Our time is valuable- Destiny now a "youtuber focused game" Should Bungie take another look at legendary marks and Destiny's economy?
Back when the stream for a tour of the new tower was shown one of previewers either Luke smith or Deej said that they were trying to form the game to so players time will pay off and respect a players time taken in the game. so trying to get rid of the grind with no rewards. also Deej mentioned with legendary marks that there are no limits on how many legendary marks you can get where yes they will cap at 200 but you could spend them all and then same week earn back another 200 again a quote on quote "not limiting your fun". The taken king is now out, Its an awesome game, has a bug here and there BUT so far you , Bungie, have gone against your word on this.... There is CLEARLY a limit to how many legendary marks you may earn in a week only 30 from the heroic strikes PER ACCOUNT 15 for story mission and the pvp (which not everyone does).
I claim y'all have made a focus toward the youtubers and making choices off of them. Yes if a player plays day in and day out constantly as a job yes they could maybe earn 200 in a week maybe if they are lucky. BUT after the 1st week of playing and grinding i only got about 80 if not less. many youtubers ended up with about 125-175 but UNLIKE THEM most of us cant play that long so how are yall respecting our time with this? Answer is you, Bungie, are not. pre taken king destiny's strike playlist gave you about 5-7 marks per mission until you maxed it out for the week sometimes i was able to reach that and i grinded for a good 2-3 weeks to try get my marks up to 200 cause i thought they'd transfer over to the taken king... NOPE i had 0 all the way up to that weekend.
So I request again respect the common gamer's time give us NO LIMIT to the legendary marks like YOU SAID you did but DIDN'T give us an option to turn in a set amount for legendary marks to increase our ranks for factions, and stop lying to the community there IS CLEARLY a LIMIT to them where you said there wouldn't be take the limit of 30 PER ACCOUNT off of the heroic strikes... if you feel SOOOOOOo worried about people reaching 200 marks from that to fast from that playlist then consider this i am a gamer i play a lot i play Destiny ALONE 2-4 hours a night ish sometimes i miss a day it takes about 15-20 minutes to complete any strike start to finish if you dont mess up, but we do, in one hour i can earn anywhere between 30-40 marks( assuming there is no limit) so if i played strikes non stop from when i got on till when i got off (which I NEVER do) id earn anywhere from 60-120 (assuming there is no limit) in 4 HOURS!?!?!?!?!? HOW IS THIS RESPECTING OUR TIME??? but besides that right now i can play 4 hours straight for strikes and only earn 30 in one week... that is MESSED up.
I love Destiny and I want to see it blossom into the game y'all want it to be not what ACTIVISION WANTS, but im sorry if i don't start seeing some more respect given to my time sometime this year I'm done with destiny... just I'm not going to listen to the great almighty Bungie tell me "yes player we will respect your time and oh now you can earn 200 legendary marks in a week you can spend them then you can go out earn another 200 and spend them again. we wont limit your fun." either give us more of a means to get them (more per strikes, dropped randomly in strikes missions or other in game events, raids old or new, poe, factions or more). NOT JUST FROM A PURPLE THAT GIVES ME LIKE 5.
I'm done ranting here, But Deej, Bungie stop tailoring your beautiful game to the youtubers who do this constantly and earn money for it and tailor it to the normal player who may only play 2 hours, if that, in a day or less then 10 hours in a week. let us play and enjoy your game don't lie to us then secretly limit us.

Yep. Streamers and you tubers are the main focus now. I play after work when my wife is asleep at night. This game used to be for me. I used to enter the world and feel immersed and away from real life. Now the game is focused on LONG uninterrupted play times and no checkpoints. Jobs that require entire teams and HOURS AND HOURS of play to get rewards. So it's not for me anymore. Thanks. But I have to duck out now. I don't have time to play it like they want. I mean just to get the exotic sword.. Hahaha I don't even play pvp! No chance.

Yea YouTube, LETS BE HONEST, is the only way you can even come close to enjoying all the content because since the Youtubers get paid to play (lucky lol) as a day in day out job lots of us are stuck in light 280-295 and the we are also stuck with less Marks because there is so little chance to get them. Like.. Bruh.. I literally have not even been able to buy vendor weapons because of infusing and how little we get marks

4 RepliesThe game should keep expanding and diversifying while keep old content meaningful or providing and outlet to make old content useful for current game aka introduce new content into old content and make old content be useful for current present time This makes past grinding rewarding still and gives a huge variety to new players as well as old 1. Etheric light Lets players choose wether or not they want to ascend or infuse old gear to new standards 2. Old missions and raids Introduce new level modifiers for current max lvls and for this lvls provide new rewards relevant to new content In this case VOG LVL40 with vog styled sword,sidearm,ghost(vex skin)with perhaps some new armor CROTA LVL 40 Crota styled sword,sidearm,ghost(black with the 3 green eyes) with perhaps some new armor Basically the same for HOW 3. Also don't take away the wolves and blades maybe make them happen a little less but keep them in game and present more of them For instance maybe to roaming cabal troops Or Radom hive drop ships Just some quick ideas that would definitely make me pick up new dlc Making all my year 1 content obsolete and irrelevant has made me decide I don't want to continue if everything I get will be made obsolete later Yes people should try out the new stuff but let that be the players choice and not have the choice forced upon them Guardian out pass on that revive to the next one ghost

I've said this a few times before and I'll say it again. Give the game another week or 2 and if you do all the legendary mark playlists, you will have more than you can use. The gear you can buy is only 280, to get all 3 of my characters to 290 LL I only needed to buy 3 pieces of armor. And now I'm stuck at 200 marks and have no idea what I should use them on.

3 RepliesEdited by RudMun: 9/29/2015 6:41:30 PMI honestly don't think legendary marks are an issue. 15 for the daily story. 15 for the daily pvp(win or lose). That's 210 a week without dismantling a single legendary or doing a single heroic strike or weekly pvp match. Your pretty much guaranteed the mark cap every single week for 30-40 minutes of daily play time. That's for the super casual. Add in the heroic strikes. That's another 30 and a guaranteed legendary. If pvp is your thing that's another 30. We're up to 270. It's not unrealistic to think that you might dismantle 10 legendaries throughout the course of the week. Blues turn to legendaries quite frequently. All in all it's quite easy and timely to earn 300 legendary marks a week.

2 RepliesAnd if your concerned about leveling the light on your hunter. Open legendary engrams on him for gear. Then infuse all the 290 blues your Titan is getting into your hunters legendaries. You'd be surprised how fast you'll level that light.

6 RepliesThe economy is better. Its just that the goal is no longer one of building up a store of marks to buy vendor gear. You level up by using your marks to infuse Legendary items that you get as drops, with the light of other legendary items you don't want.....or of that of high level rare items. You'll evel up MUCH faster this way, than trying to buy your way with vendor gear like with previous versions of the game.

4 RepliesThere has to be a balance , if you could earn 200 marks a day people would soon have everything and they would be worthless, All I've used them for so far is just infusing gear together, I was going to buy bad juju with the 150 I just got upto, but decided to hold off as it's not really that much better than my current rifle. I guess you need to maximise your play time and focus on doing the things that get you marks first, If you can manage to get on for 2 hours a day you should be able to grab a fair few quickly. 1 round of PvP - 15 marks 3 strikes - 30 marks In 4 days you can have 180 marks , its not the greatest amount, but it's not terrible
