I Don't Like Where We Are With Destiny
I have had a blast with this game. Lost so much sleep and made many new acquaintances. It's been awesome.
But right now, I don't like where we are with the game. Every time content, or something is released, I say it's worth the money for entertainment purposes. I really believe that the value is worth it. However, having thought about it during this super dull down time we are having...I may have changed my mind. And I don't want to because I love playing Destiny.
Idk man. They released this Eververse thing to fund them until they can release something else. It was cool for a couple weeks, but the record book thing did it for me. Sparrow racing is neat, but you want me to spend $10 on some gear I'll never use and grind the shit out of 2 tracks over and over. I reached rank 3 and got so tired of those tracks I don't even want to sparrow race at all.
And now they've said we have some festivals or events or something to look forward to, when all we really want is to go explore a new world. We want to fight advanced Fallen tech on Europa. We want to scour a sprawling urban area with Fallen traps and hidden secrets on earth. We want...you get it.
How can this continue? I'm really not trying to be negative. I'm sad about it because no one wants to keep playing this game and doing the exact same stuff in the exact same locations until next September. That blows.

3 RepliesI'm with you. Used to lose sleep over this game, I loved this game with a passion. It's not the same, it hasn't been in a long while. It's too bad because bungie really had us in the palm of their hand, we all loved this game we wanted more. We were all so passionate about it, we would get angry over things but it was only because we were passionate. It's just not the same anymore, they've diluted it all. It's not fun anymore, let's face it overpowered weapons were fun. The gally black hammer fatebringer combo was so much fun. It never got old...I know people will keep playing this game but even the die hards know it's just not the same...

I completed the main story in fo4 n theres still way more content than all of destiny

1 ReplyThe worst thing was the planned obsolescence. Two out of three raids are obsolete. The one activity that was supposed to be equivalent of a raid was a huge flop, and it's obsolete too. Practically all year 1 weapons and armor are obsolete. Destiny is like a chapter of a novel written on pencil, but when time comes for the next chapter, the author tediously erases it all and writes on top of that. No only you can't read the previous chapter anymore: the new one is written on top of smudgy, wrinkly paper full of eraser dust. Idk if that analogy makes sense. Point is: I paid for a game, not a beta.

No in game chat. Have to use third party websites to find random people to play with. No crafting system No trading or selling items. There is ONE raid people do Everyone has the same weapons and armor.... It's a console. Console games are cash grabs. Games come out on a regular basis and leave the older games behind. New consoles come, and make the old ones obsolete. Played Everquest for 5 years hard core. That was in 1997. I still never saw all the content it had to offer and I was in a top raiding guild. 60 man raids. Game is still up and running...22 years later You could go to town, like the tower, and see hundreds of people. Not these little subservers where you end up alone at court of oryx, yet 100 other people are also alone at court of oryx because they are on a different subserver. These console games will never have staying power or content updates like computer mmo's. Once a console game cones out, it's downhill from there. Just a matter of time before it's abandoned. That being said, I'll keep rocking destiny until I grow too bored of doing the same thing day after day, week after week, or until it's abandoned. But it's going to happen.

Now you see what we see. Us complainers just wanted to improve destiny. Make it better then it is at it's current state. But unfortunately we we're out casted by you and many others. Also we we're in no way associated with the nerfers.

How do either of those two things help my warlock kill sh1t any better or faster?! Please tell me how that works... oh wait, it f0cking doesn't. So why the hell should I care at all about these events? I dont even want this kind of stuff even if it is free. Bungie you are wasting your time! I liked the old system of releasing content . I don't mind paying for dlc. Not at all! I'll gladly pay 20-40 bucks for content. Let's go back to that. Where you guys work on new stuff for a few months (maybe a little longer) and then I throw money at my screen for it. That was working just fine. Or maybe I'm just crazy and an a$$hole. Either way.... Please stop forcing content on us that doesn't actually benefit our characters. Sadly I'm addicted to this damn game so I guess I'm in for the long haul lol

I'm just making a guess here, but it sounds like Bungie as a whole has given up on Destiny and has shifted focus to Destiny 2. Destiny 1 in my opinion has been a disaster. So many missteps on behalf of Bungie. It could have been the greatest shooter ever. Hopefully they act like a real game developer and put out a top quality product with the sequel.

It sucks ass, dude. I feel your pain. But unfortunately Destiny was a cash grab and an experiment to see how much people would pay for meager amounts of content. Bungie was like a happy little metalcore band that finally got free of their shitty record deal with BMI(Microsoft). They kinda stayed quiet till Standby Records (Activision) came along and offered them enough money to get a fresh shot and they took it. But dammit, that happy little metalcore band apparently didn't read the contract. Activision receives a gross majority of the profit from Destiny and they have final say over what gets published. If they wanted to release all the other planets as Destinations as well as Year 2 upgrades for every gun and Raid, Activision could (and would) legally veto it because it wouldn't be the best way to squeeze money out. Activision used our trust in the Bungie name. But many of us didn't pay attention. We didn't see all the people leave Bungie before it was too late. All we saw was the shocking realizations after. The lawsuit with Marty O'Donnel against Bungie was eye-opening for alot of people. Bungie is different now.

Things have slowed down, it's been over a year. It's the Christmas season and there's a lot of big titles to compete with that are bound to grab players attention from a game that's been out over a year. Still content in the way of events to add incentive for people to keep playing, and bungie said there will be something of a decent size out soon enough destiny 2 is in development. People are way to impatient, TTK came out a few months ago ffs.

Then we'll start this whole process over again with the same issues for Destiny 2 with content just short of what we want in order to make sure we'll buy the DLC in hopes that that will complete our experience.

I agree. I played this game more than any other, ever. That's saying a lot. I got a second Xbox one for my son and I to play together. I got several more family and friends into it. Now, I feel like playing is a chore. We need new, meaningful content to keep us engaged. Sparrow racing is cool but, two maps? I guess I'll have to wait for destiny 2.
