Official Feedback on The Taken King - The Gameplay

The one about gameplay. So what are your first impressions of the gameplay in the missions, Strikes, on patrol, and any other PVE experience you have done? What do you think of the enemies, are their new attacks and abilities interesting? What about your new abilities, how are you liking the new Subclasses? Are you enjoying the new mechanics in missions and strikes?   • Now ask people how old they are, if they are employed, and how long they've been gaming before they answer. Then when they tell you how awesome it is it holds water. Some children believe in Santa clause, and for 40 bucks you can get your pictures taken with him at s mall. That doesn't make Santa a 10/10.

    • As a day one destiny player without the DLC, my PVE experience, along with the my overall destiny experience right now is utter bullshit

    • I think that we should be able to acquire more Legendary Marks after we do our first three weekly strikes but at a reduced rate. If you're taking the time to grind the strikes, you should At least be guaranteed some sort of compromising reward for all of your time and effort. As it is, I was finished obtaining all of the marks 24 hours after I started the expansion. Very disappointing.

      The enemies are becoming more fast paced with quicker abilities and less cover to cower behind. This is great news. What I'm finding frustrating is my guardian's inability to react to a progressively aggressive force. The enemy can teleport, duplicate, shoot their weapons continuously from any distance without having to reload and without a damage falloff, some weapons have a harsh splash damage, many are tracking and projectiles move more quickly, and there are now numerous ways for the enemy to become completely invulnerable to a guardian's attack. These are all great additions to the ai difficulty. What can my guardian do? He can slowly strafe from one foot to the next, or can jump into the air and gracefully get shot some more. He's a refrigerator with a gun, and he desperately needs abilities to dodge and evade incoming attacks. Most of this can be done with variations of quick strafing movements. I'd appreciate a hard look into a guardian's overall agility to match an ever increasingly difficult ai system. With the enemy getting quicker and a nerfing of cqc weapons, most notably shotguns, running and hiding (even in areas with much less cover) are still becoming the go to strategies. Tl;dr Ai is getting quicker and more strategic. A guardian's agility, abilities, and cqc weapons need to be looked at to match. I want to be out in the fray, and not cowering behind a rock. Thanks.

      I'm not a big fan of the cooldown tiers. In fact, its basically the only thing I find very bad thus far. [url]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/147921488/0/0[/url] The Dreadnaught is a really cool zone. Its small, but really cool. The new strikes were really cool, although I didn't like the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. very much. The other two were actually really good. Not that I hated the old strikes or anything. I feel like there is a lot of stuff that is very unintuitive with regards to the Dreadnaught and its chests. I still don't know how to charge the Agonarch rune, or how to get runes in the first place. Otherwise, I would have a bunch by now. I feel like the game has completely departed from the single player experience. There is a ton of stuff that needs to be done with a fireteam. I feel like people who play with their friends would do it regardless of whether or not the quest/bounty specifically asked for it. Incentivizing it is a mistake in my opinion. I would much rather find people in the zone and help them, rather than find a fireteam to do world PvE.

      • dear Cozmo the Nightstalkers void bow feels like it doesn't last very long with the blood bind perk . I have had to resort to using a rocket launcher with it to get results . I would appreciate maybe just one more second added to this perk to make some use of it since most of the time I am point blank distance and need to finish animation from bow then need time to deal damage

        Many, including myself, would like the content back which we paid for. Non-buyers of TTK aren't asking for TTK content. We want all the content we had paid for which is being taken away by the level 40 requirement.

        • Why as a atormcaller do i have to zap pvp players longer then it takes to slash an arcblade. Randiance melee does more then stormcaller really? Does that make sense? Time to kill should be instant

          • New story is too easy and the cooldown tiers need to go. It should be returned to its original state but also show the cooldown timer as it is show now. We should also have a lv38 strike playlist that gives 6 marks per completion as I am experiencing a rough time playing the Heroics with match made teams. Some players are just horrible and I ran into several afkers already. I have to say that I love that afkers don't get rewarded anymore. I had a guy talk crap the whole strike and at the end, my friend and I got two legendary engrams each while he got nothing for his 14 kills and 12 deaths. It was awesome!!! For the less skilled players and players that want some casual play without having to play the strikes on lv20, a 38 play list with heroic modifier for 6 marks would be great. I have had many players join and leave because the weekly is too hard for them and yet, they have no choice but to try because they have no other set way to get marks in one activity. Reward it like the Vanguard Roc and Dragon strikes from the past. It'll work and will make a lot of people happy.

            • I would like bungie to be honest and upfront about how they intend to move forward. A full and frank apolgy for how they have treated customers Bethesda has committed 100% They have told players they can get a full never ending pass to 100% of all DLC ever made for Fallout 4, for just $30.... why cant bungie be honest and upfront.....

              • Thought it was a big improvement. Loved how you've fleshed out some of the characters we've gotten to know over the past year. My only gripe would be the difficulty settings. Going through on easy is something I would never do if given the choice, but the only choices were "easy" and "impossible".

              • I'm a little uncomfortable with weapons being a factor in my light level. I feel restricted in which weapons I equip. In strikes I like to mix it up a little with my guns. I no longer feel I have that option.

                • So how do I get my hawkmoon now that I can't do any strikes worth doing to get a drop? I didn't buy ttk cause I'm waiting for it to be a price that I agree with but this is stupid you gave us the exclusives but we can't get them now because the end content is -blam!-ing gone?! Fuuuuuuck you, I would really appreciate an answer as to how that makes sense. Thaaaaanks Dick head

                • The new gameplay is superb. Well done Bungie! The legendary mark system is bad Bungie should feel bad. The nerf and obsolescence of Year 1 weapons still makes no sense and seems more cruel now than ever.

                • I am loving the content. It plays very well. I am very, very sad that all my favorite VOG weapons are trash now. I did not expect this expansion to feel so much like starting the whole game completely over. That's really what it feels like. Wearing all blue armor, farming marks so I can buy purple gear so I can finally do the big event and get better gear. It's the same thing I did when I started playing 1000 hours ago. Now all those 1000 hours are trash. I could have gotten to the point I am now in two days.

                    • I'm loving the gameplay so far. The strikes are a lot of fun and even patrols are fleshed out with more stuff to do. My only complaint and it is a minor one at that, is that some content seems hidden away. I got into a fireteam last night with some new people and I was like, hey you guys want to try court of oryx?, and they were all like, what is court of oryx? So I showed them and they thought it was really cool and all but we still thought it odd that the court was hidden in a way that it seemed like an easter egg almost.

                    • Loved the story, wasn't the best story in a game by a mile, but thus far, it's a giant leap in the right direction. The best thing other than the story for me so far, is that for the first time in destiny, I can open the director and actually have multiple meaningful unknown things to do. The open ended quest line after the main story is an absolutely great move on Bungies part. The bad, I personally was very disappointed that mayhem clash disappeared already. Why is this not a basic playlist? I do not really sympathize with the folks raging because they didn't buy ttk, I paid money to have new content, and I appreciate the new direction, that being with TDB and HOW, I paid for new maps but could only play them on specific lists I didn't enjoy. Now they are in the main playlists, however I feel there should be a little more of the old ones mixed in.
