Year 2 problem's...

Inbound Comments: "Oh look, someone else complaining about Y2 and it is also a Huntard. Gtfo." "Another crying Huntard." "Are you an idiot or something?" "Just do what they do." "Get good scrub." Let's get this out of the way right now, in no regard am I a bad Trials player or a bad Crucible player. In fact, I'm a rather good player though I'm not average nor would I say advanced. I do, however, main a Hunter as I favor that Class over the others despite them all being good. (I enjoy using my Titan with friends if it's to dick around in some Classic 3's or something). I don't want to do what other people are doing either because I don't enjoy the feeling of having to do an exploit in the game simply to get a one up on other people. With that out of the way let me begin. I've already made a Topic Pole to see how everyone felt about Y1 Trials vs Y2 Trials and it showed that many others (including myself) favored Y1 Trials over Y2 and I greatly enjoyed the feedback I was getting in the comments from either side (Y1 or Y2). I thought the Pole did a wonderful job at seeing how people felt and did pretty good at getting my point across that a lot of people still like the way Destiny used to be against how it has become now. My "complaint" that makes me feel Y2 has become even worse now is in regards to Special Ammo no longer being something you instantly spawn into a game with. I actually have no problem with that, however, I will always argue that they tried to bring this new mechanic into the game far too late; which it is. They decided to take it out too late into the game, everyone has already been using it for so long, everyone is adjusted to it, everyone enjoys fighting with it, and a large margin or people will do anything in order to get it back. The resent exploit of getting Special Ammo at the start of the game by using a Sidearm or an Icebreaker or an Invective I think is rather ridiculous. In nearly every Trials game I play at least 1 to 2 of the other team is either using a Sidearm or an Icebreaker so even if they win or lose they'll still have Special Ammo the next round. I think this is sad, pathetic and quite frankly I found it pitiful to even use. Have I ever done this before? Yes, I've done it a single time and mentioned to my friend, "I'm about to be that asshole and use Icebreaker for Special boys". The reason why I did this was because someone else on the other team was doing the same thing so I decided that I would do it also and immediately regretted taking it out and using it because it felt cheap and immediately took it off. What Bungie should do in order to prevent this from being abused like it is now is simply make it that Sidearms do not start off with ammo since that's a Special just like all the other Special Weapon's. It shouldn't be favored to give you ammo. Icebreaker/Invective exploit should continue to regen ammo, yes, I don't think that should be removed however they need to make it so that whenever you die or the next round starts and you switch your Special Weapon the ammo does NOT switch over with you. It's that simple. Let's be honest here, as much as I've said it and as much as many of you have said it, Bungie is NOT stupid. They know what they're doing just like when they added SBMM and didn't tell us about the "super secret mechanic" in PvP that they PURPOSEFULLY put into the game without telling us after promising that they wouldn't keep us in the dark. They knew what they was doing from the moment they said they'd remove Special Ammo from the Crucible, they knew about the Sidearm's, they knew about the Invective and they knew about the Icebreaker. They built the game, they watch the Forum's, they watch the Streamer's, they watch the YouTube videos, they know what we are saying but there is one thing that should be obvious to everyone by now. They do not care. I don't like saying this, truly I don't. I'd like to believe that Bungie actually listens to us like we want (granted they gave us the nerf's we all called out for be them all justifiable or not) but at the end of the day we have to admit that Bungie doesn't care. They'll do just about anything they can do in order for them to gather there precious data, hell, anything to help them snatch up a quick buck at that also. Let's not forget, Destiny cut CONTENT from their game to make it seem larger than it was and the majority of us were played a fool by thinking the game was much larger than it was. I liked the game when it was Y1, and yes it had Thorn and yes it had TLW and yes it had FR and yes it had Shotpackage and yes it had Rangefinder and yes it had the Vex and yes it had the AR but that doesn't matter to me honestly. I still think it was better despite all the problem's that we have in Y2 now. To be honest, yes, I am bored with Destiny and no I won't be playing it when The Division fully launches. And no I'm not buying it for my Xbox 1, and no I'm not getting Destiny 2 when that officially launches in 2017. Destiny is dried out to me now and I doubt they'll be giving me anything in Destiny 2 to bring me back. No new enemies will bring me back, no new Subclass, no new weapons, no new story (all though I would love to play the Story for Osiris as it would involve the Vex which is my favorite Race), no new content. Bungie has failed me with this game time and time again. They've lied to us, they've barely listened to the correct people in regards to nerfs and buffs, and I don't feel like they care. For those that are wondering if I'll keep doing my Destiny Story even when The Division comes out do not worry, yes, so long as I have ideas for the Story to continue I have no intentions of stopping it till it has officially ended. I'll be reading all the comments below so please feel free to drop how you feel and feel free to disagree with me if you'd like which I'm sure quite a few of you will. That's all I had to say. Happy playing Guardian's.

  • Someone else finally wised up. The division may not be the best game to sub destiny with - your still going to be loot grinding. My problem is year 2 no land beyond paired with the absence of y2 universal remote

  • We knew that the instant Bungie decided to semi-nerf snipers (because that's exactly what they did with the special ammo change), the more...dependant and unscrupulous players amongst us would do everything in their power to get around the new system. It's an exploit. It's cheating. It's apparently not a big enough problem for Bungie to fix. Yet. I dunno, I stay away from ToO (because I am an abysmal Crucible player) so none of this really affects me. I just hate knowing people are cheating and going unpunished. Oh well...just how life works.

        • I agree with you on how special should be taken away if switching from regened ammo or sidearm while dead or in between rounds. It was too late for em to implement taking special away. But until then, if you wanna compete, you have to play with the 'meta'. I use sidearm exploit as well, but I'll be damned if I'm at a disadvantage, knowingly. At this point, I'm just finishing off grimoire and then I'm done with the game.

        • Just want to be the first to formally reply to this essay. Didn't get past the second instance of "huntard," but nonetheless congratulations are in order.
