like explosive rounds), but deal arc damage instead of solar, much like give boomers. Scout rifle: keyhole, shoot through enemies; skip rounds. My ideas so far. Some are pretty unique. It was hard coming up with stuff since we've had so much hive themed content already. I had a lot of fun though.
-
We already have a horde mode. It's call prison of elders . :/ sad really . Kinda like the weapons you describe

Bump. Replace Poe with this and make it lv40
-
-
Bump!
-
Would love to see it. I have long thought the game needed some kind of "horde" mode.
-
Good idea, but it'll never happen knowing Bungie.
-
Great idea but I'd prefer if it was cabal or something. I think we've all had enough of the hive and could use a change in variety.
-
Man I feel sorry for you all the hard work coming up with this and Bungie will never see your post.
-
Too bad Bungie is too lazy to do this
-
This is SO awesome and detailed it could be a raid! (Final Boss) but I really love how you wanted to bring PoE back! (If you got a PS3 add me I'm STARCHILD_SILENT) I wish bungie would do it but they are too lazy and I at least hope they look at it and think about it!
-
No more horde modes. Destiny's entire story was exactly that and the one attempt they did, completely sucked.
-
Holy shit. It took me a few seconds to scroll to the bottom.
-
-
Soo... The sniper would be like a year 2 Efrideet's spear? Cuz I'm all for that!
-
I don't read walls of text But let's just say I read most of this And it sounds pretty beast
-
Bump please
-
Great stuff! One thing I think would be interesting to make this a true challenge--some kind of modifier that forces you to change subclasses between rounds or sets of rounds. For example, a modifier that increases damage to void/solar subclasses and/or reduces damage caused by void/solar subclasses...then have it switch up so that you have to complete a certain number of rounds with each of your subclasses in order to progress. It would be like the old elemental burns but instead it would be focused on you and your subclass choice. Would pair nicely with the Entropy modifier and different burn modifiers so that you really have to be as resourceful as possible with all your subclasses to do well. Plus it would force everyone to try out every subclass on their character to be successful.

Has anyone in here been in the Crucible of Darksiders 2? 100 rounds, each one getting harder opponents. Part completions at lvls 25, 50, 75 and 100. Three different difficulty modifiers. This was incredibly hard and satisfying at the same time. If destiny implemented something like this, added an optional fireteam setting (1-6), this game would become legend (imho).
-
This is honestly how Poe should have been and it was what I was expecting Poe to be
-
Looks good
