I can't believe the last decent story in a Bungie game was...

More than 10 years ago. Masterful world builders, those chaps and chicks are, but seriously, a good narrative wouldn't go amiss. You remember how to meaningfully thread together a sequence of events for emotional payoff, right? Halo 3's embarrassing first and final thirds would be bad enough without Reach's utterly pointless plot meandering without direction for most of the game. That said, a lot of people liked ODST. It was okay for what it was, but nothing amazing. Does this thread make me a bit of a dick? Probably. Just something I noticed yesterday.

  • Story telling and lore do get lost alot in our generation, but that's because the general community wants content fit for a modern world. As the gamers who care about back story and lore dwindle down, so will the developers that create the stories.
