A spartan could beat 10 ODST's.

It dosn't matter. Both of them are [b]puppets of war[/b] exept; Spartans are action figures and ODST's are teddy bears that changed their ways.

Spartans would win hands down even without shields because they were put through many augmentations that makes them superhuman with more strength (this explains why you can jump higher and kill faster doing a melee with a spartan.

That's just the ones we know are alive, there may be more, like the ones aboard UNSC Spirit Of Fire. But other than that I agree with what you are saying

I forget what I said in this thread, but the Spartans would win. As much as I love the ODSTs, Spartans are just far superior in training, armor, augmentations, etc. It's not really much of a contest. If you went by gameplay (ODST : Halo Trilogy) then maybe the ODSTs would have a fighting chance. But, canonically, not even a question.

also, w/out the armor, they are awesome, but w/ it, it protects them AND increases their speed, strength, and reaction speed.wen they first tested it on regular marines, they moved so fast that wen the guy tried to move, it broke his arm and he ended up killing himself by accident because he broke all his bones. wen the Master Chief first tested the new armor w/ the energy shield and Cortana, he beat 10 ODSTs w/out killing any of them, got across a mine field, destroyed 2 motion tracking turrets, and deflected a homing missile. the missile did hurt him pretty bad, but he still won, by himself (- Cortana), against about 15 ODSTs wen they planned out the field and they had airships/turrets/mines [Edited on 05.07.2012 1:35 PM PDT]

If Master Chief can punch a hole through a solid metal floor of a ship (Halo 3 ending), then what do you think will happen if he used that same force to punch an ODST whose body is not as thick and strong as solid metal?

if you read the books, u would know that the spartans actually are better even w/out the armor. in their training, they practiced w/out it against soldiers w/ it on, and still kicked their butts. on their first mission, they didn't have the armor, and broke into a rebel ship, snuck into their base, kidnapped the leader, got out, and blew up the base w/ minimal injuries

If you read the books or even just paid attention to the storyline, you'd know that Spartans are better soldiers, but ODST's have a rather arrogant attitude. In one of the books, (I believe The Fall of Reach) a group of ODSTs approaches John in the gym and threatens to beat him up. By simply defending himself, John breaks several of the ODSTs' bones. They already have actual combat experience under their belts before they even begin their ODST training. Honestly they have about the same amount of training. Spartans are no more skilled than an ODST. The armor they wear however gives them a huge advantage over an ODST. With out the armor they are no better soldiers than the rest of humanity. And in reality, the spartans can run up to bursts of 70mph. So both your arguments are invalid.

The gameplay of halo wars is absolutly not cannoncial ...thus making it wrong...the spartans are faster,tactical gods and stealth masters.

Have you played halo wars, when playing as the ship commander in skirmish you can drop odst pods anywhere, the Spartans don't. Also they move fairly slow.Don't forget that everyone has there limits.
