Been letting this boil for quite a while. I want a large scale event that hits the entirety of a planet.
Here's a breakdown of how it would work:
Example planet: Earth Cosmodrome.
Time Event is live: 30-60 minutes
Time between events: 1-3 Hours
Planet Icon when you hover over it in Destination selection will show a Event live timer displaying whether the event is live or how long until it goes live.
Loot: Plentiful
Enemy Faction: Hive or Fallen
Score based on participation and overall score from killing enemies and the way you killed them (Head shot, Grenade, Super, Melee, Relic, etc.) This will prevent players from killing one enemy and getting full credit for event completion.
Score determines post-event rewards, breaking a score threshold guarantees those set reward at the end of the event.
Event specific Weaponry(As it made me sad to see that there were none for Crimson doubles.)
Event specific Armor, Ghost, and Class Item.
Random loot for completion as well as drop during the event.
Reputation: Haven't given much thought to this.
Event specific bounties: Again, haven't given much thought to this, last time we had a PVE specific event was Queen's Wrath at the beginning of Destiny, I miss it so much, though it wasn't that much of an event.
Event Breakdown:
Since the event is larger than one player can handle on their own, I would encourage 2-3 man patrol fireteams.
The event areas: Mothyards, The Stepps, Skywatch, The rocketyard, The divide, and The forgotten shores. All are areas that are public and not closed to your team only.
The event will hold objectives specific that must be completed in order to continue to the final objective.
Objective samples
1. Close the rift
Must escort a dark light relic to the rift to stabilize and close the rift. While carrying the relic you are slow and weak, you take more damage from all sources. Enemies will spawn until the rift is closed.
2. Activate Rasputin's AA Cannons
Ghost must Scan and route power to the AA Cannons to Destroy incoming Enemy ships. Players will have to stay near ghost as processes the AA Cannons.
3. Collect intel
Hunt down Powerful enemies and take their intel, they will have a be under guard by more enemies. Must collect 10 pieces of intel.
4. Destroy munitions depots
Enemies are guarding munitions depots at landing sights. Destroy 7 depots to continue.
These are just sample objectives, this could be variable based on planet or server randomization of objectives.
Final Objective: Defeat the Archon King or Hive Terror
This boss, to put into perspective, is 2-3 times larger than Atheon and crota, and could have a shield disabling objective similar to Crota and Skolas. Enemies will be abundant but have a balance power rating so they serve as a threat but shouldn't be terribly deadly to player as they are engaging the boss. Boss will not be able to be killed in one encounter, but if you hit a set damage score threshold, a participation award will be sent to you when the boss dies, meaning you don't have to be present for its death. 10 minute timer to inflict as much damage as possible before he retreats.

Upvoted to bump, hope it works out, maybe time shouldn't be 1-3 hours apart though. It should be longer, make the event special.

If they add this, it would make PvE sooo much more fun. Also it would give Bungie a reason to tweak Song of Flame for sunsinger. I have an idea for it and I hope it gets to be a reality, I made a post but I doubt it will get noticed. Anyways here are my ideas for a sunsinger with Song of Flame. Make it so Song of Flame not only reduces the grenade and melee cooldown of your allies, but also enhances your allies' supers when Song of Flame is active. Arc Blade: Increases duration and damage HoS: Grants a solar aura that damages and reduces enemy armor in close range Nova Bomb: Grants an increased armor while casting and negates self damage WoD: Increases the size of Ward of Dawn FoH: Grants an overshield after casting Fist of Havoc, also increased sprint speed and agility for 5 seconds for a quick retreat GG: Increased damage and kills leave a pool of fire that damages enemies Shadowshot: Reduce the delay for tether and further reduces enemy defences while tethered Stormcallers: No longer chains lightning, instead, shoots bolts of lightning that stuns enemies As a sunsinger in radiance w/ Song of Flame: Allows you to pick up orbs of light to extend your own super, resets the ability to create orbs after picking up 7 orbs. If not the perk, then at least give us an armor that does this. Also this is for PvE, in PvP Song of Flame will work as is currently.
