Brief Summary of the Error:
The first outbreak of the error was late June 23. The error then stopped for most and slowed down intensely for all others, although Achronos posted this before it started again, revealing the nature of the issue (the report button). The error began again en mass shortly after Achronos posted (on June 24), but was then not seen again until early in the morning July 3. It has re-appeared July 9 and 10 in the early morning and on July 12 in the early evening. The July 12 event was reported to be the worst yet, and lasted from around 4:00 PM PST to (at least) 2:00 AM PST on the 13. Early in the afternoon on the 13, Achronos posted this, confirming that the error was fully known and that a fix was on the way.
What we know:
- The error stems from the report button, which is why the moderators do not have the error and why the error does not appear in private groups.
- No sub-domains of bungie.net offer protection from the error.
- Refreshing a page will get rid of the error, but there have been reports of a page being refreshed over 100 times and the error still not going away. Also keep in mind that, if you post and get the error, the post might have gone through. Do not post again until you get through and see if the post was made!
- A fix is set for late on the 13 or 14 of July: no more errors!
How to get rid of the Error:
- Hit the report button until it goes away.
- If you use FireFox, download GreaseGrunty (a specialty version of GreaseMonkey by PKF_647) and then download the Friendly B.net System.Web.HttpException Re-direct script, also by PKF_647. For best effect, go to Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage User Scripts and place the Friendly B.net System.Web.HttpException Re-direct script at the very top of the list, so it will load first and re-direct ASAP.

It appears to have stopped flaring up again for the moment, but no telling when it'll pop back up again. It's the 4th of July weekend and I doubt the Webteam could do anything about it. In fact, I don't even know if they tried in the first place, considering the rarity of the errors.
-
Its back? that sucks. I'm not having any problems this time but i had it last time though.
-
I've had this before, after reporting a post. I thought it was peculiar.
-
Time to download PKF's script just in case! I should've had that installed permanently. I don't know why I uninstalled it before?
-
I haven't gotten it....
-
I don't mind getting the error, that picture of the grunt keeps me entertained for hours. <_< >_>
Posted by: Lord Snakie Achronos explains the error as stemming from the report button...
Yeah, last night I reported a post in the H3F, then went into the Flood. I got about 3 error messages. [Edited on 06.25.2009 12:54 PM PDT]

Task, that vid was awesome.

It hasn't happened to me for two days now. I use Google Chrome. Maybe you all should switch to a real man's browser.
Posted by: N1CK5TER What if the Webteam never fixed it... on purpose? I seem to get it more when I'm using Internet Explorer compared to Firefox. Not sure if anybody else noticed that.
Yea not I.E is going crazy on me for some reason. Even though I.E. is going crazy the site seems to be back to normal for now...
