I always think less RNG is a good thing. So what I would like to see is this: Same system we have now, but ALL strike bosses have legendary armor pieces and weapons, preferably full sets.
There's always a small chance that one or two pieces are able to drop, say the Shield Bros Titans arms and a shotgun, but to get the rest of the set, you'd HAVE to beat them under specific conditions.
Conditions that aren't compatible with one another so you couldn't try to get all the set in one attempt.
Each time you complete a challenge you are guaranteed a drop according to which challenge you completed.
Examples:
-Guaranteed helmet set piece for defeating the brothers within a minute of each other.
-Guaranteed heavy weapon drop for defeating the Solar brother with only Arc damage and the Arc brother with only Solar Damage.
-Guaranteed Class item for defeating both without taking damage from either the whole fight.
This way when you see someone with a full set you know what they achieved, and players have clearly defined goals and rewards to work towards during the repetitive nature of strikes or nightfalls.
