I dont think I'm the only person who's noticed this, but stuff only becomes popular when the movie comes out. People knew about star wars and enjoyed it, then #7 came out and BAM! All the sudden everone is a "hardcore fan thats always LOVES star wars". Its the same with deadpool. Nobody knew who he was and then the trailer comes out and everyone has the shirt? There only doing it to be cool . You dont need to know and "love something to be cool so stop being a fraud its only annoying to the people like me who are hardcore comic book fans that have known about these things our whole life.
STOP BEING A FRAUD!!
Edit 1: Im not saying everyone didn't know about these things.
-
I always loved Deadpool and Star Wars

If you like star trek your a trekie If you like star wars your a person. Because everyone likes star wars.
-
Everyone likes star wars man. You probably right on deadpool, but star wars has always been popular.
someone is finally waking up
-
Im kind of like that, but only when everyone was saying the things I'm into suck, but all of sudden it's the coolest thing in the world to them and then they just forget all the crap they gave me. I move on, but still, that kind of sucks.
-
Has like a crap load of dead pool comics. What did I do
-
I actually don't understand the elitism. Isn't it better that more people can relate to one more thing? Regardless of who someone is, or when they found something. I wasn't into Star Wars, then I watched literally all the movies in one day, and I got to say I did miss out. I'm not a super fan, though, because I'm not going to go out my way to go through the lore. Same with Deadpool, I know the general idea, but I'm not going to go out of my way to read all the comics.
-
A fanboy elitist? How nice.
-
When I heard he was getting his own movie I was worried cause I love the comics, and I have to say they did a pretty good job on nailing the humor etc and he ran into bob lol
-
I knew of dead years ago and he is one if my favorite antiheros for comedy

Same way with sports. College football: SO...MANY Alabama "fans!!!" Most of these folks have no connection with the University of Alabama or even the state. They like the Tide because they win championships. NFL: how many people have been running around with Bronco attire? MBL: Yankees? Real fans support a team no matter what. Me College: Georgia Southern University Eagles (I go there) NFL: Atlanta Falcons (I know they suck, but I was damned proud of them in 98) MBL: Atlanta Braves. (Again, I know they suck but no one celebrated a World Series win the way Braves fans did) I feel like being an original fan before all the ban wagoners come in, is a special thing. We share in our teams troubles which make us appreciate their victories far more than ban wagoners. Same can be said for comic book movies. I was a fan of batman long before the Nolan trilogy. I went through the Schumacher days when it seemed that Batman was done and I persevered. This made it all the more gratifying when the Nolan trilogy (especially TDK) came out, seeming to reward me for my steadfast loyalty. Deadpool fans, REAL fans, congrats on your hero's movie. I am genuinely happy that your loyalty to the character through Wolverine has finally been rewarded with a good movie.

Lots of people loved Star Wars and Deadpool. Here's another revelation . . .
you're not the only cool guy :[
-
Star Wars isn't the best example. Everyone and their mother is a fan of Star Wars.
-
I bet you were one of those people that got mad when people were listening to The Chain Gang after GTA5.
-
Cringey hipster thread. Well done
-
It sounds like you are upset that you aren't a special snowflake.
-
Deadpool shirts happened after the release of the game not the movie
-
Bro I liked Star Wars and deadpool before it was cool *puts on hipster glasses *
-
Because the hype of it everybody's excited to see a great movie like I'm excited for August when Suicide Squad is in theaters
-
I have loved Star Wars since I was 6 y/o. And I knew Deadpool.
-
The problem is I really did like deadpool and starwars before the latest SW movie and deadpool. Now I have to find something else to like to show that I'm not a hipster :/

It's human nature to want to fit in. To feel like you belong somewhere.
