We walked outside and began the rather long walk to the hangers used for flight simulations, recieving supplies, students and other commodities. I moved at a slow pace to allow Laurentine to use my shoulder for help. Angelica was on the other side of me and everyone else was slightly ahead following Busch. He moved with a very swift pace and usually got a while ahead before stopping and waiting for us to catch up. His grin was constant and he watched us like we were either prized stock or a ticket to stardom. Either way, he lead us happily to the ship. About halfway there, Kate suddenly sprinted out of nowhere and speed towards Rex. "Rexxy!!" His hand clamped on her forehead and stopped her dead in her tracks. Her arms spun in quick circles as she tried to get closer. "Rexxy! No fair!" "Kate-456, would you stop..." She stopped and looked at him. "I just wanted to say goodbye..." He watched her for a second then let go. "You staying here?" "Course not!! I've been given an assignment." She pointed to herself and grinned. "They said I was qualified enough to graduate early." "Well congratulations, Kate-456. Best of luck to you." "Thank you! You got an assignment too?" "Yes." "Awesome! You will do good, I know it!" "I appreciate it." She nodded and smiled. She then frowned a little and dug her toe into the dirt. "So ah... You think we will see each other again?..." "More than likely, considering your persistence." Her gave an annoyed look. "That I am. And I will take you down next time I see you." "Only in your sleeping simulations, Kate-456." "Can ya just call me Kate?..." "If you can 'take me down', sure." Her eyes lit up. "You better believe I'm going to!" He chuckled a bit. "I'd like to see it happen." She nodded and bit her 'lip' a little. "And is... our previous bet still on?..." "If you can beat me." She grinned a little. "Good. And you better keep your promise." "As long as you beat me." She nodded. "Ok!" She quickly turned and started to walk off but paused. She spun around and hugged Rex quickly, before he could object. "See you later Rexxy!" He looked at her and patted her back. "See you, Kate-456." She smiled and skipped off. Her happiness radiated off of her as she rounded a corner and dissapeared. Rex watched where she left for a little and shook his head. "She's gotten faster. Gonna have to work on that." He rubbed his neck and continued walking. The rest of us continued walking. Charles was by my shoulder and he made small sobbing sounds. "You crying?..." I asked. "Almost." He replied. He wiped his core with part of his shell. "The feels man..." "Don't be so melodramatic..." "Hey he has every right to be sad." Angelica petted Charles gently. "It is very sad..." "See?... Someone gets it." He glared at me. I sighed and continued to help Laurentine. We reached the hangers shortly afterwards. On the runway was a standard transport ship big enough for a dozen people. Busch nodded and dissapeared inside. "Be quick!" We all began to board when suddenly Kate leaped out of the ship and barreled into Rex. They hit the ground with a thud. Rex looked at Kate in surprise as she clamped onto him like a lovable parasite. "What are you doing here, Kate-456!?..." "This is my flight! And yours too!" "You sure?..." "Yep!" She grinned and looked up at him. "And since I 'took you down'...." "This doesn't count..." "Yes it does! You didn't say how I could take you down! And your down so it counts!" She giggled happily. He stared at her in disbelief. "Kate-456..." "Ah! Just Kate!" "...... Kate.... -4..." "Nope! Just Kate! You promised!" ".... Kate...." She grinned happily and put her lips against his cheek. A small jolt of arc energy sparked between them before she nuzzled his neck. He blinked and sat perfectly still for a moment. "Thank you Rexxy!!" "Yea.... sure..." His eyes blinked several more times as she hopped up and went back in the ship. He stared at where she used to be. "I... gotta get faster..." I grinned and looked at Charles. Light tears were streaming down his shell. "So... many feels man... so many..." I helped Laurentine onto the ship then helped Rex up and into his seat, conveniently by Kate.
