Boycotting SRL

The video provided is a showcase of the Sparrow Collection kiosk as of update 2.1.0 I was very excited for the December Update, herein referred to as 2.1.0- I started playing Striker for the first time since Year 1, tested out the changes to auto-rifles, bought the Hard Light from the Exotic Weapons' Collection kiosk, and participated in the newly anticipated Sparrow Racing League, herein referred to as SRL. That's where the fun began, and ended. After receiving my bounties from Amanda Holiday I set off for the track, completed the quest-line to receive the Snowscream. After examining the rest of the sparrows it became obvious to me that all of these new additions are lackluster in comparison to sparrows already available to Guardians. For the "Quick Brake" variant there is no reason not to use the upgraded versions of sparrows purchased through the Vanguard and Crucible Quartermasters, or the Ravensteel that was awarded to Year 1 veterans. The same goes for the "Destabilizer" variant, as the Tumbler from Year 1 is also marginally better- this also applies to the Swiftriver, a sparrow that is obtained through the purchase of Destiny branded Redbull products. The new sparrows are all statistically worse than version us Guardians already have, and using them outside of flare and bragging rights is not advisable. As of writing there does not appear to be a variant of "Overdrive" sparrows, so use the Timebreaker and Graverobber at your own discretion. TL;DR, SRL sparrows are worse than what you already have. You'll notice that when you logged in for the first time since 2.1.0 that you would have received a sparrow horn, the "Happy Horn". It's located below your sparrow selection in your character menu, with 9 additional slots for other horns. You can loot blue quality horns, that'll expire at the end of the event, from any SRL event. Just like for the Festival of the Lost, you'll need to acquire a transmog from Tess Everis' Eververse kiosk packages (Custom Horn Kit). If the legendary horn you got from the kit isn't what you're looking for, that's all right, you can break it down into a Horn Relay and apply it to your blue quality horn. This will make the horn permanent, and your previous legendary horn will be permanently dismantled. "But OP, there's a spot for Sparrow Horns in the Sparrow Collection kiosk!" Nope: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/178797767/0/0
Excluding the default "Happy Horn", Sparrow Horns cannot be re-acquired through Collections or through Eververse Trading Co. if dismantled. Please use caution when dismantling items, as they cannot be replaced.
So your only choice for a truly permanent horn is the "Happy Horn." None of the other horns collected during this event will be stored in the kiosk, this was most likely to prevent players from dismantled the same horn over, and over again to transmog their blue quality horns into legendaries. I've reached my limit for the amount of legendary horns you can carry on one character, and collecting any more during the event will just put strain on poor ol' Kadi 55-30 at the Postmaster. So, until Bungie decides to put the rest of the legendary horns into the Sparrow Collection kiosk I will not be participating any further in the SRL. TL;DR, horns aren't available from the sparrow kiosk, with the exception of "Happy Horn"; I'm not going to be racing.
