Was this helpful for you? Please come back and answer the poll for improving this thread and solving more issues. PSN doesn't play nice with many ISP's unless you are like level 100 networking geek status like me and know how to make advanced rules to block throttling centers and poor routes on top of simply setting up manual static IP settings and port forwarding. Most people on PSN don't even know how to do the latter and that's the easy part. 1)Go to Portforward.com, look up your router model, follow easy to read screenshots and instructions on how to set up port forwarding and port triggering. (Do Not try to install anything from this site. That would be super dumb.) 2)Put your PS on the DMZ in your router now that it has a static IP. This should be in the same section where you get to Port Forwarding. 3)Turn off firewall settings in your router completely or all the way down. 4)Disable UPnP in your router once port forwarding is set. 5)Disable QoS in router. 6)Don't forget to do the part involving your PS's network settings! finally, 7)Change your PS's DNS to OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 (if you're already using GoogleDNS you should still try OpenDNS, it is better for PSN) Extra Credit) Try changing your MTU manual to 1400 on your PS or... Try changing your MTU manual to 1400 on your PS AND your Router You may not need to do every option on this list. Try a couple at a time and be sure to save and apply the. Reboot your PS4 your Router AND your modem. Only then should you keep attempting more of these fixes. I would advise skipping steps 3,4 and 5 your first time around and if you still experience the same issues then go for those. PM me for help if you like tl;dr Easy semi-fix for lazy folk
Start by changing JUST your DNS settings to manual on your Playstation, everything else can stay auto if you're not familiar. Change them to 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 This is OpenDNS and worst case scenario will speed up your downloads and other PSN traffic. Also try changing MTU to manual 1400 on just your PS in the same place just after you change DNS
Lolol I have fixed everything have NAT1 no issues anywhere else (speed test, etc, etc). Bungie needs to fix all this lag even if it means not allowing NAT3 or even NAT 2 connections in this game. Or just run dedicated servers for all aspects of game. I've done everything possible to get my connection the best it can be, but still have really bad lag. Even in strikes. Common bungie you have a good game here, fix it so people who try to get best connection are not at the mercy of the guys who just don't care about their connection.
