Before you read, I want everyone to know I am usually a dirty racer in the other racing gamers I've played. So I know how contact works. Small contact between vehicles shouldn't launch you several yards.
I'm pretty sure anyone who has played the new Sparrow Racing League mode (SRL) has realized that some weird things happen when you clash Sparrows. A lot of people have problems like being launched into the air and to the side after taking a slight nudge by another Sparrow.
Basically all I want is for Bungie to fix contact between Sparrows. When I'm tapped, I shouldn't be launched 8 feet into the air or flipped over and to the side.
Bungie could fix this by making it to where they change the hitbox of Sparrows. This could fix some of the problems that come with the shape of the Sparrows hitbox.
I honestly want to have a contact mode in this. I think Contact on every racing game is fantastic! But not when you're flipped from a nudge or launched up by a side bump. If Bungie fixed the contact, I would be completely satisfied with the racing part of this magnificent idea.
TL;DR: Bungie needs to fix contact to where these weird outcomes don't happen after making contact with another person's Sparrow. I am all for Contact races, but not when contact works like it is.

You just expect to slide right thru everybody in a race? How is that realistic at all? Quit being upset because you got passed up and hit a wall, you can still recover easy as hell anyways.

Agreed 90% of the time I come in first is not because I'm a better driver or hit more gates but because I didn't get -blam!-ed over by the games bad physics in that initial cluster -blam!- at the start. Which surprisingly enough is actually quite hard to avoid especially when lag rears its ugly head.

I know what you mean, except my problem is whenever I hit somebody I get launched, but yet when people hit me they have no repercussions.

Agreed also seems inconstant at times as well. Where I get nudged and go flying.. I nudge someone and nothing happens or I go flying again... I'd also like to see racing with weapon activations lol... where it's not who wins the race but the person that scores the most points from kills and gate captures etc And point to point races not just Laps... certianly gonna need way more than 2 tracks and 1 mode to keep peeps interested still quite fun.

I feel like the reason we go flying so high from one hit is maybe we're going at extremely fast speeds or something so one hit will knock us off. But yeah it annoys me too

I've noticed a lot of stuff like this, so I agree it needs tweaking, but not too much. My biggest gripe is when I'm in or around the lead, take a nice line through a corner by breaking at just the right point, then everyone behind me just barrels in with no brakes, and they all hit me and shunt me out into a wall while they carry on due to being full throttle all the time. Unfortunately though, after years of experience playing racing games, I don't think that's something that Bungie will be able to fix!

Using the new sparrow, someone wants to hit me. My sparrow just stay like nothing and the other player just pass below and die... I don't know but those race sparrow are wonderful haha.

I find the race very unforgiving. Take a turn too wide or get thrown off just a bit and in a split sec you go from first to last.

I want the full contact. That's how it's supposed to be. If I hit you, you should get out of my way. How I see it, if you're in front of me that's your issue and not mine. I'm going to ram you out of my path.

Sparrows use antigrav technology. If one hits you and it launches you a bit, that seems realistic.

Idiots like you don't know how to use a sparrow. What you do is stay in the lead for the entire game then right at the finish line a blade of grass will touch you and you will flip over 80 times and then land upside down and die then respawn in last place I mean it is so easy
