Birth of a Guardian: A Rose in a Beautiful Garden

Enjoy! Ghost Log: A rose in a beautiful garden Designation: Luka RE: I will name my logs if I want RE, RE: Numbered logs are boring anyway I would do anything to protect her, do, do anything to protect her. She is my everything, my beautiful younger sister I never had. Her light shines so bright along the path before her. Kind, soft spoken, but time has changed her. Not length of time, but time itself. She was always one of those unique guardians, eager to prove herself. All she asks for is respect and admiration but deep down I can see she wants affection, to be loved, cared about. I promise, I will take her dragon hunting. From the time I had found her, she was an exceptional guardian learning the Hunter codices within a week. Her aptitude for two weapons earned her respect in the crucible as well as beyond the wall. Among all competing guardians she was in the top two percent of those who wielded hand cannons. As well, sniper rifles were just extensions of her own body; she was in the top five percent of guardians who wielded them. Weapon developers desired her, that’s the only way to describe it. She received requests to test weapons daily. One day, a strange and unmarked box was left at her door at the tower. I was suspicious like anyone would be after reading the inscription: A rose for the most beautiful of gardens. The gun itself was actually beautiful, for a weapon. It was a sleek black with a common frame. The insignia along the side was unfamiliar to me and to this day neither Banshee nor I can identify it. She fell in love with it, still uses it. But I worry. It wasn’t long after that New Monarchy reached out to her. She was so thrilled and I was unbelievably excited for her. Her dedication shined in everything she did and finally, she was recognized by one of the Tower’s most prestigious factions. They awarded her with Antimony XVI, a sniper rifle that just fit her style. It was snappy, quick, and fired precisely. Over time she earned her cloak and armor. Every time she completes something and Executor Hideo acknowledged it her eyes lit up and my heart melted. I love seeing her smile. One thing she desires above all else is, as I have stated before, affection and care. While I can give that to her up to a certain point, she has sought out someone she can be with. Research refers to them as mates, however she applies more intimate terms like, friend and lover. These relationships have always gone poorly for her. Her kind heart seems to, and I am using her terminology, fall for, those with impure hearts. She was taken advantage of early on and it made her so sad. As a ghost I could do nothing but sit and watch as she cried out long into the night. That is until one day I experienced more anger and hatred than I had ever felt before. I leave his name anonymous but I sorely do not want to. This man met her on a patrol mission. He seemed so nice, he presented with such a kind heart. They were able to connect much like we had, at first. Over time they grew closer and I was over joyed to see her eyes light up every time she saw him. He was a wolf, an evil creature that should have been put down. It started slowly, a bump here and a tap there, all accidental. Then he got rough. She wanted to go somewhere to celebrate an anniversary of theirs and he refused. When she pleaded with him, he slapped her. It came as a shock to both of us and we were stunned. She ended the conversation that night and later he apologized, claiming he had no idea what came over him. A couple more weeks passed and it happened again, and again, and again. Each time she was slapped, hit, and punched. She was beaten and bruised. The light in her eyes disappeared and that is when I noticed things start to change. That gun, her hand cannon, sprouted sharp points on it, thorns. There came a point I found this man alone. He had escalated beyond what I thought was acceptable. I hit him, over and over. It was like I was a small bee, just irritating. He blew me off but I kept coming. All over the tower I flew into him yelling and screaming how brutish his treatment was. How he broke her heart and her body and how unacceptable that is for anyone to do. It wasn’t until the Speaker stepped in, did I finally stop. I was dented and scratched but, it was worth it. The man was banished from the tower and stripped of his guardian status. Banshee and I had a long talk about the developments of her hand cannon. He sighed and scratched his head like he did when he had bad news. One time, he had seen this type of gun before. It was a legend from well before the City, a wild west. Dredgen Yor was long dead, but Banshee told me about whispers of a dark weapon that hunted outside the City. Once a rose, this gun could become a thorn if the darkness was allowed into it. Ophelia was a godsend. Immediately I noticed a change for the better. She was no longer lonely, she could compete with someone, and she had a friend. The thorns stopped growing and for a time everything went well. Alexander was much along the same lines. He was smart, strong, someone to look up to. He was genuine and she appreciated that. Her shell has only just started to dissolve with these two in her life and for that I am thankful. Venus, I hate that planet, or rather what is inside that planet. Atheon affected her more than anyone else. I cannot explain why. She has asked me over and over to replay that mission to replay what had happened. She explained that there is a vast void in her soul; she was missing something. I think it is much too soon to return to Venus, especially after meeting this new guardian. Holly, the name itself is so familiar. She is a clumsy, new, guardian; a warlock. I could sense her heart begin to race, a feeling not of apprehension, but rather of anticipation. She was so eager to find out who this guardian was. She jumped on her and pulled her weapon. She demanded who the guardian was and probably frightened the guardian more than she realized. Tears fell onto her visor and I sensed her heart pounding even faster. Once the guardian said her name, it was like a long lost reunion, something heartfelt and warm. The new fire team began the hunt for Aksor. She was skipping along the way hounding Holly with random questions. The alcove to the den was a wide area. Camps of snipers to the right a Reaver Captain to the left. A horde of Vandals, Dregs, and Shanks to the front. She was ready. She jumped into action drawing her hand cannon. She flanked the snipers while the rest of the fire team moved forward. Three quick shots and all I saw was ether spewing into the air. She climbed a large rock and pulled her rifle. Three shots disposed of more snipers. The group had engaged the horde. Moving up the hill side, they assaulted the Reaver Captain. I could not see it but I knew her grin when I saw it; her helmet slightly tilts down. Four shots downed the Captain’s shields and stunned it as the rest of the group cleaned up. Joining up with the team the four moved on into the caves. Winter banners hung from the rocks and Fallen technology covered the floor. She took the rear guarding against potential pincers. She kept to the shadows along the walls moving quietly and deliberately. The team focused the majority of the enemies as they entered a big clearing of the cave. A Walker was taken apart and covered in tarps, I assume it was getting repaired. Vex and Fallen were engaging each other completely oblivious to the fire team. She took advantage of that and picked off enemies one by one. They followed the caves until they came out the back. A huge drop off into the canyons below stopped the fire team. I could sense it, the same feeling she had when she got nervous, when we descended to Venus for the second time in three weeks. I looked to her hand cannon, she was shaking and trying to hide it. The gun was morphing again, I saw thorns and a darker hue.
